South American Anima Inside received big-name Finnish endorsements for their single Free Man

Founded in 2006, Anima Inside is a South American progressive rock band that has won several awards and a gold record. Anima Inside combines traditional South American rhythms and instruments with their modern music.

The band will release their new full-length studio album Alien this year, published by Rock On Records.

The latest single from the upcoming album, Free Man, is a song created during the pandemic. The lyrics contain a powerful message about how inner freedom and personal expression can win even in the most difficult times.

The single also features Finnish color in the form of guests.
Sami Yli-Sirniö, known from Kreator, is on guitar, and Niclas Etelävuori (ex-Amorphis, Flat Earth) handles the bass section. The gentlemen can also be seen in the song’s music video, in which the scenery changes from the exotic jungles of South America to the Finnish winter.

“I met Anima Inside’s singer Riccardo De la Cuesta when I was at the NAMM fair just before the COVID-19 epidemic. During that time, he contacted me that he had a song like this and if I knew any guitarists. Sami and I recorded our parts and the video was shot with Tommi Mattila in the snow when all the places were closed,” Niclas Etelävuori recalls.

In 2025, Anima Inside will go on an international tour with their new Alien album. The tour will cover Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and the United States. The band will also be participating in the first ever Masters of Rock festival in Ecuador. The same stage will feature Scorpions, Foreigner and Europe.
