Surut is a blackened hardcore band from Tampere, founded in 2017. The band’s music combines the explosiveness and psychoticism of hardcore, screamo and black metal with the soaring melodies of post-rock and blackgaze. The band have managed to create a distinctive and rich characteristic sound, breaking traditional genre boundaries with an intense and atmospheric soundscape.
Their first full-length “Unelma” was released last December via Suicide Records.
We had the chance to meet vocalist Ville Ylinen and guitarist Ville-Pekka Valtonen after their show at Meara Klubi in Pori and learn more about the band, their music, and much more.

Vanguardian is an extreme metal band from Jyväskylä Finland, formed by members of the thrash metal band Inkvisitor in 2019. When it comes to music, the band has no limits and is ready to experiment with different sounds and styles while constantly working to evolve. Their debut EP, “I: The Witchhammer” was released in the summer 2021 followed by the second EP “II: The Heretic” at the end of 2022. Now the band is working on their debut album which promises to keep high or even higher the level. We had the opportunity to meet the band after their energetic performance at Meara Klubi in Pori and talk about the band’s origins, their music and future plans.

Like a phoenix, Jesse Kämäräinen‘s music has risen from the ashes of Inkvisitor via a new band called Anzillu. Anzillu is an extreme metal band from Helsinki whose debut album “Ex Nihilo” was released last January. We got to meet Jesse and Teemu after their show at MonoMassive and chat about the album, what it is like to work with Nino Laurenne in the recording studio, the importance of stage presence and much more.
Finnish Medeia released the new single “Superseptic” at the end of August, with it the band promises to release a new album which will introduce new sounds and will be based on the Greek mythological character Medeia. What is your belief? This is the question that the Finns Where’s My Bible ask the world. The single “Fenrir”, released a few weeks ago, is a taste of the upcoming album which promises to be more brutal and dark with themes regarding shamanism, Finnish and Nordic mythology as well as the human mind. Before the highly anticipated South American tour, the band played at MonoMassive in Pori and we took the opportunity to discover something more about this very interesting band.
The young Finnish band Stoned Statues recently announced the release of their second album “Guardian” preceded by the single “Not that real”, the album promises to be more progry and heavy.
