Romanian Folkcore DIRTY SHIRT Teams Up with Hungarian Legends Besh o droM for Explosive Duo Version of “Büntető”

Dirty Shirt, one of Eastern Europe’s most innovative and high‑energy metal bands, announces the release of their new single “Büntető”, a powerful collaborative re‑imagining of the Hungarian folk hit originally performed by world‑renowned group Besh o droM. The track marks the second single from Dirty Shirt’s next studio album, following the success of their first preview, “FOMO.”

The collaboration brings together two of the region’s most dynamic musical forces, blending Dirty Shirt’s signature heavy, dance‑driven metal with Besh o droM’s virtuosic approach to Eastern European and Balkan folk traditions. The result is a 194 BPM explosion of energy, featuring 16 musicians and a seamless fusion of traditional instrumentation with modern metal intensity.

Dirty Shirt describes the partnership with Besh o droM as natural, inspiring, and full of mutual respect.

“We are very happy to have made this collaboration. We love Besh o droM’s music, and it was wonderful to see how open they were to working together with us. One of the highlights was performing the song together at Dirty Fest 2025, and part of the video includes footage from that incredible concert,” says the band’s leader, Mihai Tivada.

Dirty Shirt has been performing their live version of “Büntető” for over a year, including a standout moment at Pol’and’Rock Festival 2025, where the song became one of the most celebrated highlights of their set. Fans have been eagerly awaiting an official release.

“Many fans already know the song from our concerts, and it always gets an incredible reaction. We’re confident they’ll love this studio version, especially since we’re teaming up with one of the greatest gypsy/folk/rock bands from Hungary, Besh o droM,” adds Mihai.

At its core, “Büntető” is about positive, uplifting energy and the belief that music transcends borders. Lyrically inspired by traditional Hungarian folk themes, the song tells a vivid story rooted in village life, relationships, and raw human emotion. Musically, it merges the fiery spirit of gypsy folk with Dirty Shirt’s unmistakable modern folkcore metal sound.

The release of “Büntető” also comes as Dirty Shirt wraps up their triumphant Dirtylicious Decade Tour, with 8 of 11 shows sold out, and prepares for a packed summer festival season, including their third appearance at Wacken Open Air in Germany.

Romanian Folkcore DIRTY SHIRT Shares Full Live Set at Pol’and’Rock Festival 2025 + Announce “Dirtylicious Decade Tour”

Dirty Shirt has released the full video of their explosive 2025 performance at Pol’and’Rock Festival, one of Europe’s largest and most iconic open‑air music events.

The 2025 edition marked a major milestone for the Romanian folk‑metal collective: their third Pol’and’Rock appearance, placing them alongside Dubioza Kolektiv as the only non‑Polish acts to have played the festival three times.

Dirty Shirt’s history with Pol’and’Rock is deeply intertwined with the festival’s spirit of community, charity, and musical diversity. In 2021, the band made their Pol’and’Rock debut during the special pandemic‑restricted edition, performing for a reduced audience of 20,000. In 2022, Dirty Shirt returned triumphantly after winning the Golden Spinning Top (Złoty Bączek), the public‑voted contest that determines which artist opens the next edition of the festival. Past winners include major international names such as Clawfinger, Papa Roach, Sabaton, Anthrax, Bring Me The Horizon, Avatar, Amon Amarth, and others. And their third and most recent appearance in 2025 came as part of EERA, the Eastern European Rock Alliance, an EU‑funded cultural collaboration. Dirty Shirt was one of the flagship bands of the project, making their return to Pol’and’Rock both symbolic and artistically meaningful.

Despite the excitement, the road to the 2025 stage was anything but easy. The band had traveled more than 16 hours from Romania to northern Poland the day before the show, arriving late at night. Show day began at 4:30 a.m. for a 6 a.m. soundcheck, with the hotel located over an hour from the festival grounds. By the time Dirty Shirt stepped on stage, it was well past midnight.

“Beyond the fatigue, playing at Pol’and’Rock always feels like coming alive again. The Polish audience, one of the most intense, passionate crowds we have ever played for, gives the energy back a hundredfold and reminds you why you do this in the first place,” shares the band.

Often described as “the biggest open‑air festival in Europe,” Pol’and’Rock is a free, charity‑driven event organized as a thank‑you to the volunteers and supporters of WOSP, The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. WOSP’s annual Grand Finale raises funds for hospitals across Poland, more than $52 million USD in the most recent edition, and the festival stands as a cultural celebration of that nationwide effort.

Beyond music, Pol’and’Rock hosts workshops, conferences, and a wide range of artistic and educational activities, making it one of Europe’s most unique cultural gatherings.

Dirty Shirt is once again eligible for the Golden Spinning Top contest, and fans who want to support the band’s return to Pol’and’Rock in 2026 can vote online (email confirmation required): https://polandrockfestival.pl/o-festiwalu/zloty-baczek

The complete live set of their landmark third appearance at Pol’and’Rock 2025 is now available to watch online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v67KzzE6ivk

Romanian Folkcore DIRTY SHIRT Celebrates 30 Years with New Video “FOMO” and 2025 EU Tour Dates

Widely regarded as one of the most original and successful rock bands in Eastern Europe, Romania’s Dirty Shirt is celebrating 30 years of creating and performing music with the release of their first single of 2025 “FOMO” accompanied by a music video along with announcing 2025 EU tout dates (listed below).

“FOMO” is the first single from Dirty Shirt‘s upcoming seventh album (titled to be revealed at a later date) to follow “Get Your Dose Now!” (2022). Musically, it is a journey through different moments and places, blending various genres: from 80s disco to Balkan music, all built on a metal foundation. It’s a catchy song, with a chorus that sticks in your mind, radiating big positive energy. Lyrically, the song addresses one of the issues of modern society—the fear of missing out (FOMO). This phenomenon has become widespread with the rise of social media, where people constantly compare themselves to others and feel pressured to be part of every trend or experience.
