Rising star of Finnish metal ARTKILLS has released a new single called Final Frontier. The song is the band’s third single for 2025, preceded by a successful cover of Robbie Williams’ hit Angels on TikTok, and Tightrope, which has increased the band’s popularity tremendously, featuring the award-winning Redrama.
The song is a strong follow-up to the Tightrope feat. Redrama single released in the fall, which took the band to completely new heights. Tightrope received a lot of media exposure and already collected tens of thousands of listeners and streams in the first month.
“Final Frontier is a tribute to our childhood idols. The song has been described among the band as ‘a testosterone-charged child of Slipknot and In Flames’, combining the nu-metal brutality of the early 2000s with the precision of modern metal,” says drummer Jesse Ågrén.
Founded in 2020, ARTKILLS is a modern metal band from Helsinki, whose music combines heavy riffs, danceable grooves and memorable vocal melodies. The band members are passionate musicians, all of whom share a touch of old school attitude. Together with the lineup that has developed a recognizable sound, these factors create a perfect addition to the field of modern metal.
The band’s debut single Last Goodbyes was released in September 2021. The song, which has been played over 50,000 times on Spotify, built a promising foundation and served as a trend-setter for the band seeking its place in the metal world.
The second single The Fall, released in November of the same year, received welcome media attention. In conjunction with the song, ARTKILLS also released their first music video, which was directed and filmed by Esa Jussila, who has made videos for Battle Beast, among others.
The five-song EP KillGallery, which followed The Game and the Remix That Shi#t collection, was released in late 2022. Don’t Follow, which was released as a single earlier that year, offered a taste of what was to come, including a music video. Seamlessly polished elements combined with tight guitar solos further strengthened the band’s line.
ARTKILLS, who have been actively releasing music since the beginning, have received a lot of attention in the media. The band was chosen as the demo band of the month by the music magazine Inferno in spring 2022 and in 2024 by Kaaoszinen as one of the most interesting young metal bands of the moment.
