Rabbit Cult is a Finnish “bunnymetal” duo formed by musicians Salla-Marja Hätinen and Marianne Heikkinen. The band is known for its unique and eccentric style, blending heavy electronic pop-metal, traditional Finnish folklore, and elements of Kawaii culture. A distinctive feature of their sound is the incorporation of the kantele (a traditional Finnish string instrument), played by Salla-Marja. The duo has quickly gained popularity in the European alternative scene thanks to singles such as “Cute AF,” “Pink Rifle,” “Bunny Anthem,” and “Row Zero.” They perform live regularly, having opened for legendary Finnish metal bands like Lordi and appeared at major international festivals such as SXSW London. The band met with The Offering after their show at Logomo Terassi in Turku, where they opened for Lordi, to discuss their origins, music, creative process, aesthetic, upcoming shows, and what 2027 holds in store for them.
