Porispere marked its 15th anniversary in 2026 with the kind of confidence only a festival that knows exactly who it is can muster. Held from July 31 to August 1 at Kirjurinluoto, Pori’s beloved island venue, the celebration drew 24,500 visitors across the week, and for the first time ever, Friday was sold out. With headliners ranging from Dropkick Murphys to Haloo Helsinki!, Nylon Beat, and KUUMAA, Porispere once again proved why it has become one of Finland’s most characterful summer festivals. The next edition will return on August 6–7, 2027.
Porispere’s identity has always leaned proudly toward rock, metal and punk, and the 2026 lineup showcased that heritage with taste. The bill featured power metal Battle Beast, thrash veterans Stam1na, metal force Warmen, doom metal Kaunis Kuolematon, Finnish heavy pioneers Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus, punk legend Pelle Miljoona Band, rising local act The Reality Machine, Tampere’s uncompromising Nyrkkitappelu, modern gothic rock newcomer HOKKA, and Dutch psychobilly cult heroes Batmobile. It was a lineup that balanced nostalgia with discovery, tradition with surprise, and above all, the raw joy of loud guitars echoing across Kirjurinluoto.

The festival’s opening belonged to Pelle Miljoona Band, who stepped onto the stage at 5:15 PM with the kind of ease only a true icon carries. Pelle’s return was more than a performance; it was a full‑circle moment. He played Porispere’s inaugural edition back in 2011, during his farewell shows, and now, 15 years later, he returned with a Hamina‑built lineup to celebrate the festival he helped define. Under the bright sun, the crowd greeted him like an old friend, and the punk pulse of Porispere began beating once again.

Minutes later, The Reality Machine took the Lagunitas Stage at 5:30 PM, fresh from winning the Porilaine band competition. It was only their second live show ever, but you would not have known it. Their heavy metal energy connected instantly, marking them as one of the weekend’s most promising new names.

As the evening deepened, Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus filled Lokkilava with their unmistakable blend of weight and melancholy. Starting at 7:30 PM, they drew one of Friday’s largest crowds, who sang along to classics that have become part of Finland’s rock DNA.

Stam1na’s late night set was pure adrenaline. Riding the momentum of their Apnea album and the Käärmeennyrkki 2026 tour, they delivered a tight performance. Hits like Paha arkkitehti and Muistipalatsi whipped the sold‑out crowd of 9,000 into a dust‑clouded frenzy, an essential Porispere moment.

Saturday afternoon brought a dramatic shift in tone as Kaunis Kuolematon turned the sunny Lagunitas Stage into a cathedral of doom. Their mix of crushing heaviness and fragile melancholy, from Elämästä Ruosteinen to Hyvästi, created one of the festival’s most emotionally charged atmospheres.

On Rajulava, Battle Beast introduced fans to their new vocalist, Marina La Torraca. Her commanding presence won over the crowd instantly, and the band’s surprise partial cover of Dingo’s Levoton tuhkimo became one of the weekend’s most delightful moments.

At 4:30 PM, Warmen delivered a masterclass in melodic metal. Janne Wirman’s keyboard wizardry, familiar to any Children of Bodom fan, lit up Lokkilava, while the band’s Here For None material showcased their heavier, Bodom‑inspired edge.

By 7:15 PM, Nyrkkitappelu had turned Lokkilava into a sweaty, kinetic blur. Organizers described the show as “a live sports performance,” and it is hard to disagree, the band did not waste a single second of energy.

One of Saturday’s most anticipated acts, HOKKA, stepped onto Rajulava at 9:15 PM. With Joel Hokka at the helm, Pauli Rantasalmi on guitar, and Jimi Aslak on drums, the band delivered a theatrical, red‑lit performance. Tracks from Via Miseria IV, including In the Darkness and Blackbird, resonated with the crowd’s appetite for modern Finnish melancholy.

Late at night, Batmobile brought their slap‑bass‑driven psychobilly to Kirjurinluoto, igniting the crowd with a fast, melodic hybrid of punk and rockabilly. Their set was the perfect high‑octane warm‑up for the festival’s final act.

At midnight, Porispere 2026 reached its climax. Dropkick Murphys stormed Rajulava with bagpipes, banjo, electric guitars and working‑class punk spirit. Global hits like I’m Shipping Up to Boston and Rose Tattoo turned the field into a roaring sea of voices. Organizers later praised the show as one of the loudest and most energetic performances of the entire Finnish festival summer, a fitting end to Porispere’s 15th anniversary.
