Bloodred Hourglass’ long-awaited full-length We Should Be Buried Like This released

Bloodred Hourglass have already received rave reviews for their seventh full-length, and now We Should Be Buried Like This has been released. Released on the German label Out of Line, the album combines explosive aggression with melodic beauty and is, according to the band, the most honest and uncompromising album of their career, without questioning or embellishing, without consoling, explaining or proving – it only says what had to be said.

“For us, this album is a collection of end-time songs – not just about the end of the world, but also about certain emotions, beliefs and illusions. In the songs, love is just an echo, sacrifices feel empty and every feeling is an open wound. We deal with the decay of humanity, mistakes repeated from generation to generation, the spirit of the times that feeds indifference, hatred and detachment, as well as self-centeredness and individualism that has grown to unhealthy proportions. The future looks black, and unfortunately it no longer scares us, but feels inevitable,” the band describes.

Musically, Bloodred Hourglass also combines its recognizable sounds on the album with new elements, as guest soloists are heard on the album for the first time.

“The album exudes raw, intense energy and a melodic beauty and power that is guaranteed to be contagious. We’ve also included a last-gasp amount of new elements: guest voices and moments where we reach outside the box. It feels especially good to stand on our own strong foundations without having to prove anything to anyone. This is an album that was born from a compelling need to tear open and say things as they are. Perhaps that’s why this became the most aggressive and straightforward album we’ve ever made – and perhaps that’s why it looks the most like us.”

The top song of the ten-track album is the last song written on the album, Shun the Limelight, whose music video production swelled to a massive size with 80 fans participating in the filming.

“We wanted something special for the last video song. Usually the fans – the ones who make this whole journey meaningful and possible – are left out of the spotlight. However, we have an incredibly loyal and passionate fan base that has followed and supported the band year after year. With this video, we wanted to give them the opportunity to be a concrete part of the making and step into the spotlight themselves by playing a central role in the video’s creation. The atmosphere on the day of the shoot was exceptionally communal and meaningful – an experience that will surely go down in history as one of the most important music video projects of the band’s career. We are the ones!”

Bloodred Hourglass Video Interview

Finnish metallers Bloodred Hourglass (BRHG) will release their seventh album “We Should Be Buried Like This” through Out of Line Music on October 3rd. This release marks the next chapter in their evolution, pushing their signature sound to new heights. This is the band’s most aggressive album and consists of songs from the end of time.
Hailing from Mikkeli, Finland, BRHG has grown from their thrash metal and groove metal roots to become a dominant force in modern melodic death metal. This six-piece band has refined their sound by fusing metalcore, alternative metal, and electronic elements, while maintaining their signature intensity. Their dynamic, high-energy songs resonate deeply with audiences, cementing their status in Finnish metal and beyond.
We caught up with Eero and Lauri Silvonen after their show at Porispere to learn more about their upcoming album, life on and off stage, and much more.

Porispere 1-2.8.2025, Pori (Finland)

Porispere is a crossover festival held since 2011 in Kirjurinluoto, the island park in the center of Pori, Finland.
As we do every year, we at The Offering attended the festival, which this year took place between August 1st and 2nd.
This year’s festival focused more on punk music, with the exceptional presence of the Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter. On the metal side, Bloodred Hourglass, Turmion Kätilöt, Viikate, and Kotiteollissus took to the stage.
The artists performed on three stages: Raju Lava the main stage, Lokki Lava, and Lagunitas stage.

Opening the first day of the festival was Saimaa, a Finnish post-progressive rock band, followed by Days of Greif, winners of the band competition Porilaine, a young Finnish thrash metal/metalcore band from Pori formed in 2021, who showed their potential on stage.
As always, the undisputed kings of Finnish industrial metal Turmion Kätilöt delivered a top-notch show. The rising powerhouse Bloodred Hourglass performed for the first time in Pori and the audience loved every minute of their show, definitely the best performance of the festival.
The Sex Pistols were the most anticipated band at the festival, playing their classics with the charismatic Frank Carter on vocals, who sang a couple of songs in the middle of the mosh pit, making the whole thing even wilder.
The first day of the festival concluded with Apulanta, a Finnish rock band with punk influences, whose show exceeded expectations and satisfied the many fans who attended.

The second day of the festival started off on a more soft note until Kotiteollisuus, a metal band with over twenty years of experience, took the stage and the audience had the opportunity to let loose, but it took Lähiöbotox, an irreverent and limitless rap-metal band, to unleash the circle pit.
Punk-rock band Klamydia doesn’t disappoint even when they perform for the second time in the same day, the energy of Vesku and company is contagious.
The headliners for the second day of the festival were The Sounds, the Swedish band who had a huge success in the early 2000s with their album “Living in America.”

Day1: Saimaa, Days Of Greif, Turmion Kätilöt, Ursus Factory, Bloodred Hourglass, Sanni, Seksihullut, Herra Ylppö, Sex Pistols ft Frank Carter, Viikate, Atomirotta, Apulanta.
Day2: Egotrippi, Kuusumun Profeetta, Rebekka Holi, Kotiteollisuus, Ellinoora, Absoluutiinen Nollapiste, Lähiöbotox, Olavi Uusivirta, Ismo Alanko, Nössö Nova, Gasellit, Klamydia, Good Boys, The Sounds.
Minispere: Mirella.

Bloodred Hourglass to release We Should Be Buried Like This, an album of end-time songs, in October

Finnish metallers Bloodred Hourglass will release their seventh album, We Should Be Buried Like This, on October 3rd. The band’s most aggressive full-length album consists of songs from the end of time, and will also feature guest soloists for the first time. This is how the band describes the upcoming album:

“We Should Be Buried Like This is our most honest and uncompromising album to date. It doesn’t ask questions or embellish; we don’t try to console, explain or prove anything – we say what had to be said.

For us, the album is a collection of end-of-the-world songs – not just about the end of the world, but also about certain feelings, beliefs and illusions. In the songs, love is just an echo, sacrifices feel empty and every feeling is an open wound. We deal with the decay of humanity, the mistakes repeated from generation to generation, the spirit of the times that feeds indifference, hatred and detachment, as well as self-centeredness and individualism that has grown to unhealthy proportions. The future looks black, and unfortunately it no longer scares us, but feels inevitable.

Musically, we are close to our own core: the album exudes raw, intense energy and guaranteed catchy melodic beauty and strength – a recognizable BRHG sound. We have also included a last breath of new elements: guest voices and moments where we reach outside the box. It feels especially good to stand on our own strong foundations, without the need to prove anything to anyone.

At the heart of the album is a feeling: letting go – without twisting, without filters. Total frustration with the status quo and smoldering anger erupt in the lyrics and explode in every riff. This is an album that was born from a compelling need to tear open and say things as they are. Perhaps that is why this became the most aggressive and straightforward whole we have ever made – and perhaps that is why it looks the most like us.”

In addition to the traditional vinyl and CD formats, the album is available as a limited edition Splatter vinyl and a double CD, which includes a bonus live album of a concert with the Mikkeli City Orchestra, “Live With St. Michel Strings”. Pre-orders for the album are now open.

Bloodred Hourglass releases Royally Done, a single about the collapse of humanity

Bloodred Hourglass are releasing more new music – and revealing that a new album is on the way. The album’s first single was We Should Be Buried Like This, followed by the dark The Crown Is Permanent. The new single, Royally Done, is the third single from their upcoming album We Should Be Buried Like This, which will be released on October 3rd, and is already the band’s seventh. The album will be released via German label Out of Line Music.

“Royally Done started with a looping guitar melody and grew significantly as production progressed, gaining depth layer by layer. The end result is a song that brings out all the core characteristics of Bloodred Hourglass – Royally Done offers the band’s trademark melodies, brutal metalcore-influenced riffing, a diverse and heavy drum roll, and a lively yet fiery guitar solo.”

Along with familiar elements, Royally Done offers a completely new tone: the song features guest soloist Sofia Ricar.

“For the first time in the band’s history, the song features a female guest vocalist. While the melodies are meant to lift the mood, the lyrics tell the opposite story: ecosystems, governments, and humanity are collapsing, and apathy leaves no room for significant corrective action,” the band comments.

Pre-orders for the We Should Be Buried Like This album will be available soon.

Bloodred Hourglass declares war on empty promises – The Crown Is Permanent and its magnificent

Modern metal powerhouse Bloodred Hourglass is releasing a new single. The band treated their fans to rave reviews with the single We Should Be Buried like This earlier this spring, and now they’re following it up with the downright angry The Crown Is Permanent.

“Sometimes all it takes is a spark – and everything explodes. The Crown is Permanent is a dark and angry song that rages on the edge of chaos. Its raw, forward-flowing energy shows no mercy as the brutal guitar riff and jagged synth world violently strike your hand. Lyrically, it’s a declaration of war on false revolutions, empty promises and those who just go along with it. It’s about not being a pawn in someone else’s game – and how you can build something stronger from betrayal. ‘The floodgates are open. Let them learn.’”

Bloodred Hourglass, originally from Mikkeli, will be seen on live stages this weekend, when the band headlines the Black Box Mikkeli event they host: on Friday, Balance Breach and LUNA KILLS will perform at Kulttuuritalo Tempo, and on Saturday, in addition to Bloodred Hourglass, Enemies Everywhere will open the night. After the summer festivals, the band is heading on a European tour and has now revealed that the tour will also continue in Finland: ten gigs are planned for October-November around Finland. Ticket sales for the events will start on Monday, April 28.

New music from Bloodred Hourglass – We Should Be Buried Like This is an apocalyptic metal cannonade

Bloodred Hourglass, a modern metal powerhouse who recently returned from a successful European tour with The Halo Effect and PAIN, is releasing new music! The band’s previous album How’s The Heart? garnered millions of streams on streaming services, plenty of radio airplay and an Emma nomination, and now they’re looking towards the new and the future. The lineup’s latest single is called We Should Be Buried Like This, and its intense metal cannonade is guaranteed to not leave heavy music fans indifferent.

“We Should Be Buried Like This is a fierce combination of old and new BRHG sounds that mercilessly hits you straight in the face. The song’s melody and structure were carefully honed, and the end result is definitely our strongest production to date. The lyrics and the song’s title crystallize the theme of an inevitable end, which also reflects the world around us,” the band says.

“We wanted an honest music video that fits the theme of the song, and that also visually conveys the mood and charge of the song. Our trusted collaborator Riivata Visuals was responsible for the explosive final result.”

Known for their intense live shows, Bloodred Hourglass will be touring extensively throughout the spring and summer, both in Finland and abroad. In April, the band will be seen in their hometown of Mikkeli, where they will host the two-day Black Box Mikkeli presents event, which will also feature Balance Breach, Enemies Everywhere and LUNA KILLS.
