Finnish Metal Standout Crimson Day Drops “War Machine” Music Video

Finnish heavy metal band Crimson Day have released the official music video for “War Machine,” a track from the band’s album Dark Dimension, out now via Wormholedeath.

“War Machine is a musical nod to old-school heavy metal with a modern edge. Lyrically, it explores humanity’s drive to create ever more powerful war machines. In this case, it draws inspiration from the legendary fighter aircraft of World War II, while also referencing the Battlestar Galactica episode “Scar.” The video features authentic World War II footage that I found from various sources across the internet, showcasing aerial dogfights between the Allied and Axis forces, with a particular focus on battles between RAF and Luftwaffe pilots. Founded in 2013 in Tampere, Crimson Day has spent over a decade forging their own lane within the heavy metal landscape, blending the timeless power of classic heavy metal with a broad sweep of genre influences, wrapped in dark intensity, high-octane energy, and sharp, soaring melody.

The band’s story began with a self-titled EP in 2013, followed by their debut full-length Order of the Shadows (2015). They expanded their sonic vision on At the Mountains of Madness (2018) before returning with the bold, self-titled Crimson Day in 2023. A pivotal lineup shift in 2020 introduced new frontwoman Milka Uusitalo, ushering in a reinvigorated era marked by standout singles including “Raising the Fury” and “Black as the Heavens Above,” and bold, genre-defying covers of “Immigrant Song,” “Holding Out for a Hero,” and “Objection (Tango)” that further demonstrated the band’s dynamic range.

Urban Spine released debut album

Luxembourgish Heavy Metal band Urban Spine released their new album «Cruelty by Design». The release was recorded, mixed and mastered by Fabien Cruzille in his home studio.

Finnish three-piece groove metal band Ill Geared released their debut album ‘To Dust’

Finnish three-piece groove metal band Ill Geared released their first full length album “To Dust” on August 7th 2026. The album consists of 10 songs and includes also previously released singles released singles, “To Dust”, “The Wasp” and “Abyss”. The songs in the album present Ill Geared’s groove metal style mixed with doom metal influences. Raw, heavy, melodic at times and including some old school vibes. From faster songs with blast beats (Delirious, Abyss…) to slower, almost full doom metal songs, such as “Valley of Death”.

Songs tell about nightmares, nature predators, real life incidents and imaginary stories.

International Symphonic Black Metal band MorteMutta released a new single «På Markene». The release was recorded at “Eijefjorden Studios” and mixed/mastered by Chris Highlander.
Bridging the ancient fjords of Norway and the neon landscapes of Japan, MorteMutta is a “Fjordmetal” project formed in 1999. Founded by members DC (Norway) and JJ (Japan), the duo crafts a cinematic universe combining Nordic and Japanese folklore, multilingual vocals, and unconventional instrumentation like the koto and roaring chainsaws. MorteMutta focuses on world-building and mythological storytelling over standalone songs. An infamous, defining moment in their history was the complete destruction of their early album masters by JJ.

Misanthropik Torment released new album

American extreme metal project Misanthropik Torment has officially released its new album «SUICIDE NOTES: THE FINAL CHAPTER — PLEASE DO, ENJOY MY AGONY», available now via Earache Records Digital Distribution and SelfMadeRecords. Spearheaded by vocalist and lyricist Erik Leviathan Scarlet, the 11-track album confronts trauma, addiction, and survival. Many of the core lyrics were originally written as suicide notes while Scarlet was incarcerated. “I wrote most of them as suicide notes while I was in prison,” shares Scarlet. “Somehow, I survived long enough to turn those words into music. Please do, enjoy my agony.”
Formed in 2018 in Lexington, Kentucky, Misanthropik Torment continues to push the boundaries of extreme metal, merging dark alternative metal, industrial rock, and post-grunge into a raw, uncompromising expression of survival.

Joel Hokka walked away from Blind Channel convinced his relationship with music had run its course. But fate had other plans. Pauli Rantasalmi, once the guitarist of The Rasmus, stepped in to help Joel sort out the paperwork of a life in transition, and in the process reignited a creative spark neither of them expected. Joined by drummer Jimi, they formed the project Hokka, releasing their debut album Via Miseria IV through Nuclear Blast last April.
For Joel, this music is more than a creative outlet: it is a way to confront the demons that shadow his daily life, a form of therapy he hopes might also resonate with others carrying their own weight.
