Finnish rockers Leverage return with new studio album “Gravity” set for release on June 20th via Frontiers Music Srl

Finnish heavy rock juggernauts Leverage are utmost pleased to announce the release of their upcoming new album “Gravity”, out on June 20th, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.
After their latest single “All Seeing Eye”, they unveil the second single “Shooting Star”, along with an accompanying music video, available now.

“Shooting Star” is a soaring, cinematic anthem of escape, defiance, and transcendence. The unexpected initial twist paves the way for a barrage of galloping riffs, thunderous rhythms, and towering vocals that echo the golden age of metal. This bold single blends mythic storytelling and melodic power into a new Leverage sound that bridges past and future.

Pre-Order “Gravity” HERE

Lead singer Paolo Ribaldini commented on the new single: “Shooting Star stands out as one of the album’s strongest and most surprising tracks, with Tuomas leaving storytelling aside and instead capturing deep emotions through music and lyrics. It feels like something the classic Dio-era Rainbow could have created today. The song also highlights my bandmates’ incredible performances and is set to become a live staple. I’m especially grateful to Marko and Taksu for their passionate work on the music video, which enhances the song’s depth and offers fans an unforgettable experience.”

Guitarist Tuomas Heikkinen added: “Shooting Star got started right after I had a Bigsby vibrato installed on my black Les Paul. I really like that twanging old school tone you get with it, and just started fiddling around basic chords. I really like it, I knew Paolo would nail the vocals exactly like I heard them in my head, and this song very much paved the way for the whole album, I knew we could now achieve sonic textures that were out of reach before”.

Leverage’s future seemed uncertain after the untimely passing of singer’s Kimmo Blom in the summer of 2022. However, founding member and main songwriter Tuomas Heikkinen decided the final hour for the band was not in sight yet. Outstanding singer Paolo Ribaldini (Delain, ex-Skiltron) and violinist Lotta-Maria Heiskanen joined with the precise task to renew and refresh the sound of the band.

The resulting album “Gravity”, the band’s sixth full-length in slightly less than twenty years, aptly showcases contemporary heavy rock sound, combining multiple influence from the genre’s golden era with the band’s own unique flair and personality. Plenty of ear-catching melodies delivered skilfully with a pristine top-of-the-line production.

Leverage is neither a power metal band, nor an AOR band, nor a nostalgic tribute to the ’80s. Instead of falling into one category, they have bent and redefined genre frontiers, thus developing their own style of heavy rock. The sonic stamp says “Leverage”, and it speaks louder than words.

Leverage’s history is carved deep into the DNA of the new album “Gravity”: the grand melodic traditions of the debut “Tides” (2007) and the sophomore “Blind Fire” (2008), the symphonic flair of “Circus Colossus” (2009), and the darker, more mature tones of “Determinus” (2019) and “Above The Beyond” (2021) all find new life here. But “Gravity” doesn’t simply revisit the past—it elevates it.

The band’s Mark 3 line-up now includes Tuomas Heikkinen (guitars), Marko Niskala (keyboards), Elias Ojutkangas (drums), Sami Norrbacka (bass), Paolo Ribaldini (vocals) and Lotta-Maria Heiskanen (violin). Watch out for Leverage playing in a town near you!

Spanish Dark Post-Rock Visionaries Müntrails Summon the Shadows with “The Bell” (Official Video)

Step into the haunting world of Müntrails with their spellbinding track, “The Bell,” from The Cenobite Tapes. This dark rock anthem takes you on a mystical journey where light and shadow collide in a ritualistic dance of spirits, serpents, and sacrifice.

With a mesmerizing blend of eerie melodies and haunting lyrics, “The Bell” echoes through your soul, calling you into a trance of uncertainty and transformation. The sound of the bell draws closer, pulling you into a tale of forbidden rituals, ancient gods, and the mysterious union of purity and corruption.

Experience the powerful, chilling atmosphere of “The Bell”—a song that beckons you to surrender to its dark forces, to follow the call, and to question what lies beyond the veil of reality.

Though not a concept album, The Cenobite Tapes coalesces into a unified odyssey through emotional extremes. Each track carves its niche, swinging between ambient introspection and seismic crescendos, while a thread of unflinching self-expression binds the work into a transformative listening experience.

Müntrails’ sound defies easy categorization. They weave post-rock’s expansive textures with dark rock’s visceral edge. Their self-described “Darklight music from distant planet Earth” invites listeners to confront the chaos within and emerge transformed.

“Wonderfully cheesy, saccharine AOR vibes” – Joviac’s latest single ‘Canvas’ from their forthcoming album out now

Finnish progressive metal band Joviac released the fourth and last single ‘Canvas’ taken from the forthcoming third studio album ‘Autofiction Pt. 1 – Shards’ which is set to be released via Inverse Records on May 16th 2025.

LISTEN to Canvas on Streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/joviac-canvas

There are a plethora of influences in Joviac’s music ranging from the obvious progressive metal examples to arena acts like Toto! Of all the songs on Joviac’s upcoming album, Canvas is definitely the song where all of the wonderfully cheesy, saccharine AOR vibes that frontman/composer Viljami Jupiter Wenttola has absorbed from bands like Toto, Journey and Boston come into play the most. Without forgetting to throw Joviac’s own sound and spice into the mix of course!

“Canvas is definitely one of those songs where I instantly felt a story in my head take shape and it just pulled me in. There have been countless times where I’ve figuratively (and perhaps literally) bashed my head against a wall for lengthy periods of time when trying to figure out a concept for a song. Canvas was the complete opposite. I remember when I started feeling out the verse parts, this story of a young woman just came to my head. She felt like she was trapped in the small town where she was from. That she was like a bird trapped in a cage, but she had one form of escape. Every time she would paint and let her emotions flow free, her anxieties and that cage would let her go. In the end her canvas shows her a world beyond her cage, and she’s able to leave that town behind.”  Viljami Jupiter Wenttola

Finland is known as the land of metal, but so far has yet to offer the world a breakthrough progressive metal act. Joviac has been working tirelessly since 2017 to change that. With the singular vision of combining the compositional freedom of progressive music, the full range of human emotion, addictive hooks and crafty arrangements, the end result is a versatile and deep marriage of catchy riffs and melodies with a conceptual and thoughtful twist.
Joviac is a seasoned live band with countless shows under its belt and looking to branch out globally in a BIG way.
The band has released two albums to date with the latest full-length
Here And Now” reaching the #8 spot on the official Finnish charts for physical albums!

RED CAIN Drops New Single “FWAB” (Fire, Water, Air, Blood) Ahead of Hyperspace Metal Fest Performance

Set to perform at this year’s Hyperspace Metal Festival in Vancouver, BC on April 10th, power prog storytellers RED CAIN are unveiling their new single “FWAB” (Fire Water, Air, Blood). With its heavy balalaika breakdown, downtuned heavy riffs, and soaring harmonized choruses among atmospheric industrial synth backing, “FWAB” hits hard and never lets go – a primeval ritual chant in front of cold stone, on a frozen steppe, among howling winds.

The band explains the story of the track in further detail:

“In the frozen Eastern European steppes, there stood a fell ancient god. Every ill word fed him, and every ill deed made him more potent. For millennia, he grew strong through kingship over mortal ill will, suffering, and pride, until his nourishment took a new form, unable to feed or strengthen. Without nourishment, the god was powerless, and without power, he slept. After millennia, fed full by ill words and ill deeds, searching for an awakening, the god demands the symbols of his power: Fire, Water, Air, Blood. Join the ritual sacrament of Chernobog. With this new release, the Slavic pagan ritual to call forth the “Black God” takes flight, asking the listener what they would be willing to change their fate.”

Brutal Death OPHIOLATRY Signs To Wormholedeath Records

Brazilian brutal death metal veterans Ophiolatry have officially signed with Wormholedeath Records and announced the release of their highly anticipated new album “Serpent’s Verdict”, set to drop on June 6th, 2025. The band has also released a teaser for the album, giving fans their first glimpse into what promises to be a devastating release in extreme metal. They comment on the brutality:

“The album delves into themes of spiritual revenge, indigenous resistance, and the clash between ancient traditions and imposed beliefs. Inspired by real events in the Amazon, mythology, and existential suffering, the lyrics paint vivid scenes of war, punishment, and transcendence through pain. Each song tells a story, whether it be about warriors resurrected for revenge, the wrath of serpent gods, or the fall of oppressive ideologies. The words are raw, intense, and unrelenting, reflecting the chaotic brutality of the music itself.”

This signing marks a significant milestone for Ophiolatry, whose last full-length album “Transmutation” was released in 2008 through Forces of Satan Records/Regain Records. After a period of careful composition and development, the band returns with renewed purpose and vision, channeling the raw energy that established them as pioneers of South American extreme metal while evolving their distinctive sound. The album represents a departure from the relentless technicality of “Transmutation” while preserving the band’s signature brutality and expanding their sonic palette.

The album functions as a sonic ritual—a brutal, immersive descent into cycles of destruction, revenge, and rebirth. Each track serves as a chapter in this narrative, combining aggressive riffs, guttural vocals, and tribal rhythms inspired by ancient warrior traditions. It is recommended for fans of Morbid Angel, Death, and Deicide.

BLKIIBLK Announces Signing Of Alternative Metal Band ODC

BLKIIBLK is thrilled to announce the signing of the French alternative metal band ODC.

With the upcoming release of their debut album in 2025, ODC is stepping boldly into a new era. The band is ready to push boundaries and make their mark on the international scene. ODC is here to stay. Loud, fearless, and unapologetically hybrid.

Lead singer Celia Do commented on the signing: “We’re beyond excited to join the BLKIIBLK family. Teaming up with a passionate, professional crew who truly lives for music is exactly what we were looking for. A bold new era of ODC starts now – and it’s going to be massive!”

Aldo Lonobile, Head Of A&R Europe at Frontiers Label Group, stated: “ODC impressed me since the first listening, they are the perfect formula between modern alternative metal and a devoted work attitude, and we are ready to bring the band to the highest level!”

ODC is the soundtrack of a hybrid generation. A sonic uppercut, balancing raw power and elegance. It’s also the voice of a generation searching for meaning – standing at the crossroads of styles, cultures, and influences.

Born in Paris in 2017, ODC is the result of two worlds coming together: the world of Celia Do, a vocalist with a striking identity, and that of a composer driven by the same fire – the desire to create an alternative metal project that breaks free from conventions: bold, modern, and uncompromising. From this spark, a true sonic and visual odyssey emerged.

ODC – named after Celia’s stage name acronym – became a totally creative space, where heavy riffs, catchy melodies, and contemporary electronic textures collide in a unique blend of raw energy and polished aesthetic. ODC is a bold blend of metal, modern rock and immersive electronic atmospheres.

Inspired by artists such as Devin Townsend, Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park and BMTH, ODC doesn’t fit in any box. The band asserts its own voice — powerful, hybrid, sharp and emotional.
Their songs are modern mantras, telling stories of freedom, downfall, and resilience. Music that hits hard — and hits deep. A constant dialogue between introspection and explosion.

The band is built around four distinct artistic personalities: Celia Do (lead singer, founder and producer, the rock frontwoman of the band), Sonny, a.k.a. MX MNK (a bassist with roots in hardcore and black metal, and a trash rapper with visceral energy). Then, Raphaël (an 8-string guitarist blending classic rock, hard rock, and atmospheric textures), and Hector (a drummer forged in the death metal scene, delivering explosive rhythmic power).

After a well-received debut EP in 2019 (“Ending The Boredom”), ODC carved their path through a series of powerful singles between 2020 and 2023, asserting their hybrid identity and ability to break genre boundaries. In 2024, the project took a major leap forward: writing their first full-length album, produced in Nashville by Kellen McGregor (Memphis May Fire).

Their vision of a perfect blend of sonic combustion and elegant delicacy started to blossom and reach its potential when the current line-up was solidified in 2014 and the band released their first EP “Be The Slave Or Be The Change”.

The band gained great international attention from the very beginning, and soon the young Finns
were flying from Japan to South America, playing in Europe’s coolest clubs & summer festivals and had their warm first contact also with the US audience on the Monsters of Rock cruise.

Shiraz Lane resonates through their double-edged guitar sound (provided by Jani Laine and Miki
Kalske), percussive ground-pounding clockwork (Ana Willman, drums & Joel Alex, bass) and the
supersonic melodies chanted by lead singer Hannes Kett. They are one of the most intriguing and entertaining bands in the current Hard Rock scene, bringing in a fresh breeze in terms of both compositions and live performance.

In addition to their debut EP, other most notable releases include the albums “For Crying Out Loud”, “Carnival Days”, “Vibration I”, “Forgotten Shades Of Life” and “Acoustic Archives’’.

Although wearing inspiration and paying homage to their predecessors, the sound and style of Shiraz Lane is unique, bold and contemporary. This has manifested in collaborations such as extensive international touring (sharing stages with bands such as KISS, Deep Purple, H.E.A.T &
Crashdïet), national TV appearances, the gaming world and, most importantly, an exponentially growing & dedicated fanbase around the world.

Giant unveil new video “A Night To Remember” from upcoming album “Stand And Deliver” out May 16th

Melodic rockers Giant are pleased to unveil their new single and lyric video “A Night To Remember”, taken from their new upcoming album “Stand And Deliver”, out on May 16th, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl

Pre-order “Stand And Deliver”
HERE

Giant return with a powerful new chapter in their storied career, featuring a fresh lineup that propels the band’s signature sound to exhilarating new heights.

Drummer and founder David Huff expressed his excitement for the new album: “Making Giant records has always been our passion! Thanks to everyone at Frontiers we can make our dreams happen. I know it’s a bit of a different lineup but whoever is in the lineup the legacy of Giant lives on”.

The forthcoming album entitled “Stand And Deliver” showcases once again the talents of David Huff on drums, Mike Brignardello on bass, Kent Hilli (of Perfect Plan) as the commanding lead vocalist, with the addition of Jimmy Westerlund (One Desire) on guitars. Westerlund also takes on mixing duties alongside Alessandro Del Vecchio, who adds his touch on keyboards as a featured guest.

As if this dynamic combination of talent was not enough, the album also includes some gems penned by the original guitarist and singer Dann Huff including “Time To Call It Love” (a collaboration with the late Mark Spiro), “Holdin’ On For Dear Life” and “Paradise Found”, coming both from his sessions with Van Stephenson, which strongly link the new album especially with the sound of the classic album “Time To Burn”.

However, with this new album, Giant deliver the hard-hitting rock and melodic hooks that fans have come to expect, while pushing the boundaries of the genre with a state-of-the-art production.

Originally formed in the late ’80s by brothers Dann and David Huff, together with the experienced jazz and rock keyboardist Alan Pasqua and Nashville session bass player Mike Brignardello, Giant would soon become one of the most respected bands of the melodic hard rock scene, with the release of their debut album “Last Of The Runaways” (A&M Records, 1989).

Following countless live performances in support of their debut, the band released the follow-up “Time To Burn” (Epic, 1991), an album still regarded as a main source of influence for many melodic and hard rock bands who came after. With the sudden change of musical climate in the early ’90s, Giant disbanded with their members becoming involved in different projects, with both Dann and David Huff becoming well respected producers.

In 2001, Frontiers prompted Giant to release “III”, an album that would prove to be a landmark in the growth of the new era Melodic Rock scene, particularly in Europe. Unfortunately, Dann’s busy schedule along with the other members’ commitments made the reunion impossible to carry on as had originally been planned; however, the vision of bringing Giant back as a band with a recording and touring line-up was something that the band was still open to exploring, even if Dann had to step away.

Thus, original members, drummer David Huff and bassist Mike Brignardello, with the blessing of Dann started endless research for the right musicians that could be part of a renewed Giant line-up. In the end, the choice fell on vocalist Terry Brock (ex-Strangeways) and guitarist John Roth (Winger, Starship).

The resulting album, “Promise Land” soon became a fan favorite, showcasing top quality songwriting and performances. Giant, however, went into hibernation again, with the exception of a one-off show in 2017, where the original band members reunited on a Nashville club stage for a charity event.

That event piqued fan interest and Frontiers and David Huff started talking again to see if they could manage to find the right formula for a new album from Giant. When the Swedish band Perfect Plan released a cover version of the Giant’s original hit “Stay” in 2019, then all pieces of the puzzle started to fall into place.

Huff and Brignardello were keen on the idea of Kent handling lead vocals for the next Giant release. Dann Huff gave his seal of approval, appearing on lead guitar on the single “Never Die Young”, which anticipated the successful release in 2022 of the “Shifting Time” album.

“Stand And Deliver” Tracklist:

1.    It’s Not Right
2.    A Night To Remember
