Second appointment of the month with Meara Klubi, this time on the stage we saw After Avalon alternative metal from Pori, AvAciA a trio from Turku that plays Finnish-language metal rock with an unfailing and strong attitude, and Palehørse a cobination of progressive metal, desert rock, inventive hooks and harmonious melodies. Bob Malmström define themself the true originators and crowned kings of borgarcore. The Finnish-Swedish band has been spreading its good word around the world for more than ten years, touring in many European countries as well as China and Brazil. Their last EP “Segla Med Satan” was released last November, it combines catchy screams, Swedish pop songs and, of course, middle fingers in every direction. We had the opportunity to meet Carolus Aminoff before their gig in Pori and talk about the band, their music, gigs and much more.
Meara klubi offered a hardcore punk night with: SARS metal hardcore from Turku, Kiljumekanismi hardcore punk since 1995, and Bob Malmström the true originators and crowned kings of borgarcore. Here some photos of the event.
Tomb of Finland is a Finnish melodic death/doom metal band which includes members and ex-members of established names in the Finnish metal scene such as Charon, Kaunis Kuolematon, Cartilage, Vomiturition, Enochian Crescent and Elvenscroll. Their third studio album ‘Across The Barren Fields’ was released in 2022 and received many good reviews. We had the opportunity to meet the band before their first gig of the year in Pori at Meara Klubi and talk about music, concerts, work and much more.

Heathen Hearts is a Finnish hardcore band formed in 2021, their first 3 songs EP was released last spring, now the band is working on a new EP and is ready to play gigs around Finland. We met Lauri and Juhana before their gig at Meara Klubi in Pori, and talked about their music, gigs and much more.
Meara Klubi returns with a winter-spring calendar of two events a month. The first event was last Saturday and three bands played; Heathen Hearts a hardcore band from Kotka, Marto extreme metal from Pori, and Thin Line heavy hardcore from the capital region. Here some shots taken duringg the gig.
Gladenfold is a Finnish power-melodic death band influenced by bands such as Children of Bodom, Nightwish, Wintersun, Kamelot, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, and Freedom Call. Over the years Gladenfold has managed to refine its own unique yet constantly evolving sound. Their third album “Nemesis” was released last April, the songs are dealing with themes of self-reflection, about giving in the dark regions of one’s mind, and finding the existence of one’s wicked features. Ending Fortune is a young Finnish death metal band, who has been making music for four years now, the debut album “Engraved Insight” was released in 2020 and a new EP will be released this month. Irvikuvat describe their music as the love/hate child of Pantera and Mokoma. The Finnish band, after line-up changes, is working on the first full-length which promises to be different from what the band has proposed in the past with demos.
