Drawing inspiration from legendary acts such as Black Sabbath, Testament and Kreator, the trio has developed a raw, aggressive and honest sound that has earned recognition from both fans and the specialized metal press.

Following the release of their acclaimed debut album Apocalipsis and a successful European tour in 2022, the band continues expanding its international presence. Finland now becomes the next destination in Tridente’s journey, marking an important milestone in the band’s career.

of Chile’s most promising modern metal acts to a new audience.

Finnish metal band Segmentia’s new single “Nuclear Sun” pays homage to the power metal era of the 2000s

Ambassador of melancholic metal, Segmentia releases “Nuclear Sun”, the second single from its upcoming debut album. The song plays with contrasts: delicate guitars give way to epic soundscapes while moods of hope and despair alternate. Almost cinematic and built on power metal foundations, the song is a tribute to songwriter Jere Luokkamäki’s years with Celesty.

For me as a composer, Nuclear Sun was the moment I stopped being cautious about my power metal background”, says Luokkamäki.

I laid the foundation for the song on a work trip to Kajaani. The wintry surroundings of the small town and the soldiers on the streets once again got me thinking about the state of the world and how we treat this planet. At times humanity seems determined to bring disaster upon itself, and that is the feeling I wanted to bring into the song”, Luokkamäki continues.

The band’s trademark melancholy strongly colours the universal message of Nuclear Sun.

Jere’s song was clearly an ode to nature, and it fell to me to finish the unfinished lyrics. The melody is at times almost cheerful, but it is above all the lyrics that underline the deep despair that so often consumes me as well”, says the band’s vocalist Kansana, who took part in writing the lyrics.

The performance video for the song is the band’s first of its kind and, at the same time, the second part of an audiovisual trilogy. Visually understated yet striking, the video successfully captures the band’s look and presence on stage.

The setting of the video continues to root the band in the atmosphere of Southern Ostrobothnia. In Before the Dawn, the first music video of the trilogy, dawn was only just breaking. Now the core of the sun blazes in the sky at full force in the Nuclear Sun video, leaving no one untouched”, comments Tomi Salminen / Tojusa Media Oy, producer of the music video

With this release, Segmentia showcases another side of its musical identity. The song is now available on all streaming platforms, and the music video can be watched on the band’s YouTube channel.

Bay Area thrashers Forbidden announce self-titled album set for release on October 23rd via BLKIIBLK

Thrash metal pioneers FORBIDDEN are proud to announce their new self-titled album, set for release on October 23rd via BLKIIBLK, marking the band’s first full-length release since 2010. To celebrate the announcement and offer fans a taste of what to expect, FORBIDDEN unleashed their new single, “Psyclops,” alongside an official video, available below.

About the new single, guitarist Craig Locicero shares:

“‘Psyclops’ was the final song completed for our newest self-titled offering. It was part of the last batch of music completed with Jeremy Von Epp & myself on the home stretch of our writing sessions & it came together quickly. The song itself is a hypnotizing stomper. Heavy footed like millions of people marching against how things stand in the status quo. Norman’s lyrics for ‘Psyclops’ should be left to the interpretation of the listeners. The chorus paints a vivid picture…’Forsaken, fast asleep and trapped inside a maze, Complacent eyes securely locked in an obscure gaze.’”

Watch the Official Video for “Psyclops” HERE

FORBIDDEN’s legacy is one of being the youngest, hungriest and most ambitious of the Bay Area brethren that has launched metal paradigm-shifters from Metallica to Machine Head. With a reconstituted lineup, guitarist Craig Locicero and bassist Matt Camacho, have crafted an hour-plus masterpiece of thrashy predilection, emotive musical movements, and prog-scraping sonic ambitions. From the intensity of opening track, “Single Point Failure” to the philosophical shades of the 9-minute closer, “Flower of Life,” this is FORBIDDEN not merely stretching beyond the steely foundations of 1988’s classic ‘Forbidden Evil’ or the quantum leap of 1990’s ‘Twisted Into Form,’ but the sound of a band with a new sense of scope and purpose. Produced by Locicero, Kontos& Zach Ohren (Machine Head), ‘Forbidden’ isn’t merely a revival for quintet, but full-blown reinvigoration and purgative endpoint for this Bay Area metal institution.

Locicero comments on the album:

“Making ‘Forbidden’ felt more like an odyssey than a typical recording process. We set out to create a record that reminds people why they fell in love with thrash and heavy metal in the first place, embracing raw energy, melody, and the imperfections that give heavy music its character. Every member brought their best, and having Brann Dailor (Mastodon) join us on ‘Sycophantasy’ was an incredible addition. ‘Forbidden’ is five lifetimes of experience forged into one piece of metallic art.”

Pre-Order ‘Forbidden’ HERE

‘Forbidden’ Track List:

1. Single Point Failure
2. Burning The Lungs of Earth
3. Divided By Zero

5. Psyclops

About FORBIDDEN:
Formed in 1985 in Fremont, California as Forbidden Evil, FORBIDDEN quickly became one of the defining bands of the Bay Area thrash metal movement alongside the genre’s biggest names. Following lineup changes that solidified the classic lineup featuring vocalist Russ Anderson, guitarists Craig Locicero and Glen Alvelais, bassist Matt Camacho and drummer Paul Bostaph, the band released their landmark 1988 debut ‘Forbidden Evil’ before shortening their name to FORBIDDEN. Acclaimed follow-up albums ‘Twisted Into Form’ (1990), ‘Distortion’ (1994), and ‘Green’ (1997) showcased the band’s technical precision, melodic songwriting, and Anderson’s unmistakable vocals, while extensive tours with acts including Sacred Reich, Exodus, Death Angel, Testament, and Malevolent Creation helped cement their reputation as one of thrash’s most respected acts. After disbanding in 1997, FORBIDDEN reunited in 2008, released the acclaimed comeback album ‘Omega Wave’ in 2010, and toured internationally before going on hiatus once again in 2012.

FORBIDDEN returned in 2023 with founding guitarist Craig Locicero joined by longtime members Matt Camacho and Steve Smyth, alongside vocalist Norman Skinner and drummer Chris Kontos. The revitalized lineup made its live debut at Belgium’s Alcatraz Metal Festival before returning home for sold-out Bay Area performances supporting Death Angel’s annual Christmas shows. Focused on creating new music, the band entered a new creative era in 2025 with the release of its first new song in 15 years, “Divided By Zero,” with more new material set to follow in 2026 as FORBIDDENcontinues writing the next chapter of its legendary career.

Finnish progressive folk/black metal band Jotungrav released the first and only single ‘Återfödd’ from their upcoming debut album

The Finnish progressive folk/black metal band Jotungrav are set to release their debut album ‘Elegi’ on August 20th 2026 via Inverse Records. The only single ‘Återfödd’ is unleashed now and it’s available here: https://push.fm/fl/jotungrav-aterfodd

The band comments:

” Återfödd” (Swedish for “reborn”) sees Jotungrav embrace its folk metal roots more than on any other song from the band’s forthcoming album. It is largely inspired by Finnish folk music and waltzes, with time signatures that are less common in metal. As a fast and energetic song it features both uplifting melodies and majestic passages, some of which can be surprisingly danceable. The song is a rather noticeable departure from Jotungrav’s usual style, as on “Återfödd” all black metal inspiration has been stripped down and replaced by elements found in progressive melodic death metal. During its eight minute runtime the listener can hear hints of Wilderun, early Ensiferum and Finsterforst, as well as 2000’s and 2010’s folk metal in general. For the band this has struck a balance between respecting the origins of Jotungrav and progressing as a band. The song focuses on one theme alone: the indomitable human spirit. It is a reminder that the cruelty of the universe cannot break one that is filled with purpose and remains unyielding. The cover art for the single reflects the flipside of this, where the death of someone beloved isn’t just a one–sided rebirth, but a turning point for both parties. Here change happens through tragedy; one lives on in memories, while the other is changed for life.”

BIOGRAPHY:

Jotungrav is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Matias Stenman, which incorporates elements of black metal and folk metal within a progressive metal framework. The project got its initial start in 2015, but most of the material composed back then ended up being discarded. It was in the summer of 2022 when the single Drängen was finished when Jotungrav finally materialized, with the help of fellow Sargassus members Matias Rokio, who provided percussive arrangements to the song, as well as Teemu Leskinen, who took on the mixing and mastering duties. Initially Jotungrav was a slowly progressing musical effort, but with time the project managed to accumulate enough material for a second single, Ulven, while working on more material for future releases. Both musically and thematically Jotungrav draws inspiration from early 2000s–2010s viking/pagan metal scene and mythology. The lyrics have a philosophical and symbolic focus on humanity. The songs evolve into vast soundscapes while maintaining a raw and genuine feel to them, paying homage to the early days of folk metal. As Jotungravi has developed, the band has moved closer to progressive, melodic folk metal, with the black metal influences familiar to the band playing a smaller role in the music. On the latest album “Elegi,” the songs stretch into even longer and more dynamic epics that take the listener through wartorn landscapes of the ancient world.

Line-up:

Vocals, guitars, bass, melodica, banjo, harmonica, orchestrations, composition: Matias Stenman

Drums, drum arrangements: Matias Rokio

Mixing and mastering, guitar solo on the track “Segern”: Teemu Leskinen

Grammy-nominated hardcore legends Hatebreed announce new album “Fatal Paradox” out November 6 via BLKIIBLK

Studied, imitated, but never replicated, the Grammy-nominated hardcore legends HATEBREED have remained a fixture of the hardcore and metal scenes for the better part of three decades. After writing the playbook with their genre-defining releases Under The Knife (1996) and Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire (1997), HATEBREED continued to carry the banner for metallic hardcore with albums like Perseverance (2002), The Rise of Brutality (2003), and Supremacy (2006) dominating charts globally.

In recent years, the band’s undisputed offensive continues with modern records The Concrete Confessional (2016) and Weight of the False Self (2020), remaining fixtures on charts globally. The band’s core values of self actualization, perseverance, and honest living have carried them from backyard and basement shows to festival dominators, selling out shows consistently across the world, effectively practicing what they’ve preached.

Now, the band announces its long-awaited studio return with FATAL PARADOX, arriving November 6 via new label BLKIIBLK. Pre-order it here.

Hatebreed also offer the first taste of new music with the video for “KILL COUNT INCREASE“. Watch it here.

Enlisting long-time collaborator Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Accept, Shadows Fall), “Kill Count Increase” is crossover excellence with accelerating speeds, crushing riffage, and frontman Jamey Jasta’s venomous bark inciting crimson flashes of carnage.

“‘Kill Count Increase’ is the lead track on Fatal Paradox and a perfect way of summing up our first album in six years from the start,” Jasta states. “It’s straightforward, in-your-face Hatebreed. Fast. Hard. It gets down to business and comes up for air two-and-a-half minutes later. The room and everyone in it gets wrecked and comes back wanting more.”

Holding no punches, and taking no prisoners Fatal Paradox see the Connecticut-born juggernaut operating at full tilt, bludgeoning listeners with a barbarous blend of breakdowns, d-beats, and dogpiles. Whether it’s the thrash stylings of “Kill Count Increase” or “Total Invincible,” capital H hardcore excellence of “The Carrion Choir” and “Truth Is A Lion,” rage remains the unifying spark to blow the keg in glorious flashes of violence.

Porispere Festival, Pori (Finland) 31.7-1.8.2026

Porispere marked its 15th anniversary in 2026 with the kind of confidence only a festival that knows exactly who it is can muster. Held from July 31 to August 1 at Kirjurinluoto, Pori’s beloved island venue, the celebration drew 24,500 visitors across the week, and for the first time ever, Friday was sold out. With headliners ranging from Dropkick Murphys to Haloo Helsinki!, Nylon Beat, and KUUMAA, Porispere once again proved why it has become one of Finland’s most characterful summer festivals. The next edition will return on August 6–7, 2027.
Porispere’s identity has always leaned proudly toward rock, metal and punk, and the 2026 lineup showcased that heritage with taste. The bill featured power metal Battle Beast, thrash veterans Stam1na, metal force Warmen, doom metal Kaunis Kuolematon, Finnish heavy pioneers Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus, punk legend Pelle Miljoona Band, rising local act The Reality Machine, Tampere’s uncompromising Nyrkkitappelu, modern gothic rock newcomer HOKKA, and Dutch psychobilly cult heroes Batmobile. It was a lineup that balanced nostalgia with discovery, tradition with surprise, and above all, the raw joy of loud guitars echoing across Kirjurinluoto.

The festival’s opening belonged to Pelle Miljoona Band, who stepped onto the stage at 5:15 PM with the kind of ease only a true icon carries. Pelle’s return was more than a performance; it was a full‑circle moment. He played Porispere’s inaugural edition back in 2011, during his farewell shows, and now, 15 years later, he returned with a Hamina‑built lineup to celebrate the festival he helped define. Under the bright sun, the crowd greeted him like an old friend, and the punk pulse of Porispere began beating once again.

Minutes later, The Reality Machine took the Lagunitas Stage at 5:30 PM, fresh from winning the Porilaine band competition. It was only their second live show ever, but you would not have known it. Their heavy metal energy connected instantly, marking them as one of the weekend’s most promising new names.

As the evening deepened, Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus filled Lokkilava with their unmistakable blend of weight and melancholy. Starting at 7:30 PM, they drew one of Friday’s largest crowds, who sang along to classics that have become part of Finland’s rock DNA.

Stam1na’s late night set was pure adrenaline. Riding the momentum of their Apnea album and the Käärmeennyrkki 2026 tour, they delivered a tight performance. Hits like Paha arkkitehti and Muistipalatsi whipped the sold‑out crowd of 9,000 into a dust‑clouded frenzy, an essential Porispere moment.

Saturday afternoon brought a dramatic shift in tone as Kaunis Kuolematon turned the sunny Lagunitas Stage into a cathedral of doom. Their mix of crushing heaviness and fragile melancholy, from Elämästä Ruosteinen to Hyvästi, created one of the festival’s most emotionally charged atmospheres.

On Rajulava, Battle Beast introduced fans to their new vocalist, Marina La Torraca. Her commanding presence won over the crowd instantly, and the band’s surprise partial cover of Dingo’s Levoton tuhkimo became one of the weekend’s most delightful moments.

At 4:30 PM, Warmen delivered a masterclass in melodic metal. Janne Wirman’s keyboard wizardry, familiar to any Children of Bodom fan, lit up Lokkilava, while the band’s Here For None material showcased their heavier, Bodom‑inspired edge.

By 7:15 PM, Nyrkkitappelu had turned Lokkilava into a sweaty, kinetic blur. Organizers described the show as “a live sports performance,” and it is hard to disagree, the band did not waste a single second of energy.

One of Saturday’s most anticipated acts, HOKKA, stepped onto Rajulava at 9:15 PM. With Joel Hokka at the helm, Pauli Rantasalmi on guitar, and Jimi Aslak on drums, the band delivered a theatrical, red‑lit performance. Tracks from Via Miseria IV, including In the Darkness and Blackbird, resonated with the crowd’s appetite for modern Finnish melancholy.

Late at night, Batmobile brought their slap‑bass‑driven psychobilly to Kirjurinluoto, igniting the crowd with a fast, melodic hybrid of punk and rockabilly. Their set was the perfect high‑octane warm‑up for the festival’s final act.

At midnight, Porispere 2026 reached its climax. Dropkick Murphys stormed Rajulava with bagpipes, banjo, electric guitars and working‑class punk spirit. Global hits like I’m Shipping Up to Boston and Rose Tattoo turned the field into a roaring sea of voices. Organizers later praised the show as one of the loudest and most energetic performances of the entire Finnish festival summer, a fitting end to Porispere’s 15th anniversary.

Solus Released New EP 4

Finnish dark‑minded heavy music gains a powerful new chapter as Solus, the Rauma‑based melodic dark/death metal outfit, unveiled their latest EP, 4. Since forming in 2020, Solus has carved out a distinctive space within Finland’s extreme music landscape, blending brooding atmospheres with sharp modern influences.

“4” is a melancholic, timeline-driven work that follows the arc from birth to the end of
everything. The songs guide the listener with delicate metaphors, yet in an easily relatable way, through the winds of life, darkness, and dangers — moving from a state of ignorance toward trials and ultimately toward accepting the end of all things. Both the lyrics and the music create a constantly shifting mental landscape, and the way of thinking evolves as the songs progress — perhaps even toward reincarnation, as suggested by the album’s cover art.
The work carries several artistically layered themes and thought patterns around which the story unfolds:
– A person and life are like a painting — everyone strives to create their own version
– A person and life are like a plant, continuously tested and shaped by the environment, and not everything can be controlled
– The work can be compared to life, a phase of life, or even relationships — from which some lyrical elements are also drawn. Each of these begins and eventually comes to an end.
Key themes of the album include carefreeness, ignorance, disappointment, dependence, letting go, surrendering and loneliness.
The EP’s title comes from several factors. Firstly, this is Solus’s fourth release, excluding singles. It is also the first release on which all four members of the band contributed to the composition and final polishing of the songs — and it shows in the result. Most importantly, the EP contains four tracks, each portraying slightly different stages of life that together form the story. Nothing more complicated than that.
“4” is an excellent showcase of what Solus is capable of after all these years. This time, the stylistic direction leans heavier and more melancholic in line with the theme, but given the band’s versatility, Solus will surely be heard in different forms in the future as well.

Suicide Chain Video Interview

Rising from the backwoods of Jyväskylä, Finland, Suicide Chain have carved out their own lane with a sound that’s as feral as it is focused. Their blend of raw, sweaty Hard Rock, the muscular punch of Groove Metal, and the unapologetic swagger of Rock ’n’ Roll has already earned them a reputation as one of Finland’s most reliably hard‑hitting live acts. The climb has been fast, the momentum undeniable, and after a standout performance at Tuska Festival, the band sat down with The Offering to dig into their origins, the fire behind their music, and where this runaway train is headed next.

Allt Video Interview

Allt, the progressive metalcore force formed in 2020 in Karlskoga, Sweden, have built a reputation for blending crushing riffs with cinematic melodies and orchestral depth. Their music is shaped by a collective passion for nature and film, often drawing inspiration from books, movies, and personal memories to create a sound that feels both intimate and expansive.
Following their standout performance at Finland’s Tuska Festival, Olle Nordström and Viktor Florman sat down with The Offering to discuss their upcoming album Ataraxia, set for release on July 31st. In an open and heartfelt conversation, they reflected on the creative journey behind the record, from the earliest sparks of inspiration to the writing sessions and the immersive recording process. They also shared insight into their upcoming tour, how they prepare before stepping on stage, and the moments that stay with them long after the final note fades.
