Earthblood’s new Hatchet in Hand single tells about a man with an axe

Earthblood’s new single “Hatchet in Hand” is continuing in the same footsteps as the previous EP, embracing the more melodic Heavy Metal soundscape, but still tightly holding on to the bands key characteristics like: The fuzz guitar rumbling, the dirty bass growls and the drums beating like thunder. The song tells about a man with an axe.

Prog Collective LUFEH Unveils Album Title Track “Overwhelmed” From New Album Out May 2026

Progressive rock collective LUFEH announces the release of their powerful new single “Overwhelmed,” the title track from their forthcoming album, arriving May 29th, 2026. The song follows the recently released first single, He Commands the Sun and the Stars,” which introduced fans to the band’s evolved sound and the new creative chapter ahead.

Recorded at the iconic Sunset Sound in Los Angeles and produced by keyboardist Gera Penna, “Overwhelmed” represents LUFEH’s most melodic, emotionally charged, and musically refined work to date. This album fuses the band’s trademark progressive intricacy with a renewed focus on memorable vocal lines and dynamic, accessible arrangements.

Its title track, “Overwhelmed,” captures this evolution perfectly. Written by guitarist Deio Tambasco, the song opens with a haunting violin passage performed by LUFEH’s new featured vocalist and internationally acclaimed electric violinist Ginny Luke, setting the tone for a piece that leans boldly into vocal‑driven storytelling without sacrificing the band’s technical edge. Known for her work with Foo Fighters, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, Miguel, and others, Luke brings a commanding vocal presence and electrifying violin work to the album. Her violin performances also appear on“Feels Like I’m a Ghost” and “Live the New Today.”

“Ginny brought a whole new dimension to our sound. Her voice and violin elevated everything we wrote,” adds drummer and band founder Lufeh Batera.

Lyrically, “Overwhelmed” reflects the sensation of being mentally submerged, caught between pressure, fatigue, and the urgent need to pause and breathe. This emotional depth is echoed visually in the album’s artwork, which portrays a lone figure underwater reaching toward the light above the surface.

“It’s about reaching that point where you can’t keep running. Life gets heavy, but there’s always a light above the surface. This song represents that moment of stopping, breathing, and finding your way back,” says Batera.

The forthcoming album “Overwhelmed” also marks the return of guitarist Deio Tambasco, reuniting him with Lufeh Batera and bassist Duca Tambasco, continuing a musical partnership that began in 1993. Despite living on different continents, Batera in Los Angeles and the rest of the band in São Paulo, the group wrote nearly 70% of the album remotely, exchanging ideas daily and refining each track collaboratively.

While LUFEH’s 2020 debut “Luggage Falling Down” leaned heavily into technicality, “Overwhelmed” strikes a new balance of complex musicianship, catchy, sing‑along choruses, fusion, jazz, and Brazilian influences, and emotional storytelling. The result is a progressive rock album that is both intricate and accessible, offering fans a deeper connection to the band’s evolving sound.

Recommended for fans of Rush, Dream Theater, Haken, Sleep Token, and Tool, LUFEH‘s new album “Overwhelmed” marks a bold new era, one defined by melody, maturity, and a renewed creative spark.

Canada’s NOX Unleashes Debut Single “Night Terror,” a Cinematic Descent into Goth‑Metal Darkness

Recognized for his guitar work and production roles in Ottawa bands A Scar For The Wicked, DAEDFALL, and previously Sovereign Council, solo goth‑metal artist NOX emerges as the newest creative vessel for cinematographer and visual storyteller Joe Moon. To introduce the launch of this fully self‑realized project, one that fuses heavy music, horror‑driven aesthetics, and immersive worldbuilding into a singular, shadow‑forged identity, Moon unveils NOX‘s debut single and music video for “Night Terror.”

NOX embodies Moon’s long‑standing drive to create something darker, more personal, and more cinematic than anything in his past body of work. After years spent shaping visuals, music, and production across multiple mediums, the project stands as the culmination of that experience, a space where sound, imagery, and storytelling merge without restraint. Moon writes every element himself, from synths and drums to guitars, crafting each track around mood, tension, and emotional gravity. Sonically, NOX pulls from modern metal, melodic death metal, industrial metal, symphonic black metal, and gothic/alternative metal, while weaving in the scale and emotional depth of cinematic scoring.

“NOX is a dark, creative force rooted in heavy music, cinematic tension, and immersive atmosphere. Influenced by metal, horror, sci‑fi, and shadow‑driven visual storytelling, the project exists to create music that feels larger than sound alone, a world built on power, fear, transformation, and emotional weight. The goal is to give people something immersive, something oppressive, emotional, haunting, and atmospheric. Every song should feel like a chapter in a larger story,” says Moon.

“Night Terror” serves as the first entry point into that world. The track is dark, intense, and deeply atmospheric, built around the sensation of being hunted by something both psychological and real. Moon describes it as a reflection of fear, paralysis, and the loss of control, emotions that shape the song’s heavy, immersive sound.

“‘Night Terror’ leans into fear and tension, turning those emotions into something cinematic and overwhelming. It’s meant to feel like stepping into a nightmare you can’t wake up from,” adds Moon.

As a cinematographer and visual creator, Moon approaches NOX with a filmmaker’s eye. The music video for “Night Terror” introduces the project’s aesthetic, a blend of horror, sci‑fi, surrealism, and metal imagery designed to feel like a window into a larger universe. The result is a sound that is dark, cinematic, immersive, and vicious.

Recommended for fans of Sleep Token, Lord of the Lost, Lacuna Coil, Dimmu Borgir, and modern Swedish melodic death metal, NOX delivers the same sense of weight and atmosphere, but pushes further into something more visual, more narrative‑driven, and unmistakably its own.

About:

NOX is the dark creative project of Joe Moon, a cinematographer, visual creator, and storyteller driven by heavy atmosphere, bold imagery, and genre-blending worldbuilding. Working across film, music, design, and concept development, Joe builds immersive visuals and identities that live somewhere between horror, sci-fi, metal, and the surreal. NOX is an extension of that vision: a space for darker ideas, original characters, striking aesthetics, and unapologetically cinematic expression. Through NOX, Joe brings together his work in visual storytelling, production, and creative direction to create something visceral, mysterious, and unmistakably his own.

Volucrine’s second single, ‘Talk’, is out now and is taken from the forthcoming fifth album

Finnish modern metal band Volucrine are set to release their fifth album via Inverse Records on September 25th 2026. The second single ‘Talk’ is out now and it’s available on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/volucrine-talk

The band’s mastermind Jupe Velin comments:
The words burn in my throat. It feels like a year has passed since the last time, even though barely a week has gone by. It took only a few encounters, and without a second thought, I handed over the keys to my mind. Then you stole my dreams, robbed me of my appetite, and cast a shadow over my view of the future. It’s tragicomic that the purpose of our meetings is to heal, not to shatter me further, yet I’m starting to feel

like sawdust. Do you recognize any of this? I bite my lip so I don’t think out loud.

You’re a potent medicine; you replace one form of anxiety with another. The remedy is addictive, and attraction turns into possessiveness. Feeding the addiction comes at the cost of healing. If only I were strong enough not to care, or cared enough not to turn regret into new trauma, adding to my list of psychological symptoms. I know our time is limited, but I want to finally tear down the fence. How will you respond when

I cross that finish line and ask: “Shall we talk?”

Culmination! That’s the first word that comes to mind when listening to the Talk single with fresh ears. It perfectly combines Volucrine’s technical prowess, melodic flair, and storytelling, not to mention rock ’n’ roll! Does it annoy metal purists? Absolutely, but at the same time, it offers the most open-minded and life-hungry music fans a dose of alternative metal whose buzz lasts for weeks! You hear the song once, and the

chorus melody immediately lodges itself between your ears like a peregrine falcon that’s a bit more territorial than usual!

The theme? Well, the song is about love in a way, though a self-destructive and one-sided kind. Even though the story doesn’t reveal what happened to the characters in the lyrics, I would still encourage everyone to always acknowledge when a bottled-up emotional life begins to poison their inner self. Life is far too short to spend our old age looking back and cursing the stones we didn’t turn over along the way. With pure words, the mouth sings of freedom!”

VOLUCRINE are a Finnish alternative metal collective, who released their debut album in 2011. Four albums, two EP’s and countless live shows later, the band’s personal style has been honed to its peak, still emphasizing bold testing of boundaries within their genre. The band has a strong focuson their lyrics, which, due to their deeply personal nature, give Volucrine’s music a human voice.

After the ETNA LP (Inverse Records 2024), which garnered a lot of positive attention worldwide, the band is finally ready to present new material from their upcoming album, which will be released in the fall. With the theme of rebirth, we can expect the unexpected from this album as a great circle is closed.

Overcoming Tragedy, Mourning Noise Melt Minds With Their Final Single Before The New Album Streets

With their much-anticipated Serpent Lip Service album now out, Mourning Noise released a new single “Melted Minds” and an accompanying lyric video.

“‘Melted Minds’ is a lens into an altered reality,” says the band’s Robby Bloodshed.  “A synopsis of how your brain, heart, and soul can play tricks on you. How it could make you believe something is so real, when it is so clearly an illusion in front of your own eyes.

“This song is a real life encounter, and it’s so easy to borrow this passage from the late mastermind Rod Serling. Adjusted a little bit for our context…
“‘A latter-day trance just returned from an adventure. Submitted to you without any recommendation as to belief or disbelief. You can accept or reject; you pays your money and you takes your choice. But credulous or incredulous, don’t bother to ask anyone for proof that it could happen. The obligation is a reverse challenge: prove that it couldn’t. This happens to be…’ In your MELTED MIND!”
Yet the release, while triumphant, is also tinged with heartbreak.  Just two weeks ago, founding member Chris “Morance” Marino passed away and, for a short while, the entire future of Mourning Noise was up in the air.
“Chris was the best bandmate you could have asked for,” the band said in a statement that day. “A fantastic bassist. A team player. Eager to always rehearse. Our secret ingredient in the songwriting process who would give us little details to paint within the canvas. And above all, a man with a heart of gold. There are no words that can fully capture what he meant to us, and there never will be.”
Ultimately, however, the band decided to press on. Serpent Lip Service, all agree, is the band’s best album yet, and Chris’s playing throughout is phenomenal.  What better way to keep his memory alive by continuing to do what he – and they – loved best?
It’s not going to be easy. How can you simply replace someone who was an integral member of the band for 45 years, since Mourning Noise first came screaming out of suburban Lodi, New Jersey?  Serpent Lip Service, says Steve, “is rooted firmly in the band’s original punk ethos, the record pushes beyond tradition, blending dark intensity with a broad spectrum of influences to create a gripping, unpredictable journey from start to finish.”
Yes, that journey has suddenly taken a tragic, and wholly unexpected twist.  But Mourning Noise will continue, and Serpent Lip Service is suddenly an even more significant album than any of us could ever have imagined.
Rest in Peace, Chris.  You will never be forgotten… Mourning Noise will make certain of that.

ANDRZEJ CITOWICZ Releases Deeply Personal Full-Length Album “Beautiful Damage: 1990–1996”

CITOVITZ AND THE FIREFLIES OF FEBRUARY — the recording project of Polish-born guitarist, composer, and songwriter ANDRZEJ CITOWICZ, based in Cairo, Egypt — announce the release of Beautiful Damage: 1990–1996, a deeply personal full-length album built from original songs written between the ages of 14 and 20, discovered on two old tape cassettes, and completed three decades later in a home studio.

The album arrives in April 2026 (released yesterday on April 13th) — the same year Andrzej turns 50 — and stands as one of the most honest and emotionally complete works of his recording career.

Stream on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/4fRhfDdxBsnxDjpZUrgnBd?si=yrBTjq4UTE26DK7BsvkIJQ

THE CASSETTES THAT SURVIVED
The story begins not in a studio but in the quiet shock of rediscovery. Two tape cassettes surfaced — the earliest musical archive Andrzej ever created. Recorded on an old acoustic guitar in Wałbrzych, Poland, between 1990 and 1996, the demos were raw and unfinished. Some had lyrics. Others were just chord progressions, melodies without words — ideas a teenage boy could hear in his head but was not yet equipped to complete.

They were put away. Life filled the space between then and now. Love, loss, marriage, grief, survival, and the long slow work of understanding who you are. And when those cassettes were finally played again, Andrzej heard not relics — but blueprints. Songs that had always known what they wanted to be. They had simply been waiting for the life that would finish them.

“This is the next chapter of my music journey. I found old tape cassettes. Two of them. My first songs from 1990 to 1996. Some with lyrics. Some without. Just ideas a kid couldn’t finish yet. I wasn’t ready then. I am now.”

BON JOVI, DEF LEPPARD, AND THE SOUND OF A GENERATION
To understand Beautiful Damage: 1990–1996, you need to understand what was playing when these songs were first written. Bon Jovi’s New Jersey era. Def Leppard’s Hysteria and Adrenalize. Richie Sambora’s guitar work. Desmond Child’s songwriting architecture. The Europe of Out of This World. Whitesnake. Winger. These were not influences — they were the air Andrzej breathed as a teenager discovering what music could do to the human chest.

That DNA runs through every track on this album — the melodic power ballad structures, the emotional guitar hooks, the stacked harmonies and cinematic arrangements. But Beautiful Damage: 1990–1996 is not nostalgia. It is a conversation between a boy who absorbed those sounds in the early 1990s and a man who has spent thirty years learning what to do with them.

“Bon Jovi’s Always premiered in late 1994. I was 18. I sat down with my guitar and recorded chords that same week — just the feeling.

The Def Leppard influence runs equally deep — not just in the guitar tones and production choices, but in the philosophical approach to the power ballad as a vehicle for emotional truth. Phil Collen and Steve Clark’s harmonized guitar work, the wall-of-sound production of Mutt Lange, the way Hysteria made vulnerability feel enormous — these are the standards Andrzej measured himself against as a teenager and continues to reach toward today.

THE TITLE TRACK: WHERE THE ALBUM FINDS ITS NAME
Beautiful Damage — the title track — is the song that gives the entire project its emotional compass. Written in the early 1990s and completed in 2026, it speaks of lost youth not with bitterness but with the strange, hard-earned gratitude of someone who survived long enough to understand what those years were actually worth.

On this track alone, Andrzej is joined by his longtime creative partner and bassist Patryk Szymański — a collaborator of more than a decade, and in every meaningful sense, a brother. Patryk’s bass work on the title song does not simply anchor the rhythm. It speaks its own truth through the arrangement, responding to and deepening the emotional content of the track in the way that only years of musical trust can produce.

“Sometimes you need 50 years of scars to finish what you started at 14 — and left behind in your twenties. I wasn’t ready to write these words then. I needed everything that happened in between to understand what this song was always about.”

“Patryk’s bass on Beautiful Damage says things I didn’t even know the song needed said. That is what happens when you make music with someone you truly trust. They hear what you can’t yet hear yourself.”

A SONG FOR ESTHER: SHEREEN’S GIFT
Among the songs on Beautiful Damage: 1990–1994, one stands apart in origin and meaning. A Song For Esther was written for a very special person — and it was Shereen Shoukry Citowicz, Andrzej’s wife of nearly 18 years, who added her touch, her heart, and her voice to bring it fully to life.

Shereen has become one of the most significant creative forces in Andrzej’s musical world. She is not a background presence. She is a full collaborator — her lyrical voice, her emotional instincts, and her willingness to place the most honest parts of herself inside a song have shaped some of the most powerful work Citovitz and The Fireflies of February has ever released.

On A Song For Esther, her contribution is both personal and profound. The song exists because of a person who mattered. Shereen made sure the music was worthy of that person.

“Shereen gave this song what I could not give it alone. She understood who it was for and what it needed to say. Her voice, her heart — they are woven into every note of it. I am grateful every day that she walks this musical journey with me.”

THE SONGS AND THEIR MEANING
Beautiful Damage: 1990–1996 is a collection that moves across thirty years of unfinished business. A Song For Esther carries the quiet, irreplaceable weight of a song written for someone specific and made complete by love.

Every song on this album was written during the years when music is absorbed most completely — the teenage years, the early twenties, the period when the heart is fully open and the vocabulary to describe what it feels has not yet arrived. That vocabulary exists now. The album is the proof.

“These are not old songs given a new coat of paint. They are finally what they always wanted to be. The demos were the bones. 2026 gave them everything else.”

THE PHILOSOPHY OF COMPLETION
Beautiful Damage: 1990–1996 arrives in the same year as Andrzej’s 50th birthday — the same year he released the My Revenge EP as a declaration of survival. Where that EP looked across fifty years of living, this album reaches back to the very beginning — to the bedroom in Wałbrzych, the acoustic guitar, the cassette player, the boy who felt everything and wrote it down before he understood what he was writing.

Completing these songs was not an act of nostalgia. It was an act of responsibility. To the boy who recorded them. To the music that survived. To the life that made finishing them possible.

“The world is too crazy to wait with dreams. Time to finish them.”

Andrzej Citowicz operates entirely independently — no label, no mainstream industry support, no compromise. His home studio in Cairo is where every note of this album was shaped and recorded. The living room rockstar, as he has called himself — building something real and permanent from the most personal materials available: memory, survival, love, and the guitar his late father Arkadiusz hand-built an amplifier for, all those years ago in Poland.

The Finnish heavy doom band Occult Master will release their debut album in August, with the first single, ‘Island of Leper’, now available to stream

The Finnish Heavy Doom band Occult master are set to release their self-titled debut album on August 14th 2026 via Inverse Records. The first single ‘Island of Leper’ is out now and it’s available on streaming services:

https://push.fm/fl/occult-master-island

The band comments:

“A contemplative, multi-part, poignantly beautiful and overwhelmingly heavy progressive metal epic takes listeners on a sombre, melancholic journey, centered around two former lovers who are struck by a devastating misfortune after contracting leprosy. The couple, beloved of youth, meet on the island of the lepers, where they reminisce about their wonderful youth. The island, their final resting place, ultimately embraces them in its leprous embrace, where they will find an ultimate fulfilment.”

BIOGRAPHY:

“Occult Master was founded in 2012 in Oulu, Finland, first starting as a heavy rock/doom band. After a line‑up change in 2020, the musical style turned faster, more rhythmic and more complex. Occult Master’s music is heavy, versatile and full of nuances, ranging from full‑throttle metal blasting to quiet, subtle and beautifully eerie musical landscapes. The band’s roots lie strongly in the classic heavy metal of the 1970s and 1980s. The songs are delivered in a hardy, straightforward and no‑nonsense style. In the dark‑toned music, the lyrics deal with different matters of life and the world in general, and at times even horror stories told with a devilish grin.

Occult Master are:

Ari Eskola – guitars and vocals

Toni Mäki – bass and backing vocals

Jussi Risto – drums

Finnish Heavy Metallers DEMONESSA Announce Debut Album “Wild ‘N’ Loud”, Out May 1st

DEMONESSA announce their long-awaited debut album, entitled “Wild ‘N’ Loud”, coming out May 1st.

“Wild ‘N’ Loud” is a love letter to all the greatest hits from the ‘80s heavy metal scene with big, arena-shaking choruses, thundering drum beats and hard rocking guitar riffs that will inspire the next generation of rock ’n’ roll stars. The sound of the album is overall very reminiscent of that old school tone, but with a modern twist to it, so it doesn’t sound like it actually came out 40 years ago.

The band stated on the album:
“A few standout tracks for the members themselves have to be the opener “Till Death Do Us Part”, because it brings together everything we’ve learned to love about heavy metal music, “High Voltage Renegade”, the follow-up song with its fast-paced, hard-rocking energy that perfectly kicks off the rest of the album, “I Stand Alone” which will surely top the charts in 20 years, like any good old power ballad did back in the days and “We Rule the Night” simply for how much fun it is to play live.”

“The album was a long time coming, as we wanted to make sure everything was on point and everyone was fully behind the final result that would be the band’s first real introduction to the listeners. The music for the album was written by the guitarist John Creweholm, but every band member had a chance to add their own twists and turns for each song as they saw fit, while the vast majority of lyrics and vocal melodies were the singer, Senja’s, territory. The songs were recorded mainly in the band’s rehearsal room and mixed and mastered by the great Aleksis Pelli at Mix Studio 1101. One of our biggest challenges was getting the drums to sound just right, but with his magic touch they sound like cannons from hell with every beat, as they do live.”

A couple of ‘must-listen’ songs that define the album:
– “Till Death Do Us Part” – The opening track, the bread and butter of the album, the song meant to hook listeners immediately. The song’s message can be interpreted as either a love story gone horribly wrong the toxic way or an addiction that will take you to your grave.
– “I Stand Alone” – The token ballad of the album. A story about losing the people you love as time goes on and everyone starts going their own way, but you still have to stay strong, true to yourself and move on.
– “A Knife to a Gunfight” – An explosive ending for the album that takes the listener on the ride of a lifetime with the amazing vocals, cool riffs, and crazy solos. It’s about falling in love with someone, when you’re not ready yet, and it feels unfair.

Demonessa is a heavy metal band from Tampere, Finland, carving its path with pure power and attitude. Formed in 2019, the band combines the explosive force of 80’s heavy metal with the spectacle of glam metal creating an experience that must be witnessed live.

From small club stages to festival crowds, “Deafening Tour 2026” is set to deliver fast riffs, sharp hooks, and a live set built to hit hard and leave a mark.

Fierce Finnish thrash metal veterans Bloodride formed in 2000. They debuted with the EP Bloodridden Disease in 2004, followed by their first full-length album Crowned in Hell in 2011. Their fourth album, Idiocracy (2021), earned critical acclaim worldwide. Their sound blends old-school thrash with darker death metal tones and the raw edge of hardcore—pure neck-breaking intensity.
Over the years, Bloodride has torn through stages across Europe, sharing the stage with acts like Exhumed, Exodus, Nunslaughter, Toxic Holocaust, Whiplash, and Prestige. Live, they deliver nothing short of a perfect storm
