How do disco and death connect? – Avatar released the final single from their album Don’t Go In The Forest

Avatar, the metal circus that is striving to reach the top of the metal world from Sweden, will release their highly anticipated new album Don’t Go in the Forest on October 31st – just in time for Halloween! The band is serving up the last taste of their upcoming album today in the form of the single Death And Glitz, which have released accompanied by a visualizer.

“Death and Glitz is a song about perversion and indifference. A homeless young runaway falls and dies on the dance floor. The flashes of a crime scene investigator’s camera turn into paparazzi flashes on the red carpet. We love him because he died. Now he’s perfect. Death is sold as entertainment, and that’s what makes it so sick,” says singer Johannes Eckerström.

The upcoming album has so far released the singles Captain Goat, In the Airwaves and the previous single Tonight We Must Be Warriors, which was released accompanied by a music video.

“We still feel like we’re just getting started, and that’s our secret ingredient. Don’t Go In The Forest is full of things we’ve never done before. It has songs and concepts we’ve never even approached before. We’ve lost ourselves in dark forests, memories and fantasies. Forbidden thoughts that we have to say out loud. This record could never have been made at any other time than now. And I think you’ll find that it’s exactly what you’ve always wanted,” says Eckerström.

Don’t Go In The Forest track listing:
1. Tonight We Must Be Warriors
2. In The Airwaves
3. Captain Goat
4. Don’t Go In The Forest
5. Death And Glitz
6. Abduction Song
7. Howling At The Waves
8. Dead And Gone And Back Again
9. Take This Heart And Burn
10. Magic Lantern

Avatar release raucous new single In The Airwaves with music video

Swedish metal circus Avatar released their new single In The Airwaves on July 18th. Known for their theatrical and distinctive production, the band also serves up a music video produced in their own stylish way alongside the new single.

The band, which has achieved widespread international success throughout its career, is known for its ambition and desire to push boundaries. The band explains the background to their latest release as follows:

“Avatar is defined by the challenges we set for ourselves. We are always looking for new perspectives and constantly striving to go further. In this endless journey towards the next great realization, we return to one of the most important elements of metal music, which is speed,” the band comments and continues:

“This is the fastest song we have made in living memory and it feels good to press the gas again. In a way, this feels like a return to something essential. Enjoy our rage!”

On the tour front, Avatar is as usual in full swing, and the band has just announced a new month-long headline tour in North America for this year. In the summer, the band will start a tour supporting Iron Maiden. In February, the band will embark on their own European tour. Next year, Avatar will also perform at four Metallica shows in Germany, Hungary, Ireland and the UK. See all the show dates here.

Avatar fans’ wait is over – New single Captain Goat released with music video

Avatar, who have built a large and loyal fan base with their distinctive and theatrical music, continue their steady journey towards the top of the global metal scene. The new single Captain Goat is now available on all streaming services.

“I think when people listen to Captain Goat, it becomes clear that the rules have changed again. We never do the same song twice, and we are always looking for new ways to reinvent ourselves. It’s the only way we know how – and the only way to give ourselves the opportunity to be better than ever before. The song uses Satan and the spirit’s journey through the underworld as a meditation tool. It’s about negotiating with the hard truths of existence – and finding acceptance as you walk through the darkness of a merciless life,” says singer Johannes Eckerström, and continues:

“In the music video for the song, we play with this theme shamelessly, borrowing imagery from various myths, folk tales and legends. And besides – every day I get to see the boys undress for a role is a good day for all of us.”

On the tour front, Avatar is, as usual, in full swing. In the summer, the band will embark on a tour with Iron Maiden. In February, the band will be on their own European tour. Next year, Avatar will also perform at four Metallica shows in Germany, Hungary, Ireland and the UK. See all the show dates here.

Avatar Announce European Tour

Avatar, who have been touring the world extensively with their latest album Dance Devil Dance, today reveal their plans for next year, which will start with a major tour across Europe. The Avatar across Europe tour starts on February 5th in Stockholm. Alien Weaponry will be on the tour.

The biggest shows of the band’s career so far are promised, so the orchestra is understandably excited about what’s to come.

“We are die-hard addicts! Despite all the praise we’ve received on stage, we can’t get over the feeling that we’re just getting started. That’s why this tour is meant to break all previous records and boundaries. I’m not just talking about the size. Everything has to be better than ever before. This is what we live for – and this is what we promise,” says the band’s frontman Johannes Eckenström.

The band, who have been working diligently in the studio on their tenth album recently, are also heading to support Iron Maiden this year before their adventures next year. The trip will also take the band to their own Halloween-celebrating Noche De Brujas gig in Mexico.
