King Satan, one of the top industrial metal bands in Finland, released a real party song based on a summer hit, after all it is Britney Spears‘s huge hit (You Drive Me) Crazy, which fits perfectly into King Satan’s “death metal disco” style.

“There is more than one person in this band who has a very high regard for the early production of pop icon Britney Spears. For all of us, there was something about the pop music of the late 90s and early 2000s, and (You Drive Me) Crazy is one of those songs that perfectly encapsulates that era!”, King Aleister Satan summarizes and continues:

“Its energetic and uplifting atmosphere, with a touch of melancholy, catchy rhythms and great melodies, has still not disappeared from our collective consciousness! All of this turned into industrial metal and King Satan’s style surprisingly effortlessly on top of that.”

King Satan will release their new album Black Magick Abraxas on November 6th, but this song won’t be featured on it. Understandably, the legal ramifications of one of the world’s biggest hits have also turned out to be quite a jungle, but the band is happy that the single is released with a music video.

“This is our tribute to the eternal return of pop culture, which programs our subconscious to understand that a good song is a good song regardless of genre.”

King Satan has previously released the single Light of Darkness from his upcoming album and the single Black Magick Rock ‘N’ Roll, made with blues guitarist Erja Lyytinen. Those songs will also be heard live at the first shows of the release tour, which have now been announced:

King Satan, who provided a real surprise in March with the release of the single Black Magick Rock ‘N’ Roll in collaboration with the blues guitarist Erja Lyytinen, has announced the release date of his upcoming album. The Black Magick Abraxas album, via Nuclear Blast’s Blood Blast Distribution, will be released on November 6th, and now it has a song that may affect metal listeners in a surprising way, like a tunnel to a new world:

“Light of Darkness is industrial metal for people who don’t like industrial metal. And this song probably isn’t even industrial metal. Like probably half of our songs aren’t either. But that’s not important. What is important, of course, is that this song has blast beats and disco beats mixed together. We’re a pretty hard band to categorize, but unfortunately we make music to listen to and not to categorize. In this song too, you can hear influences from symphonic metal, classical music and religious hymns, combined with our rocking industrial metal (which isn’t even industrial metal) and to which you can dance and/or mosh,” King Aleister Satan comments.

King Satan’s “death metal disco” style has freed the band to a very diverse expression, which is also visible in the cover art for the upcoming album designed by M. T. Salminen. The path paved with black humor and the band’s internal “beauty and the beast” theme is a path to develop all kinds of joy. The new joyful single released now reflects King Satan’s common thread, where the sensible thing is that things don’t necessarily make sense.
