“From the ashes rises a new world, a new chapter” – Northern Genocide released a first single from the forthcoming third album

Finnish modern melodic metal band Northern Genocide released a single ‘New World’ via Inverse Records. The track is taken from the as-yet-untitled third album.

LISTEN: https://push.fm/fl/northern-genocide-new-world

From the ashes rises a new world, a new chapter. The new Northern Genocide track “New World” turns the knobs up to eleven and unleashes their renewed sound. The lyrics for New World were written by Northern Genocide’s new vocalist, Joni Parkkinen.

“New World is a story about how humanity’s greed has driven nature to turn against us. The song gives a voice to Gaia, tormented by a morbid misanthropy and a desire to cleanse humanity of the disease that threatens her. She offers you a chance to reach out your hand and step into a new world — one that lives by the laws of nature.”

— Joni Parkkinen

“The song was created more collectively than ever before, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. Let this be a storm warning of what’s to come from our upcoming full-length studio album”, says the band.

Northern Genocide has always been about finding new ways of combining musical elements without genre restrictions. It all started as an industrial metal project in 2010 aiming to combine exciting electronic elements with aggressive metal riffs. Today it could be described as modern metal or melodic death metal. NG has always embraced the freedom to create music exactly the way they want. Because of that, all of their releases have a distinct sound that has evolved over the years. The first releases ”Atlantis” and ”Planet Asylum” are known for their aggressive synth driven tracks but the latest two releases ”Genesis vol. 666” and ”The Point of No Return” already featured more melodic and orchestral elements. Strong and complex guitar riffs combined with aggressive growl vocals have always the core of their sound.

In 2025 NG  is working on 3rd full length studio album with new vocalist Joni Parkkinen. The album will come out in 2026.

Line-up:

Vocals: Joni Parkkinen

Lead guitars: Pyry Pohjanpalo

Rhythm guitars: Jussi Pulliainen

Greek Heavy/Power Metal Force SIRIUS Present “Edge of the World” (Official Video)

Heavy/power metal veterans SIRIUS are proud to announce the release of their high-energy official video for the track, “Edge of the World.” The song is a standout track from their critically acclaimed debut full-length album, A Quest for Life, out now worldwide via WormholeDeath Records.

“Edge of the World” has quickly solidified its place as a fan favorite, driven by its combination of heavy, cutting guitars, a massive wall-of-sound rhythm section, and an irresistible, sing-along chorus.

The official video is a direct testament to the band’s powerful live presence, featuring footage captured during their A Quest for Life album release party. Every frame vividly captures the electric atmosphere and mutual energy shared between the band and their devoted audience that night.

A Quest for Life marks SIRIUS’s long-awaited full-length debut, delivering a powerful statement that defines modern heavy/power metal. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by producer David Prudent at Made in Hell Studios, who focused on achieving a massive, organic sound—with “no triggers, no A.I., just pure metal.”
The record is a comprehensive blend of everything the band stands for, packed with anthemic choruses, unstoppable twin-guitar riffs, and a crushing rhythm section. Further cementing its status as a must-hear release, the album features guest contributions from metal icons Tim “Ripper” Owens and Derek Sherinian, with striking artwork by Jon Toussas (Graphic no Jutsu).

Formed in Athens, Greece, in 2007 and led by guitarist and vocalist Dimitris Napas, SIRIUS quickly established themselves as a formidable force in the Greek metal scene. After refining their lineup, they released their debut EP, Wings of Fire, in 2017, celebrating with a sold-out show.

They have since built a strong live presence, performing at festivals such as Under the Quarry and sharing the stage with artists like Luke Appleton (Iced Earth).
A Quest for Life is a testament to the band’s persistent dedication and marks their powerful return via WormholeDeath Records.

Last May, Sirius won the Rockwave Festival competition and performed at Greece’s biggest metal festival, sharing the stage with Savatage and Michael Schenker.

Finnish-Polish melancholic metal band Depressure’s new single is a story about setting your targets and refusing to live by someone else’s expectations

”Worst Is Yet to Come” is a heavy rock track. The title song of the full-length album, coming out in January 2026, hits you like a Volvo 850. Groovy riffing with melancholic touches nods to bands like Opeth, Sentenced & Kingston Wall. It’s a story about setting your targets and refusing to live by someone else’s expectations. While the upcoming album also has gentler vibes, this one is “Balls to the wall”!

“Stop fooling around, take control, and get the job done — because the worst is yet to come. Depressure: born in Joensuu, reborn in Poland — melancholic-rock audio massage since 2006.” the band hype up.

Listen to the single on music services (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal etc.): https://push.fm/fl/depressure-wiytc

Depressure. Heavy moods and aching emotions. From melancholic yearning to modern heavy rock, it drills into your brain like a Makita 666. Born in Joensuu, Finland, 2006. Two demos, a few shows, then a decade of silence. In early 2018, Depressure was dragged out of the grave, and the first album was composed and recorded by Antti Heikura. “September” came out on February 19th, 2020.

A new lineup took shape in Antti’s new home country, Poland. Gigs in Gdańsk, more sweat, more drilling. In autumn ‘24, recording of the next album began. Worst is Yet to Come” is set to release in January 2026 and the band is ready to freeze audiences with their northern rock

The Finnish progressive thrash metal band Krateros to release debut EP in January – first single ‘Linguicide’ out now

The Finnish progressive thrash metal band Krateros is set to release their debut EP ‘Lost in Translation’ on January 30th 2026 via Inverse Records. The first single ‘Linguicide’ is unleashed today and it’s available on all essential streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/krateros-linguicide

The band comments:
” “Linguicide” is the first taste of our upcoming EP “Lost in Translation.” With its catchy groove and memorable guitar melody, it is arguably the most “commercial” track from the EP, yet it contains a great blend of all the elements that make our music what it is. Musically, the song is the oldest one on the EP, with the first demo going as far back as February 2020. Lyrically, the song went through two or three rewrites before finding its final form. Some of the discarded ideas have since been used in songs meant for future releases. As a product of our times, “Linguicide” deals with cancel culture and the death of independent thought, whether through self-censorship or outside pressure.”

Krateros is an emerging metal band from Helsinki, Finland, founded in 2023 and led by vocalist/guitarist and main songwriter Saku Rekonen. The band’s music combines influences from old-school thrash metal bands such as Annihilator, Exodus, and Megadeth with more contemporary acts like Trivium, Machine Head, and Stam1na — all the while being filtered through a progressive lens.

The band’s first EP, “Lost in Translation,” released through Inverse Records, is a response to a perceived lack of riffs that seems to plague the metal scene of the 2020s.

Line-up:
Saku Rekonen – Vocals & Guitar
Roni Helminen – Bass & Backing vocals
Touko Kaihola – Drums

Prog giant Soen releases new single “Mercenary”

Swedish progressive metal giants Soen have released the second single from their upcoming album Reliance, which will be released on January 16, 2026 via Silver Lining Music.

The new single, Mercenary, is a dark song that explores the legacy of violence and personal beliefs.

“Mercenary is about the violence we inherit – the hatred that seeps into our lives and shapes generations. Musically, it has all the core Soen traits, namely heavy elements, melody and surgically precise playing,” says singer Joel Ekelöf.

The first single from the Reliance album, Primal, was released in September. The song is an intense, existential outburst, where Ekelöf’s interpretation transports the listener into the struggle between the human mind and the world.

With their seventh studio album, Soen continues their exploration of the boundaries between light and shadow, strength and sensitivity, and heaviness and peace. Reliance is an honest and strong entity, where humanity and truth meet bold compositions. On the album, Soen continues to develop towards an ever deeper, more human and emotionally charged expression.

In 2026, Soen will head out on another extensive tour, which will include several festival appearances and headline gigs around the world.

“Final Frontier” is the heaviest release to date from Finnish metal rising star ARTKILLS

Rising star of Finnish metal ARTKILLS has released a new single called Final Frontier. The song is the band’s third single for 2025, preceded by a successful cover of Robbie Williams’ hit Angels on TikTok, and Tightrope, which has increased the band’s popularity tremendously, featuring the award-winning Redrama.

The song is a strong follow-up to the Tightrope feat. Redrama single released in the fall, which took the band to completely new heights. Tightrope received a lot of media exposure and already collected tens of thousands of listeners and streams in the first month.
“Final Frontier is a tribute to our childhood idols. The song has been described among the band as ‘a testosterone-charged child of Slipknot and In Flames’, combining the nu-metal brutality of the early 2000s with the precision of modern metal,” says drummer Jesse Ågrén.
Founded in 2020, ARTKILLS is a modern metal band from Helsinki, whose music combines heavy riffs, danceable grooves and memorable vocal melodies. The band members are passionate musicians, all of whom share a touch of old school attitude. Together with the lineup that has developed a recognizable sound, these factors create a perfect addition to the field of modern metal.

The band’s debut single Last Goodbyes was released in September 2021. The song, which has been played over 50,000 times on Spotify, built a promising foundation and served as a trend-setter for the band seeking its place in the metal world.

The second single The Fall, released in November of the same year, received welcome media attention. In conjunction with the song, ARTKILLS also released their first music video, which was directed and filmed by Esa Jussila, who has made videos for Battle Beast, among others.

The five-song EP KillGallery, which followed The Game and the Remix That Shi#t collection, was released in late 2022. Don’t Follow, which was released as a single earlier that year, offered a taste of what was to come, including a music video. Seamlessly polished elements combined with tight guitar solos further strengthened the band’s line.

ARTKILLS, who have been actively releasing music since the beginning, have received a lot of attention in the media. The band was chosen as the demo band of the month by the music magazine Inferno in spring 2022 and in 2024 by Kaaoszinen as one of the most interesting young metal bands of the moment.
