The Finnish band Maria Makaaberi plays melodic, straightforward and honestly weird guitar rock – with an uncompromising attitude and in Finnish. Their self-published debut EP “Väärällä radalla” was released in 2020 and the songs are a witty and honest cross-section of the mindscape of a woman in her twenties. We had the opportunity to met the band after their show at Porispere and talk about their music and much more.
Finnish thrasher Mokoma released their 11th album “Ihmissokkelo” in 2020, which garnered a lot of acclaim. After acoutsic gigs and a tournee, they are ready to create new music . We met guitarist Tuomo Saikkonen before their performance at Porispere, and talked about their music, concerts, coffee and much more.

Huora is a Finnish punk metal band formed in 2015 in Tampere, they have since released 3 full-length albums. “Älä luovuta” was released last February and marks a more mature musical turning point compared to previous albums. We had the pleasure of interviewing the singer Anni Lötjönen before their performance at Porispere and talking about their latest album and much more.
Amorphis have 32 years of career and 14 studio albums on their shoulders, the latest “Halo” was released last February and received acclaim from fans and critics, so far it is one of the best releases of 2022. After the pandemic the band is ready to return to tread the stages of Europe and beyond. We had the pleasure of meeting Sande Kallio before their performance at Porispere and talking about their latest album, the official biography, the upcoming European tour and much more.
Rock in the City had 7 festival locations this year; Kuopio, Vantaa, Kouvola, Oulu, Rovaniemi, Kerava and Pori. Pori was the last location with 3 days of festival. Among the many performing in Pori were Uriah Heep, Battle Beast, Reckless Love, Turmion Kätilöt, Brother Firetribe, Ensiferum, Nestor, Stam1na, The 69 Eyes, Viikate, Blind Channel, Cyan Kicks and Kätfish. We were there and here are some photos takene by Cristina Gregori.
We had the opportunity to be present at the first edition of Knotfest Finland. The festival was held at the Artukainen event park in Turku and was organized by Fullsteam Agency. The large area allowed to host 30,000 spectators, resulting sold out on the second day. On the first day, on the two stages we saw Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus, Bloodred Hourglass, Stam1na, Sara, Arch Enemy, Lähiöbotox, Lamb of God, Huora and as final Nightwish. On the second day Blind Channel opened the dances followed by Shiraz Lane, TesserAct, Stoned Statues, Cradle of Filth, Medeia, Bring Me The Horizon, Moon Shot, the long-awaited Slipknot and at the end Huoratron. This year the Porispere has grown larger by expanding the festival area to accommodate more people, with a new larger stage and no restrictions on alcohol areas. Unfortunately the weather was not on the side of the festival, rain and wind made the program change at the last minute and two gigs were canceled. Despite all, the festival was a success and the dates for next year have already been announced.

Finnish band Manzana have released their sixth album “Neon Darkness”, which was conceived during the pandemic, and now that the situation has improved the band is back on stage. We had the opportunity to interview frontwoman Piritta Lumous before their gig in Pori, and talk about the album, the tours and much more.

On the occasion of their 30th anniversary, the Finnish rock band Play Girls Magazine released a 3-track album called “My time”, with this release the band demonstrates the desire to be on stage and play while having fun. We had the opportunity to interview the band just before the concert at the release party of “My Time” in Aaltomurtaja- Pori, we talked about their music and tried to understand what is the secret of this band’s longevity.
