Cleopatra Entertainment To Release The Long-Awaited Documentary Film “Di’Anno: Iron Maiden’s Lost Singer”

The life and career of pioneering heavy metal frontman Paul Di’Anno, the powerhouse voice heard on Iron Maiden’s early albums, will be celebrated in the forthcoming documentary, Di’Anno: Iron Maiden’s Lost Singer, to be released by Cleopatra Entertainment this summer.

In a strikingly raw and intimate film, director Wes Orshoski captures the late singer riding an emotional rollercoaster toward the end of his life. Featuring appearances by James Hetfield(Metallica), Gene Simmons (Kiss) Maiden’s Steve Harris and members of ExodusSlayerMegadethOverkill and Sepultura, the film chronicles how two Iron Maiden fans encounter Di’Anno at the lowest point of his life and then set out to restore his health and relaunch his career.

Wheelchair-bound since the mid-2010s, Di’Anno’s health nosedived during the Covid-19 pandemic, when those two fans launched a crowdfunding campaign which ultimately led to him relocating to Croatia, where – through the help of those fans and doctors – he made a dramatic turnaround while running out of money, reuniting with his former Maiden bandmates, and falling in love. Eventually he makes a heroic and drama-filled return to the stage. All of this is captured in Di’Anno: Iron Maiden’s Lost Singer, which Orshoski began shooting in 2017.

“For years there wasn’t much to capture,” says Orshoski, whose credits include Lemmy, a study of Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister and The Damned: Don’t You Wish That We Were Dead. “Paul was waiting for surgeries that doctors in the U.K. would not green-light. He was in an incredibly dark place. But once he got to Croatia, fans and doctors gave him the hope he was desperately searching for. It was beautiful to witness. I wanted to make a film that was unlike any rock doc you’ve ever seen. And in the end, I think we got there.”

One of icons of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s, London-born Di’Anno helped launch Iron Maiden around the world, appearing on two of the most foundational metal albums ever released: Iron Maiden’s 1980 self-titled debut and the celebrated follow-up, Killers, released in 1981. In one of the most epic sagas in metal history, Di’Anno left Maiden in 1981 and was replaced by Bruce Dickinson, leaving metal fans around the world to debate which line-up and which singer was/is better. It’s a debate that continues to this day, almost 50 years later.

Orshoski finished work on the film (which was shot in England, Croatia, Brazil and the United States) shortly before Di’Anno’s death at 66 in October 2023. Di’Anno: Iron Maiden’s Lost Singer has been screening at European film festivals and will be released worldwide on both streaming services and on Home Entertainment DVD and BLU RAY formats.

The Xcerts return and share anthemic new track and video “do it to myself” out now

Today, The XCERTS return with their first original music since 2023, unveiling the anthemic new single “do it to myself”, their debut release for their new record label FLG Records.

A frenetic, grunge-laden alt-rock statement, the track finds the Aberdeen-formed, Brighton-based trio reconnecting with the raw urgency that first defined them, while retaining the melodic heft and emotional clarity earned over more than two decades together. It marks a powerful re-introduction to a band operating with renewed intensity, purpose and trust in one another.

LISTEN TO “DO IT MYSELF” HERE

Formed in 2001, The XCERTS, vocalist and guitarist Murray Macleod, bassist Jordan Smith and drummer Tom Heron, have remained a constant, unbroken line-up ever since, a rare feat that speaks volumes about the group’s creative bond and friendship. Through hard work, heart and resilience, they’ve long been established as one of the UK’s most consistent and emotionally resonant alternative bands.

After a run of records that explored more polished, pop-leaning textures, “do it to myself” signals a decisive shift back toward the grit and catharsis that first endeared The XCERTS to fans. Anchored by bright, urgent guitar tones that recall 2014’s There Is Only You, Macleod’s vulnerable vocal performance captures a moment of internal conflict and self-reckoning, wrestling with its own tensions, refusing to let up.

“There’s a desperate urgency about this song,” says Macleod. “It’s an admission of my fragility and tendency to self-sabotage when things aren’t good as they are. It’s a hard indie rock song, but the lyrics and vocal delivery are really vulnerable. That conflicting feeling was intentional – we wanted it to feel uncomfortable, honest, and human.”

Written collaboratively in the same room, something the band had not done on their 2023 album Learning How to Live and Let Go, “do it to myself” crackles with a sense of immediacy and shared energy, capturing three musicians fully locked into one another after navigating personal and collective turbulence – a mission statement for the band as a whole. The release arrives amid continued activity for the band, with Macleod also recently appearing as a guest vocalist on As It Is’ single “Ruin My Life” and an energetic stint as the live guitarist for Idlewild, a reminder that The XCERTS’ decades-long connection to the alternative scene remains alive and vital.

“do it to myself” is a bold opening statement – raw, reflective and resolutely forward-looking – from a band whose connection has only deepened with time, opening the door to what comes next.

Further music from The XCERTS will follow in 2026.

The XCERTS are:
Murray Macleod – vocals and guitar
Jordan Smith – bass
Tom Heron – drums

Parashyne releases their second album preview single Children of Nyx

Parashyne will rock live on Friday at the End of Kaamos’ Reign event in Korjaamo, Helsinki, together with Shereign and Crisis Mode, and the upcoming gig will be prefaced with a brand new song, Children of Nyx, which features all the spices that are characteristic of Parashyne: heavy sounds, surprising twists and of course Tanja Härkönen’s strong voice, which this time takes the listener to the heart of darkness, spiced with Greek mythology.

At the same time, the single heralds Parashyne’s upcoming second studio album, the theme of which is the myths of ancient Greece combined with topics that people can identify with today. The band’s debut album Calibration was released in 2024.

“In the mythology, Nyx is the goddess of the night herself and her descendants are the embodiment of many different negative emotions and things. Especially during a long period of darkness, a depressive state can take over and the mind is filled with everything negative. The lyrics of the song specifically highlight certain emotional states and their gods/goddesses; strife (Eris), contempt (Momos), fear (Deimos) and suffering (Ponos),” says Härkönen.

At the same time, Tanja states that the new single is also based on a personal dark period in her own life.

“It felt like all I ever experienced was just silent lonely suffering and negative emotions. Later, however, the lyrics also developed to deal with how long periods without sunlight also lead to a depressive state, as if you had spent too long in the realm of Nyx and her children, the night, and they start to take over you,” Tanja adds.

Parashyne is:
Vocals: Tanja Härkönen
Guitars: Aitor Jimenéz
Bass: Sofia Kaipainen
Drum programming: Pauliina Anttila

Belle Morte Returns to Their Roots with Acoustic Reimagining of Debut Single “Mercy”

Symphonic gothic metal project Belle Morte announces the release of a new acoustic music video for their debut single Mercy..

Originally released on December 9, 2017, Mercy was the first song the band ever put out and holds a special place in their history. Since its debut, the track has remained a fan favorite, and listeners have frequently expressed interest in hearing it reimagined in a stripped-back format.

The new arrangement presents Mercy with piano and acoustic guitar, offering a more intimate and reflective take on the song while retaining the emotional core that made the original memorable. For the band, revisiting Mercy carries a sense of nostalgia and connection to the start of their creative journey.

Formed in Minsk, BELLE MORTE combines dark symphonic metal with gothic, progressive, and melancholic elements. After their 2018 EP Game On, the band signed with Wormholedeath in 2021 to release Crime of Passion, a conceptual album inspired by John Fowles’s The Collector. Their second album continues this global approach, delivering unique symphonic metal experiences for fans seeking something different.

Ignescent team up with Clint Lowery of Sevendust for new video “Chariot Of Fire” – From upcoming album “Eternal” out March 20th

Female fronted Chicago rockers, Ignescent, are excited to team up with Clint Lowery, guitarist and backing vocalist of acclaimed rock band Sevendust, for their new single “Chariot Of Fire”, taken from the upcoming new album, “Eternal”, out on March 20, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl.

Lowery commented: “At the time I was asked to collaborate with Ignescent, I was truly building my relationship with Christ, in the beginning stages, the timing was perfect. Jennifer sent a melody she had and I built on that, a true offering to God in most humbling way.”

Jennifer Benson added: “The song is about God rushing in to rescue us when we’re surrounded and out of strength – a reminder that He never abandons us. He comes for us.”

Pre-Order “Eternal” HERE

Ignescent, a powerful and dynamic modern metal band from Chicago, fronted by the multi-talented vocalist Jennifer Benson, returns with their brand-new album, “Eternal”.

The band expressed their enthusiasm for the new record, by saying: “We’re beyond excited to announce our brand-new album “Eternal”, dropping March 2026! This one’s a battle cry – for faith, for hope, for forever. What’s eternal cannot be shaken”.

Their latest release showcases a fierce contemporary metal sound reminiscent of Flyleaf, Evanescence, Jinjer, and Skillet – blending raw emotion with driving riffs and soaring melodies.

Over the course of their career, Ignescent has made a notable impact on the rock scene. Their single “Remnant” climbed to #46 on the Billboard Rock Charts, while their debut EP “Electrified” was produced by four-time Dove Award-winning and Grammy-nominated producer Travis Wyrick (10 Years, P.O.D.). The opening track, “Calling Out To You”, co-written with former Skillet guitarist Ben Kasica, also made its way into the Billboard Rock Top 30.

Since 2018, the band has been actively touring across the Midwest, Nashville, and later Europe, following the release of their album “Fight In Me” through Frontiers Records Srl.

But Ignescent is more than just a rock band – they are storytellers with authenticity at their core. Drawing from real-life struggles with anxiety and depression, their lyrics offer a message of hope, resilience, and connection. Their music is grounded in emotion, featuring compelling guitar work, powerful rhythms, and deeply relatable themes.

“Eternal” is produced by Jeremy Valentine (New Years Day) and Brandon Wolfe, and features a collection of modern metal anthems, including “Joker”, “Fearless” – co-written with Sameer Bhattacharya of Flyleaf, and “Chariot Of Fire”, featuring Clint Lowery of Sevendust.

Norwegian Gothic Doom Force EVIG NATT Unveils Haunting Lyric Video “Death”

Emerging from the mist-shrouded shores of Norway’s metal heartland, EVIG NATT continues their descent into the sublime with the release of their soul-stirring new lyric video, “Death.” The track is taken from their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Vaketimen, set to be unleashed on February 20, 2025, via Wormholedeath.

The single draws inspiration from the iconic character Death from Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman, portraying her not as a threat but as a calm and inevitable presence. She is neither good nor evil. She arrives when the time has come, whether we are ready or not, and guides the transition with quiet dignity. The song reflects on humanity’s fear of death, shaped largely by the unknown rather than by reality itself. The result is a restrained, emotional piece that leans into atmosphere and weight rather than shock.

With Vaketimen, EVIG NATT continue to refine their signature sound: slow-burning, orchestral gothic doom marked by tension, melody, and darkness that feels earned. Aggressive yet subtle, heavy yet elegant, the band balance crushing riffs with cinematic arrangements and expressive vocals.

Pre-save “Vaketimen”: orcd.co/vaketimen

Formed in 2003 in Karmøy, western Norway, EVIG NATT began as a studio project by vocalist Kirsten Jørgensen and bassist Stein Sund, later joined by drummer Harald Magne Revheim. The band released their acclaimed debut I Am Silence in 2007 via Omvina Records, followed by Darkland in 2010 on Black Bards, earning international praise and features in magazines such as Metal Hammer and Scream. Their self-titled third album arrived in 2016 and led to tours across Europe and Japan.

Musically, EVIG NATT sit at the crossroads of gothic doom, progressive metal, and black metal, with influences ranging from Anathema and My Dying Bride to Swallow The Sun and The Provenance. Members have also been connected to Norwegian metal pillars Einherjer and Enslaved, further grounding the band in the country’s heavy legacy.

With Vaketimen, EVIG NATT sound focused, mature, and unafraid to let the music breathe. This is not about excess. It’s about atmosphere, emotion, and the long shadow that lingers after the final note.

Kirsten Jørgensen: Vocals
Stein Sund: Vocals and bass
Arne Marton Tangjerd: Guitar

The blistering solo single from Constantine Kanakis – “Ground Zero”

In the constant stream of new music, some gems deserve a second spotlight. “Ground Zero,” the debut solo single from the acclaimed UK guitarist (best known for his work with Sorceress of Sin), is one of those tracks. We invite you to take a moment to listen to what is already being hailed as a masterclass in modern instrumental metal.

This track marks a definitive evolution in Constantine’s career, blending technical precision with the melodic soul of instrumental giants like Marty Friedman and Joe Satriani. It is a high-energy, emotive piece that demands a spot on your playlists and features.

Constantine Kanakis is a guitarist active in the UK metal scene, particularly in the power metal genre. He is a member of the band Sorceress of Sin, which was formed in 2020. The band broke onto the scene with their debut album, Mirrored Revenge, in November 2020. They quickly followed this with their second album, Constantine, released in August 2021. Their third studio album, Ennea, was released in 2024.
As a member of Sorceress of Sin, Kanakis performed at the Bloodstock Festival in 2021, appearing on the New Blood Stage. Reviewers have praised his “absolutely fluid and beautiful shredding” and ability to “pull in some spectacular Neo-Classical flourishes” in his guitar work with the band.

France’s HighWay Unleash High‑Voltage Video “¡BANG BANG!” from Upcoming Album “Last Call for Rock’N’Roll” Out April 2026

French hard rock torchbearers HighWay fire off another electrifying shot with the release of their brand‑new single “¡BANG BANG!”, accompanied by a music video. The track is the second preview of their highly anticipated sixth studio album, “Last Call for Rock’N’Roll,” due out in April 2026.

Written in a single burst of inspiration, “¡BANG BANG!” channels the sleazy swagger and irresistible groove that made their 2022 hit “Like a Rockstar” a fan favorite. Built around a gritty, infectious riff and explosive vocal hooks, the song captures HighWay at their most confident, playful, and unapologetically rock’n’roll.

“I wanted an electric successor to Like a Rockstar. The riff came first, then the words BANG BANG popped into my mind. I wrote the whole thing in a day. It was so easy and so good—one of my favorites on the album!” says Ben Chambert – Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals.

Produced and mixed by Brett Caldas‑Lima (Ayreon, Devin Townsend, Megadeth), the track delivers the band’s signature blend of power, melody, and attitude, elevated by rich vocal arrangements and a groove built to shake arenas.

The accompanying music video, shot with the band’s trademark humor and high‑energy spirit, captures the fun, wild chemistry that has defined HighWay for more than two decades.

Lyrically, “¡BANG BANG!” dives into the tug‑of‑war between fantasy and reality, desire and consequence, dreams and doubt. With tongue‑in‑cheek cynicism, the song mirrors the pressures and frustrations of modern life, wrapped in a sound that demands you crank the volume and move.

Fans of Aerosmith, Def Leppard, and 80s arena rock will feel right at home as “¡BANG BANG!” continues to showcase the band’s revitalized lineup, now featuring, Cerise Pouillard (bass), formerly of the acclaimed AC/DC tribute Ladies Ballbreaker, Florian Arnaud (guitar), a standout talent who brings twin‑guitar firepower back to HighWay’s live sound. Both musicians contribute backing vocals on the album, helping craft the massive, multi‑layered harmonies that have become a defining element of the band’s new sonic identity.

Crafted over four months at Tower Studio, the album is described by the band as their most personal, mature, and powerful work to date, a true “rallying cry for a drifting world.”

With over 500 shows across Europe, six albums, and a reputation as part of the new wave of European classic hard rock, HighWay have shared stages with Michael Schenker Group, Gotthard, Jeff Scott Soto, Kissin’ Dynamite, Nashville Pussy, and more.

Influenced by AC/DC, Queen, Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses, and The Beatles, the band delivers a vibrant, heartfelt brand of hard rock that unites generations of fans. HighWay is ready to turn the volume up. Don’t miss the Last Call.
