Finnish melodic death metal band Nemecic unleashes new single “Mysterion” – Second taste of upcoming EP

Finland-based melodic death metal outfit Nemecic continues to step up its activity with the release of “Mysterion”, the band’s new single and the second taste of their upcoming EP, due out later this year.

Following the release of “The Chalice of Rot” earlier this summer, “Mysterion” takes Nemecic into darker and heavier territory. The band comments:

“The upcoming EP showcases some quite different sides of the band, and with this one we’re heading towards the other extreme. ‘Mysterion’ is probably the heaviest song in our history, with no clean vocals whatsoever and a distinctly dark atmosphere throughout. Among the details worth highlighting are a fairly intricate drum arrangement by our standards, as well as the guitar harmony in the middle section, where the interplay between guitarists Rajakallio and Salonen worked particularly well. The lyrics deal with accepting death – that moment when the sea of the dead rises, washes over your toes, and its mystery finally begins to reveal itself.”

Biography:

Founded in Heinola in 2005 and now based in Jyväskylä, Finland, Nemecic represents the heavier side of melodic death metal. The band’s music combines relentless double bass drumming, downtuned guitars, guitar solos, and a mix of harsh growls and clean vocals. While difficult to compare directly to any single band, Nemecic’s sound draws influence from acts such as Fear Factory, Lamb of God, Katatonia, and Bolt Thrower.

The lyrics of the band’s newer material offer a critical perspective on contemporary society. Running through the songs is a search for meaning in a world perceived as alienated and devoid of values. Marked by themes of grief, loss, and existential reflection, the material paints a bleak picture of the contradictions inherent in the human condition.

To date, Nemecic has released two full-length albums, The Deathcantation (2017) and The Last Magic in Practice (2021), both of which received positive reviews. Fans of the band’s previous work are unlikely to be disappointed by the upcoming EP, scheduled for release in late 2026.

Svartsalt released debut album

Faroe Islands Blackened Death/Thrash Metal band Svartsalt released their new album  Upp Úr Dýpinum. The release was recorded in Nirvargh Home Studio and Killhelm Home Studio.
Formed in Tórshavn in 2016 for the Faroese Wacken Metal Battle, Svartsalt is an antifascist blackened death/thrash metal trio stripping away digital gimmicks in favor of raw, organic confrontation. Fusing aggressive death metal, classic black metal, and post-metal structures with Gojira-inspired grooves, the trio channels real-world societal decay into harsh sonic resistance. Following their 2017 live EP release, the band underwent a pivotal evolution during their 2024 reunion show, establishing a dynamic two-vocal attack fronted by Nirvargh (lead vocals/guitars) alongside original frontman Groth (bass/vocals) and Killhellm (drums).

About the Band & History:

Svartsalt was formed in Tórshavn in 2016 in connection with the Faroese Wacken Metal Battle. The vision was clear from day one: to strip away modern digital gimmicks and go back to basics—a raw, dangerous underground metal trio creating sonic confrontation in a rehearsal room without click tracks, triggers, or backing tracks. The name Svartsalt (“Black Salt”) represents a harsh, impure element that poisons the system—a direct reaction to the toxic nature of modern political and societal structures.

Most Iconic Moment & Vocal Evolution:

The most iconic milestone in the band’s early era was their legendary vinyl release show at Perlan in Tórshavn in 2017, celebrating the release of their debut 7″ live vinyl EP.

After a period of dormancy, the band prepared for a long-awaited reunion show in December 2024 at OY Brewery. When original lead singer Pól (Groth) was unable to perform at the gig, guitarist John Ivar stepped up to take over lead vocals. Because of the close bond and deep trust within the band, the transition was seamless. The concert was a massive success, proving the new constellation was a ferocious force and reigniting the band’s drive to write new material. Moving forward live, Pól will continue to handle lead vocals on the classic EP tracks while providing heavy backing vocals on the new material, creating a dynamic two-vocal attack.

Musical Style & Songwriting:

All three members write the music collectively. Songwriting stems from shared conversations about societal frustrations, political decay, and systemic corruption. Musically, Svartsalt fuses intense death metal with raw, classic black metal (focusing on aggression rather than atmospheric soundscapes), heavy groove-driven riffing (inspired by Gojira and Pantera), and dynamic, post-metal compositional structures.

The Debut Album (Upp Úr Dýpinum):

Their debut full-length album, Upp Úr Dýpinum (released August 14, 2026, via Tutl Records on 12″ vinyl and digital formats), was birthed out of pure passion, social frustration, and resistance.

Production & Artwork:

Operating as a 100% DIY entity, the album was recorded and produced entirely in-house. John Ivar tracked and produced the guitars, lead vocals, and overall sound at his home studio, while Martin Rói recorded drums and backing vocals at his setup. Bassist Pól (Groth), a trained audio engineer, provided invaluable technical input alongside the trio’s tight creative collaboration.

The album’s visual soul was created by Faroese artist Bjartur F. Clementsen, who painted custom physical watercolor artwork—using actual salt to react with the paint and create raw, organic visual textures that mirror the band’s identity.

Lyrical Themes:

Upp Úr Dýpinum (“Out of the Deep”) is a sonic middle finger to rising fascism, systemic greed, anti-intellectualism, and societal apathy. Svartsalt delivers an uncompromising message: rise up from the deep, reject conformity, and support true physical underground culture!

Italian modern metal band Secret Rule opens a new chapter with “Edge of Control”, the first single taken from their upcoming eleventh studio album. The single was released on September 1st, 2026, via Rockshots Records, the single is now available across all major digital platforms.

Built around heavy guitars, hard-hitting rhythmic shifts and crushing breakdowns, “Edge of Control” combines electronic textures and cinematic layers with the melodic and emotionally charged identity that has shaped Secret Rule’s sound. Finnish modern metal band EVENT RELENTLESS are putting the spotlight on “The Last Chance”, one of the key tracks from their upcoming new album. Filmed in Tampere

The music video for “The Last Chance” was filmed in Hiedanranta, Tampere, Finland an urban industrial area whose atmosphere matched the band’s aesthetic.

Bassist Henri Soisalo explains:
“We considered what would be a great location to film a video for this song, and from a few options, the Hiedanranta area in Tampere was chosen. The setting felt suitably urban, offering just the right amount of grit that matches our vibe.
The building where we filmed was actually under renovation at the time, so while we were blasting metal at full volume through the speakers, construction workers were carrying out their jobs right behind the camera.”

The result is a raw and energetic performance video that reflects the character of the song and the band’s Tampere roots.

Instead of achieving the ideal he seeks, that pursuit gradually corrupts him, transforming him into a figure incapable of satisfaction and trapped by his own expectations.

Electric Banshee released debut EP

British Heavy Metal band Electric Banshee has released their debut EP «Spiritual Overdrive». The release was recorded in Electryfier Studios and mixed/mastered by Piero Rigo.
Electric Banshee was formed in 2025 in London, England by José Rivera. Their music is inspired by themes like witchcraft, nightmares and cosmic horror and influenced by different styles within the metal genre. Their sound is characterised by highly energetic songs with riffs that sound both heavy and melodic, combined with mesmerizing atmospheres, catchy guitar solos and epic endings. Currently, they are working on new material to be soon released.

Belgian/Thai Black Metal Discovery YHWH Announce New EP “Baghavat”

The enigmatic transcontinental entity known as YHWH has emerged from the shadows to announce the third chapter of their sonic evolution. On October 30th, 2026, the band will release their highly anticipated new EP, “Baghavat”.
