Finnish melodic death metal band Obscure Fate released Valhalla single from the forthcoming debut album

Finnish melodic death metal act Obscure Fate is about to release their debut album ‘Shades of a Dying World’ on March 27th 2026 via Inverse Records. The third single ‘Valhalla’ is out now and it’s available here: https://push.fm/fl/obscure-fate-valhalla

” The song “Valhalla” has a straightforward theme: the Vikings’ military campaign and the promise of entry into Valhalla. Structurally, it is a conventional song whose catchiness comes from its rhythm and perhaps even its cheerful-sounding melody.“

Obscure Fate was originally formed in 2008 in Paltamo, Finland, as the solo project of guitarist and songwriter Kaleva Kovalainen. In 2009, drummer Jari Keränen and bassist Petri Möttönen joined, giving the songs their first real band form. Shortly after, guitarist Joni Moisanen and vocalist Tapio Möttönen became official members, and together the group arranged dozens of tracks for full band performances. From the very beginning, Tapio handled the lyrics, with Petri contributing to the song Spectral Exile.

The current lineup was completed in 2019 when bassist Antti Möttönen replaced Petri. Musically, Obscure Fate is rooted in traditional melodic death metal, though elements of thrash and classic heavy metal also find their way into the band’s sound. Kaleva’s prolific songwriting provided a strong foundation for the band, while the lyrics explore themes of social criticism, fictional storytelling, and inner struggles.

In 2021, Obscure Fate released their first EP. Recording sessions for their debut full-length album began soon after, but due to various setbacks the process turned into a long and seemingly endless project. Finally, in April 2025, the band reached the final stages of completing the album, marking an important milestone in their journey. The debut album ‘Shades of a Dying World’ is set to be released in March 2026 via Inverse Records.

SELIAS Unleashes Fifth Single & Video ABDUCTED

Toronto’s melodic death-metal force SELIAS has released the official video for “Abducted”, a track from their latest album Killkarma, out now via Wormholedeath Records.

This release carries a deeply personal message for frontman Guilliaume Pascal (G), a committed vegan whose lyrics aim to highlight the cruelty of industrial farming. “Abducted” flips the script with a brutal role reversal — humankind becomes the caged, the tortured, the slaughtered. Belgian Space-Rock Iconoclast Jesus Cringe Unveils “Disastrology” Single & Video

Leading the charge of the “hyperrock” movement, Belgian art-rock visionary Jesus Cringe has officially released his latest single and cinematic companion piece, “Disastrology.” Arriving via Epictronic Records, the track serves as a profound meditation on the collapse of the terrestrial and the inevitable migration of the spirit into the void.

The title “DISASTROLOGY” is freely inspired by The Science of Sleep (Michel Gondry) and the hypnotic rhythm of Koyaanisqatsi. The track eschews traditional rock tropes. In a bold architectural move, Jesus Cringe replaces the standard guitar/bass foundation with the haunting interplay of violin and baritone saxophone, creating a soundscape that is as abrasive as it is orchestral.

Italian Power Metal Veterans HIGHLORD Welcomes New Vocalist Andrea Racco (Soundstorm) w/ Video “Resurrection”

Rockshots Records proudly presents “Resurrection”, the new single from Italian power metal veterans Highlord, a track that signals a decisive new compositional chapter in the band’s long-standing career.

“Resurrection” introduces the renewed lineup featuring Andrea Racco (also known for his work with Sound Storm) as the new frontman and immediately establishes a sharper, heavier sonic direction while preserving the unmistakable epic DNA that has defined Highlord for decades.

Thematically, the song captures the fragile equilibrium of modern society, a world suspended between tension and transformation, and translates the urgent need for change into the metaphor of rebirth. “Resurrection” is conceived as a surge of energy breaking through instability: not escapism, but reaction; not nostalgia, but renewal.

Musically, the band embraces a more aggressive and compact approach. New death doom metal project Resumption release debut single “Don’t come”

New death doom metal project Resumption from the mind of Wilhelm Lindh (The Gardnerz, ex:Tristitia, ex: Pandemonium, ex: Allamedah) relesed devut single “Don’t Come”.
The debut single, “Don’t Come” serves as a defiant anthem against toxic influences from toxic people, exploring the necessity of isolation to preserve one’s sanity.

Resumption bridges the gap between the crushing groove of Bolt Thrower, Broken Hope, Pyrexia, Acheron (US) and the suffocating slow atmosphere of Funeral (Nor).
Lyrically Resumption tackles the harrowing realities of mental health and anti-religious sentiment. 

Wilhelm Lindh is a Swedish native that has been living in Portugal for many years. After years of playing in blues bands, Wilhelm felt it was time for another dive into the cesspool of dirty Death Doom Metal.

The outcome is a 9 track album called “The Respite” set to be released digitally on the 17th of April. The album is dedicated to Wilhelms Father (R.I.P) who hated Metal music but nevertheless always supported his son’s musical efforts.

Resumption: the action of beginning something again after a pause.

APE VERMIN Push Their Cosmic Sludge Saga Forward with New Video “Awakened” From Latest Album “Andromedas Colossus”

North Carolina’s progressive sludge metal juggernaut Ape Vermin has released a brand‑new lyric video for “Awakened,” the eighth and most explosive track from their latest album, “Andromedas Colossus.” The video was crafted by Kenji Tsunami of Tsunami Films, known for his visual work as well as his role as bassist for Narcotic Wasteland.

​“Awakened” stands as the album’s most ferocious statement, a collision of sludge, thrash, and apocalyptic storytelling delivered with the band’s signature weight and intensity. According to guitarist/vocalist Brett Lee, the track represents a pivotal moment in the album’s narrative:

The lineup, Brett Lee (guitar/vocals), Seth Lynn (drums), and Jared Edge (bass), has built a reputation across North America for a no‑frills, high‑volume live show rooted in heaviness and precision.

Tracks on “Andromedas Colossus” were in development for nearly five years, some written immediately after the band’s previous release, “Sonic Monolith.” The album takes listeners on what the band calls an “epic sonic journey,” moving from the crushing opener “Obliteration Imminent” to the atmospheric “Colony,” the prophetic “Solaruss,” the hypnotic instrumental “Pulse Driver,” and the environmentally charged “Mining the Colossus.” The record’s closing tracks, “Unearthing the Artifact” and “Return to Andromeda,” complete a narrative steeped in cosmic horror, mysticism, and the darker corners of the human psyche.

As the band’s personal favorite, “Awakened” represents the album’s thematic eruption. Its lyrics, invoking ten thousand years of slumber, portals of time, and the rebirth of hell, reflect the dark realm Lee has been building in his writing for over a decade. Tuska 2026: Program complete – Loudness, Warmen and Caskets added

It’s here: The Tuska 2026 program is complete. The list of performers for Tuska, which will be celebrated in Suvilahti, Helsinki, on the last weekend of June, will be supplemented by three international bands.

Loudness, a legend of Japanese heavy metal and one of the country’s most internationally successful metal bands, will be coming to Tuska. The band is celebrating its 45th year of career this year, and the tour honoring this milestone will also extend to summery Helsinki. Loudness is known especially for the virtuoso playing of guitar god Akira Takasaki, catchy riffs and unmistakable sound.

Among the newly released artists, domestic top metal expertise is represented by Warmen, who once started as a side project of COB skipper Janne Wirman. Warmen, who has had a long career and has recently made their mark, recently released the album “Band of Brothers”, which is progressing like a roller coaster.

The last missing piece of the Tuska 2026 program is Leeds-based Caskets, who deliver a combination of modern metal, post-hardcore and electronic intensity.

Italian Folk Metal AEXYLIUM Shares New Lyric Video “Eclissi” From Album “Myth of Mankind”

“Eclissi” marks a defining moment in Aexylium’s artistic journey. Musically rooted in the band’s unmistakable fusion of modern metal intensity and traditional folk instrumentation, the track stands out as the first song in the band’s career written entirely in Italian, a deliberate and meaningful choice that reinforces its emotional impact and narrative depth. Layered choirs, wide melodic lines, and a carefully balanced orchestral framework make “Eclissi” one of the most evocative compositions on “Myth of Mankind,” while also enhancing its strong potential in a live setting where audience interaction becomes an integral part of the song’s identity.

Commenting on the track, the band explains that “Eclissi fits perfectly with the musical lines of the album and represents a new expressive space for us. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Davide Tavecchia at Twilight Studio, ensuring a powerful yet detailed production that highlights both the band’s metallic core and its rich instrumental textures. The front cover was designed by Gustavo Sazes (Arch Enemy, Machine Head, Amaranthe).”Myth of Mankind” represents the most mature and personal chapter in Aexylium’s discography, addressing introspective and abstract themes while consciously stepping beyond genre stereotypes without losing sight of the band’s roots.

Their debut album, ‘Tales From This Land’ (2018), was released through Underground Symphony Records. It was recorded at Twilight Studio by Davide Tavecchia and mastered by Simone Mularoni (Elvenking, DGM, Secret Sphere, etc.).

In 2021, Aexylium signed a deal with Rockshots Records for their second album, ‘The Fifth Season’. The album was recorded at Twilight Studio with the artwork designed by Jan Yrlund of Darkgrove Design (Testament, Manowar, Korpiklaani). To date, the band has released six music videos as singles.

Compared to the last studio album, the band has welcomed Alberto Mezzanotte (drums), Luca Perrone (Guitar), and the frontman Sam Biganzoli into its lineup.

“The lyrics deal with the concept of deep time. The vastness of the universe challenges human perspective. Our collective cosmic history shapes the eternal harmony of our souls. It is a perfect opening track as it gives the album a good kickstart with the blasting double bass on the drums. Horizon of Aeons is a gothic dark metal band founded in 2024, bringing together
