Feuerschwanz, one of Germany’s most successful folk metal bands, released quite a surprise from their upcoming album yesterday – The band covers the party hit of the last decade, Gangnam Style, in their joyful style! The epic metal version of PSY’s most famous song is also accompanied by a music video, which is just as wild as you would expect from these warriors.
“The only real cover song on our album – a K-pop hit from 2012! This is like a kind of dance between worlds, now with violins, bagpipes and a hefty dose of metal! No one asked us to do this – but we did it anyway!”, the band says.
The Knightclub album has previously featured Lords Of Fyre feat. Lord of the Lost, which is preparing for the upcoming joint tour, as well as the title single Knightclub, with which Feuerschwanz attracted widespread attention in the German Eurovision qualifiers. The album, which will be released on July 25th, will be released by Napalm Records. It is also the band’s first album with an English title and bilingual lyrics.

Feuerschwanz has been forging its own path for two decades, and the work has paid off in the form of successful arena tours and top spots on the official German album chart. The tongue-in-cheek attitude has been with the band since its inception. Feuerschwanz’s sole founding member, bassist Peter Henrici, has said that he thinks the genre is taken too seriously in folk circles.’
