Aussie Battle Metal Force EVOCATUS Unleash Crushing New Single “Serpent of Chaos”

From the frontline of Australia’s melodic death metal underground, EVOCATUS charge ahead with their blistering new single, “Serpent of Chaos”.

The third strike from their upcoming full-length Inevitable Death, “Serpent of Chaos” conjures an apocalyptic vision where tradition crumbles and darkness reigns.

The band commented on the track: “This was one of the first songs written for the album. Our previous album ‘Path to Tartarus’ had a lot of very technical songs, and I just wanted to write something more straightforward and catchy. The song evolved from there based on the feel of the intro riff, expanding and changing naturally as the song progressed. If you are familiar with other Evocatus songs, a dual guitar lead and big solo was a must. Once the music was completed, the lyrical theme was almost too obvious and basically wrote itself after a small amount of research.”

About the video:
“The video idea was also very natural. We organised Gregoroth to produce the video for us and had a planning session to brainstorm ideas. One thing led to another, and a really solid plan was in place. On the actual day of shooting, there were quite a few obstacles that had to be overcome, but we got it done, and the final product speaks for itself!”

Pre-save Inevitable Death: orcd.co/inevitabledeath

Emerging from the scorched battlefields of New South Wales, EVOCATUS are no strangers to sonic warfare. With a sound forged in the fires of thrash, melodic death, folk, and symphonic metal, the five-piece continue their crusade with Inevitable Death — a towering, blood-soaked successor to 2020’s Path to Tartarus.

Produced by Ryan Huthnance at Emissary Studios, this upcoming release is an unrelenting march through myth, fate, and fury — for fans of Kreator, Amon Amarth, and Machine Head, but delivered with the uniquely epic and sharpened blade that is unmistakably EVOCATUS.

Melodic Death Metal Titans Evocatus Drop ‘To Live by the Sword’ Single

From the frontlines of melodic death metal, EVOCATUS return with their blistering new single, “To Live by the Sword,” featuring Maude Théberge of Sanguine Glacialis — the latest offering from their forthcoming full-length album Inevitable Death, set for release on August 29, 2025 via Wormholedeath — a thunderous concept record drenched in fate, warfare, and mortality.

Unrelenting from the very first strike, “To Live by the Sword” dives into the psyche of a warrior king — torn between conquest and guilt, forsaking kin in the name of empire, and ultimately seeking absolution on the battlefield. With razor-edged riffing, dual guitar solos, and a narrative arc that blends glory and grief, this track is a towering monument to the eternal cycle of violence and redemption.

The single is an explosive highlight from Evocatus’s most ambitious release to date — Inevitable Death — a concept album where myth meets metal, channeling the spirit of ancient warfare through modern sonic brutality.

Melodic Death Metal War Machine EVOCATUS Joins Forces With Wormholedeath

Wormholedeath is proud to announce the signing of one of Australia’s most commanding underground forces: EVOCATUS. The Hunter Valley-based melodic death metal quintet have inked a deal with the label for the worldwide release of their long-awaited new album, Inevitable Death, on August 29, 2025.

Emerging from the scorched battlefields of New South Wales with a bloodstained banner of thrash, death, folk, and symphonic might, Evocatus wield melody and brutality in equal measure. Their latest sonic campaign, Inevitable Death, marks a monumental leap forward—expanding on the saga outlined in 2020’s Path to Tartarus with an epic, war-scarred offering of blistering riffs, sweeping orchestration, and lyrical odes to fate, myth, and warfare.

Produced once again by Ryan Huthnance at Emissary Studios, Inevitable Death captures the sharpened edge of the band’s evolving sound. Fans of Kreator, Amon Amarth, and Machine Head will find familiar fire here, but with an identity that is unmistakably Evocatus—tight, towering, and unapologetically intense.

“We are beyond thrilled—and admittedly relieved—to finally unleash this beast,” the band declares. “INEVITABLE DEATH is the culmination of five years of blood, sweat, and beers. With WORMHOLEDEATH now standing beside us, we’re honoured to present this album to the world. We raise our horns to you, our friends, family, and fans, for your unwavering support over the years and in making this album possible. Here’s to ‘Inevitable Death’, and the tales of battle, myth, triumph, and death within—be prepared for a journey through the ages!”

Wormholedeath’s Carlo Bellotti praises the album as a bold and singular statement:

“It is very difficult to find precise influences, because the conceptual level of the compositions ranges between various stylistic strands, keeping in a very precise way, centred and very focused on a certain Death Metal with a Melodic vein. The project has a lot of personality, thanks also to fluid writing and an absolutely convincing execution. The experience gained over the years is clearly evident. The album has no weak points thanks to unquestionable compositional skills. This is the decisive union that gives you a unique stylistic imprint that always maintains a high maturity and intensity. The songs as well as the project itself, have their own specific identity that is extremely personal. The vocal work is awesome, as well as all the instrumental parts. Guitars and the rhythm section are powerful, and they do a great job in the composition and arrangements. I haven’t listened to a record of this sound matrix for a long time.”

EVOCATUS are:
Nich Shields – Vocals
Vaughan Jones – Guitars
Callan Douchkov – Guitars
Brad Delforce – Bass
