Hellsinki Metal Festival expands to the waves of the Baltic Sea – First Hellsinki Metal Cruise from Helsinki to Stockholm on November 7th

Hellsinki Metal Festival will put on a black leather vest and set sail for the end of the year! The first Hellsinki Metal Cruise will be held from 7th to 9th November, when the Viking Cinderella will be loaded with metal music and a side program with artist meetings on its journey from Helsinki to Stockholm and back.

The first performers of the two-night metal cruise, which is intended to be a tradition, will be revealed soon, but promoter Toni Törrönen is already giving a hint of what is to come:

“The Hellsinki Metal Cruise will be very similar in spirit to the Hellsinki Metal Festival. And this is not limited to the bands, but also to the spirit of the entire cruise. There will also be other programs that I hope will be a hit,” Toni says with a smile.

All tickets and cabin classes for the cruise are now on sale at: www.vikingline.fi/hmc.

Hellsinki Metal Festival bill complete: Venom, Michael Schenker’s UFO special gig and Cult of Luna – HMF art exhibition application open

Hellsinki Metal Festival, which will be held for the third time in the Helsinki Ice Hall alias Nordis area, today announced the full list of performers for this year’s event.

The latest additions to HMF are the English band Venom, who deserves the word “legendary”, who has been pounding away with their extreme metal since 1979, Michael Schenker, who is coming to Hellsink with his My Years with UFO special gig, the Swedish band Cult of Luna, who are painting epic worlds, and the Belgian grindcore phenomenon Brutal Sphincter. In addition, Finnish expertise will be strengthened by the Rabbit Cult duo, who got a sudden start to their careers last year.

Hellsinki Metal Festival‘s side program is also being built at a fast pace, and the art exhibition Dark Art Gallery, which was launched last year, will open its doors to new artists more widely this year. The open application to participate in the exhibition is now open at https://gest.fi/customers/chbfig/7785. The curator of the exhibition, to be revealed later, will be working on the exhibition that will be shown at Nordis this year during the spring.

HMF’s VIP area, or RIP, will also be developed this year, when RIP visitors will be taken care of by adding a daily hot meal to their ticket. As usual, RIP customers will have access to their own indoor toilet and a view of the event directly on two outdoor stages in a rain-covered area.

Previously announced artists for this year’s Hellsinki Metal Festival include, among others, King Diamond, Old Man’s Child, Decapitated, Napalm Death, Ill Niño, Fear Factory, Dismember, AngelMaker, Hatebreed, Enslaved, Landmvrks, Kanonenfieber, Candlemass, Moonsorrow, Forbidden, Marduk, Me and That Man, Warmen, Party Cannon, GosT and Alfahanne.

Nordis will also host one of the most interesting performances of the coming summer, when the Blood Fire Death – A Tribute to Quorthon and the music of Bathory gig brings together a special lineup consisting of the crew of Watain, Aura Noir and Enslaved, among others. There are also some still-unknown, but quite famous guests. The gigs that will be seen at a few festivals next summer will honor the musical legacy of the late Thomas “Quorthon” Forsberg.

Next summer’s Hellsinki Metal Festival includes King Diamond, a special Bathory gig, Ill Niño, Decapitated and Napalm Death.

Hellsinki Metal Festival, which has established itself among the metal community in just two years, announced more of its performers for next summer, and the list is quite convincing to read.

The festival, which will be held as usual in the Helsinki Ice Hall area, will now also feature King Diamond, who enjoy cult status in Finland, the Norwegian black metal band Old Man’s Child, who are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, the Polish death metal pride Decapitated and the British grindcore giant Napalm Death. The foreign guest lineup is rounded out by Ill Niño, one of the most interesting names in the new wave of American nu metal, Fear Factory, which was founded in Los Angeles in 1989, Scandinavian death metal pioneer Dismember and AngelMaker, who play solid deathcore.

Nordis will also host one of the most interesting performances of the coming summer, when the Blood Fire Death – A Tribute to Quorthon and the music of Bathory gig brings together a special lineup consisting of Watain, Aura Noir and Enslaved, among others. There are also some very famous guests who are still being kept secret. The gigs that will be seen at a few festivals next summer will pay tribute to the musical legacy of the late Thomas “Quorthon” Forsberg. Bathory has also been inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame as one of the few heavy metal musicians.

“The show is based on Quorthon’s vision of what he imagined a Bathory concert would be like if it had ever been brought to live stages – 20 years after his death. Quorthon still sends shivers down our spines and twists our brains with his music,” says Eric Danielsson of Watain, who is the lead vocalist of the lineup arriving in Hellsinki Metal Festival.

Other new acts at next year’s Hellsinki Metal Festival include Luna Kills, Night Shall Drape Us, Qwälen, Decessus and Heavy Metal Perse.

Hellsinki Metal Festival has already released the first lineup of its performers for next year, which includes Hatebreed, Enslaved, Landmvrks, Kanonenfieber, Candlemass, Moonsorrow, Forbidden, Marduk, Me and That Man, Warmen, Sigh, Kiuas, Party Cannon, GosT and Alfahanne.

Hellsinki Metal Festival’s cheaper tickets are still on sale until the end of this year.

Batushka will complete Hellsinki Metal Festival – Winter Edition 2024 indoor festival Kaapelitehdas in Helsinki on December 14th

Hellsinki Metal Festival – Winter Edition 2024 indoor festival, which was previously announced this fall, is today announcing a great new addition to the event held at Kaapelitehdas in Helsinki . In addition to Dark Funeral, Belphegor, Kyy and Omnivortex, the Polish band Batushka will be performing at the event on December 14th.

Batushka is a black metal band founded by Krzysztof Drabikowski, which combines the traditional liturgical singing tradition of the Orthodox Church with its music. The band, which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary next year, split into two bands in 2018, of which Batushka, which can now be seen at Kaapelitehdas, is the band founder Drabikowski’s own band, considered by many to be the original Batushka.

After the band’s changes, Batushka’s 2019 album Panihida (Панихида) received good reviews, and the band has been seen in Finland at numerous successful gigs in recent years – including at the Hellsinki Metal Festival in the event’s inaugural year. Batushka’s latest album “Tsaryu Nebesnyy” was released in 2021.

Tickets for the Hellsinki Metal Festival – Winter Edition 2024 event are now on sale at Ticketmaster. In addition to basic tickets, the event also includes RIP tickets, which include access to a private area with a direct view of the stage, private sanitary facilities, a bar and a smoking area. RIP members also receive a lanyard and a wristband that serve as an entrance ticket to the RIP area.

Hellsinki Metal Festival 2025: Hatebreed, Enslaved, Landmvrks, Candlemass e Moonsorrow.

Hellsinki Metal Festival, sold out on Saturdays this summer, reveled the first part of its coverage for 2025. As in the first two years of the event, there will be an interesting cross-section of the peaks of international and Finnish metal – without forgetting surprising names.

The bands announced are Hatebreed, Enslaved, Landmvrks, Kanonenfieber, Candlemass, Moonsorrow, Forbidden, Marduk, Me and That Man, Warmen, Sigh, Kiuas, Party Cannon, GosT and Alfahanne.

Advance tickets for Hellsinki Metal Festival are on sale at Ticketmaster, Tiketti and Lippupiste. Only a limited number of two-day discount tickets available for sale now.

Toni Törrönen, promoter of Hellsinki Metal Festival, says that there is no need to change the proven line. The size of the artist is also not the only factor that decides the choice of bands for the event.

“Artist selections are always based on quality, customer feedback and exclusivity. I have experienced that Hellsinki Metal Festival’s customers appreciate the fact that the program includes bands and special gigs that they might not have expected,” says Toni Törrönen.

As usual, Hellsinki Metal Festival takes place in the area of the Helsinki Ice Hall, where two outdoor stages and the ice rink itself are used by festival visitors. The area of side events and points expanded last year will be developed this year. Toni Törrönen says that the biggest change visible to visitors at Nordis will be related to the size of the outdoor stages.

“Two years of experience has shown that the Helsinki Ice Hall area is overall a good home for the Hellsinki Metal Festival.”

Hellsinki Metal Festival – Winter Edition 2024 at Helsinki Kaapelitehdas on December 14 – Dark Funeral, Belphegor, Kyy and Omnivortex

The Hellsinki Metal Festival, which sold out on its second day last August, is also expanding into a winter event. Hellsinki Metal Festival – Winter Edition 2024 roars on December 14 at Helsinki’s Kaapelitehdas, and the performers of the first indoor festival will be Dark Funeral, one of the best in Swedish black metal, Belphegor, Austria’s gift to lovers of blackened death metal, and domestic experts in the field Kyy and Omnivortex.

Kaapelitehdas was not chosen as the venue for the event by chance – metal has been celebrated in the same place during the years of the Finnish Metal Expo fair, and Hellsinki Metal Festival promoter Toni Törrönen also remembers those events fondly.

“Ever since FME ended, I’ve wanted to bring a metal event to Kaapelitehdas that would have a somewhat similar atmosphere. I and many others have been missing that mood and I hope this event will now meet those wishes,” says Toni Törrönen.

Hellsinki Metal Festival – Winter Edition 2024 tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster. In addition to the basic tickets, RIP tickets are also available for the event, already familiar from Hellsinki Metal Festival, which include, in addition to admission, a private area with a direct view of the stage, private sanitary facilities, a bar and a smoking area. RIP people also get a working lanyard and wristband as an entrance ticket to the RIP area.
