New York Thrash QUEMASANTOS Channels Loss From Cancer Into Lyrical Fury with “Burning the Black”

New York thrash QUEMASANTOS is turning up the heat with their scorching new lyric video ‘Burning the Black’, a vision accumulated through time turned into a metal track that was born from grief, rage, and love. It emerged from the pain of witnessing cancer’s devastating impact.

Watch and listen to the lyric video for ‘Burning The Black’ at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEYV-nt0x28

“In the past, vocalist Nelson Diaz has always come up with the concepts for the music they’ve been writing. This time, I asked him to work under my concept, which was based on what I was experiencing at the time (which was during the time before my wife’s passing). He kindly agreed to do it, and I’m just happy with the way he performed and used all the material I gave him. He’s a true friend and a master of metal interpretation. I love him,” adds Ignacio Orellana (Bass/Guitars/Drums).

‘Burning the Black’ is an analogy to the process of receiving chemotherapy, which burns the cancer cells in the body. The concept for the track came to Ignacio Orellana while watching his wife fight cancer for six years, which tragically ended with her dramatic death. The lyrics are narrated from the perspective of death, constantly reminding you that it will take you and that no matter what you do, it’s inevitable. The music encapsulates the life cycle of a person, beginning with the gradual and transformative changes life brings and concluding in a manner reminiscent of its inception.

“On a personal note, this has been a brutal and devastating time, as well as strange to lose my life partner of 31 years. It still feels unreal. This song is essentially what I can translate from the experience of being there next to her and witnessing her decline from good to bad. I genuinely hope that people can understand it the way I’m trying to convey it. I loved my wife, and she will always be with me,” says Orellana.

Quemasantos is Nelson Diaz (singer and concepts) & Ignacio Orellana (bass/guitar/drums).

The guest musician for this track was Felipe Roa, the lead guitarist for metal bands Acaro and Shadows Fall (touring member). With extensive studio recording and touring experience, Roa has also owned and operated Boston Guitar Tech, providing professional services such as guitar setups, fretwork, electronics, and online and in-person lessons.

Vocal tracks recorded at Studios Ultrasonico, Santiago, Chile.
Felipe Roa’s tracks were recorded at his studio.
Mixed and mastered at Oily Sound Studios in New York City by Ignacio Orellana.

Polish Guitarist/Songwriter ANDRZEJ CITOWICZ Announces “Living Room Rockstar Pt. 2” for Autumn 2025 Release

Polish guitarist and songwriter ANDRZEJ CITOWICZ, a proud son of Wałbrzych/Poland now based in Cairo, is thrilled to announce the release of his highly anticipated album, “Living Room Rockstar Pt. 2”, set for autumn 2025. Following the success of Living Room Rockstar Pt. 1, named Album of the Year 2025 by Metal Impact Radio [https://x.com/AndrzejCitowicz/status/1941440593395319076], this 15-track record continues Citowicz’s journey of weaving heartfelt melodies and electrifying riffs inspired by his hometown and global experiences. The album has already secured its first media patronage from Metal Shock Finland and renowned Tarja Virkamiri, marking a significant milestone in its promotion.

Citowicz’s musical odyssey began over 15 years ago when he signed with Downboys Records, owned by members of the multi-platinum band Warrant.

Living Room Rockstar Pt. 2, featuring the lead single ‘The World I’ll Hold For You’ is a deeply personal project. Recorded with the exceptional bass work of Patryk Szymański, whose intuitive understanding of Citowicz’s vision brought unparalleled depth to the album’s sound, the record captures the spirit of Wałbrzych’s Podzamcze district, where Citowicz lived for 32 years, and the vibrant energy of Cairo, his home for the past 17 years with his half-Egyptian, half-Italian wife. Szymański’s bass lines, described by Citowicz as “the heartbeat of the album,” elevate tracks with a dynamic groove that complements the guitarist’s emotive solos and storytelling.

“Songwriting is my way of breathing life into memories and dreams,” says Citowicz. “It’s like building a bridge between Wałbrzych’s quiet streets and the world’s stages, connecting my past to the present with every chord. I’m endlessly grateful to my listeners and collaborators like Patryk, who make these songs feel alive.” On his inspiration, he adds, “The Red Sea’s vastness, midnight sessions under Cairo’s stars, and the raw energy of ‘80s and ‘90s hard rock—Bon Jovi, Desmond Child, Richie Sambora—fuel this album. It’s a love letter to Wałbrzych and the universal longing for home.”

Fans can explore teasers, lyric videos, and unreleased tracks on Citowicz’s YouTube channel [https://www.youtube.com/user/Citowicz], including a YouTube Short showcasing Living Room Rockstar Pt. 2: https://youtube.com/shorts/G23StUg4tW0?si=Ef99DsC9kJTSJ_1_

Official singles and releases are available on Spotify [https://open.spotify.com/artist/7aIeg5DyI7xwkYLsBgJNWf?si=_Amb-D57TmOrv6oHt0advg] and major streaming platforms like Apple Music and Tidal.

“I hope Living Room Rockstar Pt. 2 resonates with dreamers and fans of late ‘80s hard rock, blending that classic energy with modern production to carry Wałbrzych’s spirit to the world,” Citowicz shares. “The support from Metal Shock Finland and Tarja is a humbling honor, and I’m excited to bring this music to listeners everywhere.” Citowicz is planning a concert in Wałbrzych and charitable initiatives to give back to his community.

Progressive metallers Jack The Joker are pleased to unveil their new single and official lyric video “Devir”, taken from the upcoming debut album “The Devil To Pay In The Backlands”, out on August 22, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.

The band said: “Devir” is the lament of a man who’s lived the backlands to the bone – where the sun scorches, the earth devours, and there’s no devil but our own choices. A tale of suffering without a villain, where pain is law and faith is just a question carried by the wind”.

Jack The Joker is a modern progressive metal band with a twist, hailing from the Northeast of Brazil. The band consists of Raphael Joer (vocals) Felipe Faco and Lucas Colares (guitars), Gustavo Pinheiro (bass), and Vicente Ferreira (drums).

The band has already made a name for themselves in the modern prog scene with their 2024 singles, generating buzz with their blend of cultural authenticity and musical innovation.

Produced by Adair Daufembach (Angra), “The Devil To Pay In The Backlands” is an ambitious, genre-blending journey that will delight fans of technical metal, groove, and melody alike. Jack The Joker bring a fearless and refreshing perspective to the progressive metal genre.

The Serpent God’s new single, ‘Sermon’, has a threatening and eerie vibe, built on 90s Swedish metal influences

Finnish melodic death/doom metal band Serpent God is set to release their debut album ‘Denial’ on October 10th 2025 via Inverse Records. The third single ‘sermon’ is available on most streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/serpent-god-sermon

The band comments:
”Sermon on blood, sermon on death”

“The song is up-beat and has a bit of threatening and eerie feeling to it. Lots of classic 90’s Swedish metal elements as building blocks. Starts with heavy double kicks and heavy riffing, no questions asked. Backing choirs create ritualistic or religious wibes to the song. Life is a one long and painful ritual after all. “Like an iron mask forged in brimstone, finished in the flames of hellfire.”

BIOGRAPHY:
Serpent God is a band formed 2023 in Iisalmi, Finland. The birth is heavily related to Se, josta ei puhuta -band’s writing process; lots of material were created that didn’t fit in the spectrum of Se, josta ei puhuta. In general, the material was more slow-paced and more eerie. However, the mentioned material was also way too good to be deleted, so therefore another output was needed, so Serpent God was born. Different branches grow from a tree with strong roots. Serpent God has its foundation in extreme metal, but there are also heavy influences from post-rock, doom and smaller splashes of more avantgarde sounds.

Finnish blackened death metal band Progeny of Sun released the third and last single ‘Forsaken Brigade’ from their forthcoming second album

Finnish blackened death metal band Progeny of Sun is set to release the second studio album ‘Prophets of the Void’ on September 5th 2025 via Inverse Records. The third and last single ‘Forsaken Brigade’ was unleashed on July 23th.

Guitarist Jaakko Hautamäki comments:

“Joni pondered the matter long and hard: Would anyone notice if he added some melody and triplets for Pepe? Pepe noticed the wrongdoing, but the new armchair was far too comfortable to get up from. Joni performed his secret rituals, pulled out the best lead section from his sleeve, and in his usual sadistic fashion, placed it only once at the end of the track. “It can’t only come once!” Everyone agreed – we were left yearning for a climax worthy of the end of the album. After hundreds of consultants were discussed with, nevertheless the solution was spontaneously invented in the studio: “Just throw in some double bass or something to make it last longer.” Tuomo could not believe his ears when he got the finished work on his desk. It was too soft and honeyed; it lacked coldness and mechanicalness completely. This was immediately corrected by adding icy echoes and scooped frequency curves. Niko approved the changes.”

LISTEN to Forsaken Brigade on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/progeny-of-sun-forsaken

BIOGRAPHY:
In the beginning, Progeny of Sun was a two-man band formed by Jaakko Hautamäki and Niko Aromaa. Jaakko was responsible for the instrumentals, mixing, and mastering, while Niko handled the vocals, lyrics, visuals, etc.

The songs Jaakko introduced were very versatile. Some had speed, some were slow, some painted a picture with their atmosphere, and some were more straightforward bangers. Despite the diversity in style, everything worked exceptionally well in tandem, and from this premise, the band started to develop and pave its own way forward.

To start with, Progeny of Sun created a 6-song self-titled EP and discovered that their music was met with great reception. The duo behind the band did all the mixing, mastering, videos, and artwork themselves. The project as a whole was very fun and rewarding to work on.

After the EP release, Jaakko and Niko began to think that something more was still needed. They still had a burning desire to spread their music around the world, but with just two people, it would have been impossible.

Subsequently, Jaakko found two local musicians from the Seinäjoki area: Joni Kiviniemi (guitar) and Juha Peura (drums). Joni and Juha were initially brought on board just to offer their vision and play their assigned instruments for new material. Soon, however, it began to feel like they were part of the family, and so it was decided that they would become full-fledged members of the squad and a part of the band’s story. Not long after, Tuomo Tolkki (bass) was also welcomed to join, and in a matter of a few months, the full lineup was formed.

The first release with the full lineup, a 3-track EP ‘Dark Wanderer’, was released in 2021. Next in line were the single releases ‘Worthless’ and ‘Anguish’, which were released in 2022. Thanks to the aforementioned experimental phase, Progeny of Sun has gained self-confidence and started to understand its own identity. The band worked hard on the debut album ‘Throne of Desolation’, which was released at the end of 2023. Progeny of Sun’s second album ‘Prophets of the Void’ will be released in September 2025. Following their debut album, the band has identified their strengths, which are utilized and showcased even more prominently on the second album.

Risen Atlantis – the new project by Frank Beck – announce album “Power To The Past” out September 26th via Frontiers Music S.r.l.

Powerhouse metal vocalist Frank Beck is thrilled to announce the debut album of his new project Risen Atlantis, titled “Power To The Past”, and set for release on September 26, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.
The first single and visualizer video, “Glory For The Brave”, is out, giving a taste of what to expect from this new project.

Pre-Order “Power To The Past” HERE

Talking about the project, Beck commented: “Alessandro Del Vecchio invited me to record an album for Frontiers after being blown away by my voice. We connected in early 2024 and I told him I wanted to sound different from my work with Gamma Ray – where I’ve been Kai Hansen’s touring sidekick for ten years. I wanted a grittier, more powerful style in the vein of Ronnie Atkins, Jorn, Jeff Scott Soto, and Dio – and he ran with it. The result is “Power To The Past”, a modern metal album with an ’80s spirit”.

“The first single, “Glory For The Brave”, is packed with great melodies and hooks. Our project is called Risen Atlantis – like a phoenix from the ashes, only this one rises from the sea! I’m proud of every track and thrilled to be part of the Frontiers family”, he added.

Frank Beck is a powerhouse vocalist from Germany, best known for his live performances with German power metal legends Gamma Ray, where he has supported Kai Hansen on stage since 2014.

With a voice that channels the soul and fire of Ronnie James Dio and David Coverdale, Frank Beck brings his commanding vocal presence to the new project Risen Atlantis – and the result is an explosive collection of melodic power metal.

“Power To The Past”, the debut album from Risen Atlantis feat. Frank Beck is a well-crafted tribute to the traditions of classic European power metal. Co-written and produced by Alessandro Del Vecchio and Brett Jones, the album features soaring vocals, epic melodies, powerful riffing, and a sense of grandeur that will please fans of genre legends like Helloween, Gamma Ray, Stratovarius, and Edguy.

From high-octane anthems like “Glory For The Brave” and “Legacy Divine” to the cinematic atmosphere of “Sea Of Tranquillity” and the thunderous title track “Power To The Past”, the album flows with energy and emotion. Frank Beck’s voice soars across every track, breathing life into each lyric and giving the songs a timeless resonance.

“Power To The Past” is more than a debut – it’s a declaration. A revitalized sound rooted in tradition, but delivered with precision, passion, and power.

Hardcore Thrash Metal Warriors NADA Unleash “Black Bodies Bleeds” Music Video

Brazilian hardcore/thrash agitators NADA have released the official music video for “Black Bodies Bleeds”, taken from their searing new album Entropia, out now via Wormholedeath.

Shot in the stark intimacy of the band’s rehearsal space, the video is unfiltered and defiant—a sonic warcry against a reality shaped by institutionalized violence, rising fascism, and denialism tearing at the fabric of Brazilian society.

“Black Bodies Bleeds” is NADA at full force: a visceral blend of razor-sharp riffs, relentless rhythm, and bilingual lyrics that cut deep into themes of racism, state brutality, and social neglect. It’s not just music—it’s resistance. Brazilian melodic rockers Landfall are pleased to share their new official video “SOS”, taken from their latest studio album, “Wide Open Sky”, out now via Frontiers Music Srl.

Buy/Stream “Wide Open Sky”
HERE

Vocalist Gui Oliver commented: “‘SOS’ is a cry for help. I believe the words ‘pain’, ‘desperation’ and ‘hope’ can define this song. The tension and groove are inspired by the late Extreme songs”.

“A song that explores a different side of the band. It’s one of our heaviest songs with a progressive touch. Very intricate parts on this one! Also, we just played it live, and it has an energy that works perfectly on a live environment! We are making justice to it releasing this beautiful video, I’m glad we did it!”, added guitarist Marcelo Gelbcke.

Landfall, the Hard rockers from Curitiba, Brazil, features singer Gui Oliver (ex-Auras), guitarist Marcelo Gelbcke, bassist Luis Rocha, and drummer Felipe Souzza, are back with an almighty bang!

The band’s delightful Melodic Rock/AOR sound can best be described as falling somewhere between classic melodic rock, a là Journey, and slightly heavier influences, such as classic era Dokken, White Lion, and Extreme. With phenomenal musical and songwriting abilities and the golden voice of Oliver, Landfall is truly a welcome addition to the melodic rock genre.

The new album delivers a solid band and the new songs are stronger, able to capture the best of each band member, melodic rock has never sounded better!

Landfall was originally formed by drummer Felipe Souzza and guitarist Marcelo Gelbcke, childhood friends who have been playing together since they were about 15 years old. Some years later, bassist Thiago Forbeci joined up with them and added new musical input and influences, at which point the band decided to go in a new direction.

During this period, they released three independent albums under the name Wild Child, performing several concerts around Brazil, including opening for acts such as Glenn Hughes and Mike Vescera; until 2017 when the former Auras singer Gui Oliver, joined the band and Landfall began writing songs that would eventually become their first album released by Frontiers Records, “The Turning Point”.

As a songwriter, Oliver had previously written songs for several artists from the label, including Jimi Jamison, Bobby Kimball, Fergie Frederiksen, and Issa.
