The self-titled album by Khroma, their fourth, sees the Helsinki-borne quintet at their most diverse: from straight-up death and groove metal passages to full-fledged grime, electro and trip hop, the band expands the boundaries of their electronic alternative metal. From the turbocharged opener “Abattoir (Chosen)” through the relentless rap skit “NPCs” to the complex, album-closing “Carnivorous”, “Khroma” is a limitlessly heavy album not chasing mundane genre thrills.
