Finnish Turku-based melodic death metal band Frostbite Terror released their debut album ‘Into The Frozen Depths’ on July 24th 2026 via Inverse Records. 

Into The Frozen Depths is a compilation of various real life and fictional events. A wanderer wades through the snows to take a sauna as hot as Hell itself, enters the depths and rides to battle after consuming malt beverages. The final interpretation remains with the listener.

“We’ve been working on the record for a few years. The songs were ready around summer 2024, and naturally we wanted to publish them. Originally an EP, Into The Frozen Depths developed into an LP with the addition of “Maan Multa”. This song adds a nice ballad in the mix of blasting and grinding. Finnish Turku-based melodic death metal band Frostbite Terror is set to release new EP later in 2025. The second single ‘Gehenna’ is out now.

“Massive sounds support furious blasting that won’t leave you cold. The greatest things in Finland, metal and sauna, are combined like never seen before. Listen to this tale of a sauna stove opening up a portal to hell and a face-off with the devil himself!

Gehenna is a kind of survival story from an afterparty where all food and drink is gone. This melodic piece with wall-of-sound guitars is then a good tune to warm up the sauna and enjoy the rest of the night, maybe even mosh listening to the riffs. While dreaming of a delivery of drinks the stove heats up to glowing hot and temperature rises above comfortable, representing hellfire. At that point what else can you do than take a thorough steam bath and relax.”

“Sometimes bathing in a sauna escalates to a hellish experience, so why not make a song out of that. Based on a true story (maybe with small embellishments). The song steamrolls forward like many Finnish heavy classics. That makes it a perfect backdrop for telling tall tales about how much heat we can take in the sauna.”
