The young Finnish band Stoned Statues recently announced the release of their second album “Guardian” preceded by the single “Not that real”, the album promises to be more progry and heavy. We got to chat with Allu and Jenna before their show at Porispere to find out more about their upcoming album, tours and more.

After the success of the debut album “Confession”, Moon Shot is ready to surprise the world with a heavier and more aggressive album that will see the light in the spring of 2024. Finnish industrial metal band Turmion Kätilöt released their tenth album “Omen X” last January, which was well received by both the public and the press, and subsequently embarked on their first headlining tour of Europe. Everything is about love as singer Saku “Shag-U” Solin told us during the interview we did before their show at Porispere, where we talked about their latest album, tour, merchandising and much more.
Also this year The Offering had the opportunity to be present at Porispere, the festival that has been held every first weekend of August for more than 10 years in Pori. The particularity of the festival is to offer a wide range of musical genres over the three days, ranging from metal to pop and everything in between. Notable names this year included Within Temptation, Airbourne, Stratovarius, The Rasmus, Beast in Black, Turmion Kätilöt, Diablo, and Stoned Statues to name a few. Sunday was the day dedicated to families called Minispere, for the occasion on the stage performed Käärijä, who represented Finland at the last edition of Eurovision, missing the victory by very few points with his “Cha cha cha”. The festival was sold out on Saturday and Sunday, the weather was also forgiving with summer temperatures and only an hour of rain on Saturday. Atlases is a Finnish band formed in 2017, after two albums and several lineup changes, the band presents itself to the world with a third album “Between The Day & I” in which it shows the duality of their music with heavy and melodic modern sounds . After a mini-tour in the Baltics, the band introduced itself to its home crowd in Pori, before the gig we had the chance to have a chat with Rasmus Forssel and Jesse Simola to get to know better the band and their music.
The last appointment with Meara Klubi before the summer was also a pre-release party for Atlases album “Between The Day & I”, as open acts Sirkuit Preiker and Golden Rot.
Atlases is a six-piece fiercely forward-thinking ensemble, whose brushes have touched the metal starting point plus plenty of experimental attitude, with their next album, the band made an unprejudiced leap towards even more original expression, the post metal elements are still present, but the band’s experimental attitude also brought with it songs that were more truncated than before.
Golden Rot is a fresh and modern alternative metal band from Tampere, whose members each gained experience in various genres of heavy music, the songs sound fresh as a mix of influences from metalcore, 90s alternative, progressive metal and catchy radio rock tune of the millennium.
Sirkuit Preiker is a Finnish-language electronic metal project, where Samuli Peltola, best known for Medeia, wanders the boundaries of film music and technical death metal.

Another appointment with Meara Klubi, this time setting on fire the stage were: Ecotage a hardcore metal band, whose songs focus on animal rights and environmental issues, Wretched Path a death metal band formed in 2020, whose crew has a solid experience: the collective curriculum of the band members includes names like Pestigore, Northern Discipline, Tukkanuotta, Daniel Lioneye and Godsplague, and Cross To Bear a band that has solidified their place in the domestic hardcore scene over the past decade and serve dark and heavy hardcore, which was also influenced by old school death metal.

Pressure Points is a Finnish progressive metal band founded in 2004, after many lineup changes the band finally found the right balance and on March 17th they released their third studio album “The Island”, which received great reviews. We got to meet with founding members Vili Auvinen and Kari Olli to talk about their latest work, concerts, and future plans.
This time the thrast metal Toxic Commander, the black metal/low kay rock Grave with a View, and the progressive metal Pressure Points took to the Meara Klubi stage giving excellent performances.

AvAcia is a band from Turku that plays metal in Finnish.
The trio performed at Ruisrock and the Saaristo Open, among others, and went on their first Eastern European tour in 2018. That same year, they also played the Scarlet Sails festival in front of 55,000 people. The band also achieved competition success after winning the Finnish and Nordic Band Emergenza competition in 2019. The band is well known for their energetic shows. Next May the band will release their second album which promises to be a turning point for the band thanks to more mature sounds and production by the legendary Janne Joutsnniemi (Ensiferum, Stam1na, kiuas). We got to have a chat with the band before their gig in Pori and talk about their upcoming album, music, concerts, and much more.
