The Finnish metal pump Crimson Sun, which grabs millions of streams, is preparing for the release of its third album. The songs “Sailing Home”, “Neon Lights” and “The Mark Stays On” have already been cut from next month’s “Sorrowbreaker” album. The last single is “Strive”, which is a go-to song, but nevertheless quite melodic.
“The song deviates a little from our usual style by being heavier in its pedaling, but still retains the characteristic features of our band, such as straightforwardness and melody. With this song, we wanted to bring out the energy and intensity that arises when we combine a heavier soundscape with our familiar melodic formula.”
Behind “Strive”‘s lyrics lies a philosophical idea about humanity and the common good.
“The song’s lyrics reflect the phenomenon of today’s world, where innovations are born at breakneck speed. In the lyrics, we play with the idea of a world where new inventions are made purely to promote the well-being of humanity and not only to pursue maximum financial profit. “Strive” challenges the listener to think about what would be possible if we strived towards common good and sustainable development instead of letting greed dictate our direction.”
Crimson Sun’s “Sorrowbreaker” will be out on September 20th.
The quintet will be performing in Helsinki and on a heavy metal cruise in October.
