Aussie Thrash Force Decimator Return With Explosive New Single “The Gap”

Wormholedeath is pleased to announce the release of “The Gap,” the new single from Sydney thrash/heavy metal band Decimator.

Musically unrelenting but emotionally complex, “The Gap” tackles the heavy duality of human struggle. Inspired by Sydney’s infamous coastal landmark, the track explores the thin line between tragedy and survival.

“It’s a song about despair and hope,” explains guitarist Caiseal Duncan. “The Gap is a tragic place where many people have gone to end their lives. But after decades, maybe some go there and think again about their decision? Maybe there’s a force that makes them reconsider and return to their life?”

“The Gap” is the first release from Decimator’s forthcoming album and marks the debut of the band’s new lineup, with Ash Pollard now behind the kit.

Founded in January 2021 by Lance Holland-Keen and Mike Le Macchia, Decimator was forged in a shared obsession with old-school thrash and uncompromising heavy metal. The band famously battled through COVID-era restrictions and revolving line-ups before cementing their reputation as a lethal live act, debuting on stage in September 2022.

Following the success of their raw, unfiltered debut album, ’Til The Enemies Are Gone’—recorded in a single session at Powell Lane Studios and released in October 2024 via Wormholedeath—Decimator has consistently proven themselves as one of the hardest-working bands in the modern Australian metal scene. “The Gap” signals an evolution in their sound, combining their signature old-school thrash grit with a massive, modern sonic assault.

Aussie Heavy/Thrash Metal Machine DECIMATOR Are Back With New EP Downfallen

Australian heavy/thrash metal force DECIMATOR return with their new EP Downfallen, out soon via Wormholedeath. The release marks a fierce new chapter for the Sydney-based band, channeling their trademark blend of old-school aggression and sharp modern intensity.

Inspired by Robespierre’s Reign of Terror and the chaos following the fall of the French monarchy, Downfallen captures the brutality, paranoia, and political collapse of revolution through a storm of riff-driven fury and relentless rhythm.

Formed in early 2021, Decimator has undergone a few lineup changes, seeing the band go from strength to strength.
In late 2024, Riley Perry joined the band on bass, bringing a new and even more refined approach to songwriting, having been active in projects such as “Of Flesh” and formerly being part of the thrash metal band Paralysis. Unfortunately, 2025 also saw more changes – but Caiseal Duncan replacing Ethan Reeves on guitar and Ashley Pollard replacing Bon Lowe on drums brought even more fire and ferocity
to the band.
Lance Holland-Keen, now the only original member, leads them on, with this single a small taste of the EP due out later this year.
The band are already writing new material for 2026 and playing shows in Sydney – decimating every stage they step onto.

Decimator Line-Up:

Lance – vox/guitars
Riley Perry – bass/backing vox
Caiseal Duncan – guitars
Bon Lowe – drums on the EP
Ash Pollard is the new drummer for live shows.

Aussie Heavy/Thrash Metallers Decimator Drops Double Single “Warriors”

Australian heavy metal titans Decimator are set to blast through the metal landscape with their electrifying double A-side single “Warriors”, a thunderous homage to historical storytelling that captures the raw essence of classic metal tradition.

Paying tribute to the legendary 7-inch single format of the 70s and 80s, Decimator delivers two meticulously crafted tracks that transport listeners through time and battlefield: “Warriors” and “Wolf of the Plains”. This is not just a musical release; it’s a historical odyssey carved in sonic steel.

“Warriors” emerges as the band’s primordial creation, a track refined through years of musical evolution, unveiling the true story of the Knights Templar without mythological embellishment. Since their very first live performance, this song has been a cornerstone of Decimator’s explosive stage presence.

Complementing “Warriors” is “Wolf of the Plains”, an epic musical journey through the life of Genghis Khan. Inspired by Conn Iggulden’s historical narratives and tipping a respectful hat to Iron Maiden’s legendary storytelling, the track promises to be a metal history lesson unlike any other.

Engineered at The Confectionery in Newtown and mixed by Josh Szafranski of STE Studios, the single represents the band’s commitment to authentic, powerful metal.

Building on their 2024 release “Til the Enemies are Gone”, Decimator continues to forge a unique path in heavy metal. Their music transcends traditional boundaries, exploring historical figures, environmental challenges, and human struggles with unflinching intensity.

The band is already preparing for future releases, with plans for another conceptual double single exploring the complexities of the modern world.
