Year Of The Goat – Trivia Goddess

Swedish occult rock collective Year Of The Goat invokes dark magic to concoct the epic soundscapes of the witchy fourth studio album “Trivia Goddess”.
“The Power of Eve” marks a straightforward beginning with the high energy of big guitar riffs and extensive bombastic solos while melodic somber tones and solemn choirs channel a medieval spirit.
On the title track the mood gradually becomes darker yet guitars maintain a playful approach with recurrent wild leads but the arcane chanting in the finale reveals an ancient ritualistic essence.
“Kiss of a Serpent” features a bewitching rocker style focusing on the memorable guitar driven grooves and the wicked chorus embellished by multilayered ghastly atmospheric arrangements.
“Mét Agwe” is the result of an elaborate composition that favors entertaining rhythmic patterns and slow burning darkened melodic progressions enhanced by the vintage guitar sound and the theatrical vocal delivery.
“Witch of the Woods” immediately showcases a thrilling groovy core putting the spotlight once again on the masterful guitar work effortlessly shifting from inflamed riffs to soothing harmonies but the atmospheric ending brings ghoulish vibes.
As self proclaimed torchbearers of occult rock Year Of The Goat keep their promises delivering the right dosage of retro moody catchiness and delicious sinister vibes throughout “Trivia Goddess”.
