Swedish band Sabaton, who have risen to become one of the world’s biggest power metal bands, released their Legends album in October, and now the album’s grandiose music videos have also been continued. The original song for the new Crossing The Rubicon video was also released in September as a special version, featuring Jonny Hawkins and Mark Vollelunga from Nothing More, both of whom are currently under the Better Noise Music label.
“This was one of the most enjoyable music videos we’ve ever made. Everything flowed naturally thanks to the great energy of the actors and the unique atmosphere of the location. We filmed for two days at the Teatro all’Antica in Sabbioneta, Italy, which is one of the oldest surviving indoor theaters in Europe. The place had a lot of character and history. Since the theater is a museum during the day, we were only able to film in the evenings, which brought its own challenges to the production,” says bassist Pär Sundström.
The album, which focuses on the stories of history’s most legendary figures, features adventures by, among others, the Knights Templar, Julius Caesar, Genghis Khan, Vlad the Impaler, Hannibal and Napoleon Bonaparte. The album achieved great chart success after its release, reaching number two on the US metal and rock charts and the iTunes global album chart.
