Avant-Garde Black/Death Metal Force Nervous Drops “Heavy is the Head that Wears an Imaginary Crown” Lyric Video

Avant-garde black/death metal project Nervous is proud to unveil the lyric video for their powerful new track, “Heavy is the Head that Wears an Imaginary Crown.” Taken from the highly anticipated album Acquiescence, set for release on March 28, 2025, via Wormholedeath.

The track serves as a fierce allegory for the mental battles we face—particularly themes of self-doubt, loss of control, and the haunting persistence of inner conflict. Through regal and wartime imagery, “Heavy is the Head that Wears an Imaginary Crown” casts the psyche as a kingdom under siege, where the ruler (the self) is caught in a fierce struggle against both internal demons and external pressures. The metaphorical “grey ooze” represents the suffocating force of depression and societal decay, relentlessly overtaking everything in its path.

Pre-save “Acquiescence” here:orcd.co/acquiescence

Nervous, the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Aaron Ciesielski, emerged from profound personal growth and self-discovery. Born amidst an existential crisis, “Acquiescence” is a concept album that chronicles this transformative journey, capturing the essence of rebellion, fear, and ultimately, the profound acceptance of self.

Swedish hard rock band Blister Brigade released the third single & music video Disturbing Lights from their forthcoming fourth album A Rioting New Breed

Swedish Hard Rock / Heavy Metal band Blister Brigade is set to release their fourth studio album ‘A Rioting New Breed’ on April 25th 2025 via Inverse Records. The third single ‘Disturbing Lights’ was unleashed on March 12th and the music video can be seen here: https://youtu.be/3i9CwyW17sI

The band comments:
“This mid-tempo song was one of the first that was written for the new album. It plays with both heavy riffs and melodic, clean guitars. The pre-chorus with its strong melodies and cool drumbeat goes into a powerful chorus that is lifting the song to another level. Also, the clean outro with its harmonies, adds a depth to the song.

The title came about after loosing sleep over a half-broken lightbulb that was flashing on and off though the night. But because of a fever-condition, there was no ability to do anything about it. As far as songwriting goes, this is one of those songs where the title came first, and then the music and the rest of the lyrics was built around it.”

Female Fronted Symphonic/Prog Metal Visionaries The Wave and the Particle Presents ‘The Other’ Lyric Video

The Wave and the Particle proudly present the lyric video for The Other”, a powerful track from their album Electric Sheep, out now via Wormholedeath.

“The Other” began as a nod to The Birthday Massacre but evolved into something uniquely its own. The lyrics explore humanity’s tendency to seek reflections of itself in others, whether in people, cultures, or even alien worlds. Inspired by Stanislaw Lem’s observation that “We do not need other worlds. We need mirrors,” the song questions our ability to truly embrace difference. Musically, it balances introspection and intensity, mirroring the push and pull between connection and projection.

Stream the “Electric Sheep” album here: orcd.co/electricsheep

The Wave and the Particle, based in Fremont, CA, fuses post-industrial rock, symphonic metal, and progressive rock into a powerful, unique sound. Formed in 2015 by Vasiliy and Katie, the band started as an experiment to blend dark industrial beats with soaring symphonic vocals. In 2016, guitarist Chandra joined, adding intricate solos that enriched their sound, culminating in their debut album, “Event Horizon,” released in 2019.

Despite challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, the lineup solidified in 2021 with the addition of drummer Abhiram and bassist Alessandro. Over the next two years, they refined their sound and experimented with new song structures.

As 2023 approached, the band began work on their second album, “Electric Sheep,” inspired by cyberpunk themes that explore technologies, transhumanism, globalization, and digital identity. Committed to pushing musical boundaries, The Wave and the Particle crafts music that resonates on multiple levels.

Finnish metal band Gothony release their first demo, originally released in 1995, on streaming services – Video footage of the early days is available

Finnish metal band Gothony released Demo 1995 on streaming services via Inverse Records.

30 years ago Gothony’s first demo saw the light of day. The demo was recorded and mixed by Hiili Hiilesmaa at MD Studios in Munkkiniemi, Helsinki in early 1995. An edition of 200 cassettes was made. Sales started in the summer of 1995. Now the time has come to re-release this three track demo on streaming services.

Rare video footage also available on the full EP release on Youtube.

BIOGRAPHY:
Gothony was founded in 1993 with the line-up :
M.Toivonen: drums & vocals
Mika Uusitalo: guitar & vocals
Miika Peräkangas: guitar
Väiski Syväoja: bass

This line-up released two demos in the 90s in 1995 (Gothony) and 1997 (Hidden thoughts). Gigs mostly in the capital region, e.g. Oranssi klubi, Semifinal and at the legendary Thunder Road House. In 1998, M.Toivonen , who handled the vocals, gave the vocal responsibilities to Sami Viitamäki.

Sami Viitamäki’s time was Gothony’s golden age, and many compare this to the Beatles ’65 & ’66, when Rubber Soul and Revolver innovated not only the band’s sound but the entire pop music genre as well. The golden age was short, but rewarding and Gothony played a few gigs with Sami before the break up that happened in 1999. There was no drama in the breakup, but everyone went on different paths in life.

In 2019, it was decided to reassemble Gothony to revive the past and play old songs. Wuohi, who in the 90s did vocals in Bleed me tears and Katharsis joined Gothony.

In 2020, Gothony went to Tuska-Torstai and Emergenza to get a feel for live show’s. After the gigs, a decision was made to start working on new songs and continue Gothony’s story.

The first official Gothony single Patient 2442 was completed in April 2023 and released with a music video by Kimmo Jaatinen (direction, cinematography, screenplay, editing). The second single In the Shadow of the Moon was released in July 2023.

Gothony’s first official full-length album released on January 12, 2024.

Now in 2025, Gothony is working on new songs and the new material is scheduled for late 2025 release. Before releasing new material, it’s time to bring Gothony’s first demo to streaming services. This will take place in March 2025.

Polish Progressive Metal Discovery Wind Down Sign With Wormholedeath

Polish progressive metal quintet Wind Down has inked a licensing deal with Wormholedeath Records for their highly anticipated album, The Burning Past, slated for release on April 18, 2025.

Formed in 2021 by Damian “Blady” Jurek and Wojciech “Świerszcz” Wojtyczek, founding members of Thetragon, Wind Down quickly grew into a formidable unit with the additions of Kuba Czubik, Władysław Zawojski, and Marcin Borula. The band’s journey began with the release of their debut EP, Uśpieni Ludzie (Euthanised People), which garnered widespread praise, thanks to its title track and accompanying music video.

Building on the momentum, Wind Down toured extensively, sharing stages with international metal heavyweights like Necronomicon (Germany), Stonecast (France), and 3000AD (New Zealand), alongside prominent Polish acts such as Iscariota, Styxx, and Subterfuge.

In 2023, the lineup evolved, bringing in Franciszek Trybus and Tomasz Wiśniewski (formerly of Thetragon and Kruk) to solidify their sound. By April 2024, the band began recording their debut full-length album at Hertz Studio, with the final touches—mixing and mastering—handled by Ergosphere Studios.

More than just an album, The Burning Past is a profound concept piece inspired by Native American Indian culture, shamanic rituals, and the cosmic connection between human souls and extraterrestrial energy. The record is a transformative journey that blends introspection with a broader, spiritual narrative, delivered through intricate melodies and evocative lyrics.

Wind Down’s approach is steeped in authenticity, drawing inspiration from luminaries like Nevermore, Alter Bridge, and Dream Theater while carving out a unique identity in the Progressive Groove Metal genre. The album’s fusion of technical precision, melodic harmonies, and thunderous riffs creates a sound that is as innovative as it is powerful.

Wind Down’s dynamic live performances continue to captivate audiences, including notable appearances alongside Slovak band Gloom and at events such as the Wrath of Gods Vol. 5 Mini Fest (2023) and the Rock Pod Kameňom festival in Slovakia (2024), where they shared the stage with acts like Trauma, Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, HammerFall, and Eleine.

With the release of The Burning Past, Wind Down is set to solidify its reputation as a fresh and groundbreaking force in the progressive metal scene.

South American Anima Inside received big-name Finnish endorsements for their single Free Man

Founded in 2006, Anima Inside is a South American progressive rock band that has won several awards and a gold record. Anima Inside combines traditional South American rhythms and instruments with their modern music.

The band will release their new full-length studio album Alien this year, published by Rock On Records.

The latest single from the upcoming album, Free Man, is a song created during the pandemic. The lyrics contain a powerful message about how inner freedom and personal expression can win even in the most difficult times.

The single also features Finnish color in the form of guests.
Sami Yli-Sirniö, known from Kreator, is on guitar, and Niclas Etelävuori (ex-Amorphis, Flat Earth) handles the bass section. The gentlemen can also be seen in the song’s music video, in which the scenery changes from the exotic jungles of South America to the Finnish winter.

“I met Anima Inside’s singer Riccardo De la Cuesta when I was at the NAMM fair just before the COVID-19 epidemic. During that time, he contacted me that he had a song like this and if I knew any guitarists. Sami and I recorded our parts and the video was shot with Tommi Mattila in the snow when all the places were closed,” Niclas Etelävuori recalls.

In 2025, Anima Inside will go on an international tour with their new Alien album. The tour will cover Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and the United States. The band will also be participating in the first ever Masters of Rock festival in Ecuador. The same stage will feature Scorpions, Foreigner and Europe.

ANGELIC FOE Unveils Mystical Lyric Video for “Bless The Charm”

Symphonic darkwave alchemists Angelic Foe have conjured a mesmerizing lyric video for “Bless The Charm,” a spellbinding single from their critically lauded album Amulets and Charms (WormHoleDeath Records). Bathed in lunar mystique and arcane symbolism, the video channels the track’s primal energy—a sonic ritual of protection, transformation, and unseen forces.

“Bless The Charm”: A Nocturnal Rite of Power
The track weaves Annmari Thim’s haunting vocals with Fredrik Hermansson’s brooding orchestral tapestries, crafting a hymn to the sacred and the sublime. Lyrics evoke moonlit purification, whispered intent, and the forging of charms through fire—a metaphor for the band’s own alchemical fusion of darkness and light.
This song is a vessel. It’s about binding the intangible to the eternal, much like how music itself becomes a talisman for the soul.

A Sonic Treasure: “Amulets and Charms”
The album—a nine-track odyssey through myth and shadow—solidifies Angelic Foe’s reign at the crossroads of neoclassical grandeur and darkwave allure. Layers of viola (Björn Jönsson), percussive intensity (Mattias Borgh), and searing guitars (Jhonny Göransson) merge with Hermansson’s cinematic arrangements, while Léo Margarit’s mixing and Magnus Devo Andersson’s mastering elevate the work to a realm of crystalline darkness.

Step into Angelic Foe’s enchanting world and discover their profound and poetic artistry.
