ESCAPE TO THE ROOF Release New Single And Video ‘Back Again (Edit)’

ESCAPE TO THE ROOF return with a new single titled “Back Again (edit)”, now available on all digital platforms via Volcano Records & Promotion.

The mysterious Italian progressive rock project, still keeping the identities of its members secret, delivers a powerful and layered track that blends experimental sounds with introspective atmospheres in a deep, emotional sonic journey.

“Back Again” tells the story of someone who steps away from the world, from societal norms and conventional logic, only to return with disillusionment and awareness. The protagonist is a “returner”, an outsider whose gaze now pierces through the illusion. There is no triumph in his return — only the burning clarity of truth. With sharp lyrics and a bold sonic texture, the song invites listeners into a mental space where music becomes thought, urgency, and revelation. This special edit version of the original long-form suite retains its essence while condensing its intensity into just under eight minutes. The result is a vivid experience where aggressive rock energy meets atmospheric and psychedelic detours, proving once again that Escape to the Roof are willing to go beyond genre boundaries to tell complex emotional and conceptual stories.

Listen to “Back Again (edit)” now on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms.

HELLFOX Unveils Seconds Single/ Video “Atlas” Off New Album “The Spectrum of Human Gravity” Out June 2025

Following the haunting release of “Seaweed Braids”, Italian all-female melodic death metal band Hellfox returns with a powerful new chapter: “Atlas,” the second single from their upcoming album “The Spectrum Of Human Gravity”, due out via Rockshots Records.

Combining heavy melodic death metal foundations with modern textures and acidic synths, Atlas is a crushing and introspective anthem. Lyrically, the song draws on the myth of the Titan condemned to bear the weight of the sky — a metaphor for the emotional burdens we carry and the silent expectations imposed by society. “We have no control over what happens around us,” the band explains, “but letting go of that weight may be the most liberating act of all.

Hellfox’s music thrives on contrast: dual female vocals (melodic and growled), distorted layers, and atmospheric electronics merge into an emotional and immersive sound. With influences ranging from Amorphis and In Flames to Dark Tranquillity, the band has forged a distinctive identity that breaks away from traditional tropes, embracing vulnerability, rage, beauty, and discomfort in equal measure.

The Spectrum of Human Gravity is a conceptual journey into the depths of the human psyche. It explores difficult yet universal emotions—loneliness, self-doubt, alienation—through allegorical storytelling and striking visual metaphors. Each song gives voice to a different “face of the self,” capturing the chaos and coherence that define our inner worlds.

With “Atlas”, Hellfox once again demonstrates their ability to balance emotional weight with sonic power, delivering a track that is as crushing as it is cathartic.

ABOUT:

HELLFOX is an ALL FEMALE alternative metal (alt-metal) band with melodic death tendencies. Despite the four completely different musical backgrounds, we share a common inspiration to Amorphis, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity as far as composition is concerned, while for the choice of sounds we intended to move away from the Symphonic, recognizably feminine scenario to include acid and distorted synths so that we could create modern atmospheres that more closely met our tastes and better married the pop timbre of the melodic vocals. The dualism of HELLFOX is not meant to be understood on a conflicting level, it is instead the result of different voices within the human soul, different faces if you will, that mingle and generate the person itself, in its entirety, that although they seem to struggle, they coexist and create harmony and balance. We don’t use masks to conform to a mass, nor do we want to stand out at all costs, we just want to be ourselves in a society where normality is only a surface, the abyss instead is made up of so many facets of personality, both for the group and especially for the individual human being. Ours is a message within everyone’s reach, in which one can recognize oneself: that little voice in the head that either draws you in or drives you away… Because for us, nothing is normal, nothing is different.

DEGENERATE UNLEASHES SONIC APOCALYPSE WITH NEW ALBUM: “RITUALS OF RAGE”

Hide your candles, sacrifice your calendars, and prepare your earholes: Degenerate is about to wreck your spine and melt your brain with their new face-melting, riff-drenched opus, “Rituals of Rage”, crashing onto Earth on May 23th 2025 (we’re doubling down on the typo — it’s canon now).
This 10-track beast isn’t just an album — it’s a melodic thrash sermon delivered by the high priests of distortion. Think melody, fury, and groove having a bare-knuckle brawl in your speakers. Mixed and mastered by sonic sorcerer Mendel bij de Leij (Ex-Aborted), the album has been genetically engineered to destroy eardrums and expectations alike.
“It’s been an incredible journey to make this record and the videos. Writing, recording, filming — all of it was like summoning a riff-demon from the depths. Mendel didn’t just mix this album — he resurrected it in fire.”
Rens Hilgers, Emotional Wizard & Frontman
Following the band’s last sonic sledgehammer, Devastation Ahead, this new chapter dives deeper into melody, rage, and that delicious feeling of a breakdown punching your soul. Expect headbangers like Faceless Violence” to slap harder than your mom catching you skipping school to play guitar.
ALBUM FACTS (For the Nerds):
  • Genre: Thrash / Melodic / Groove / Death
  • Release Date: May 23rd, 2025
  • Where: Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and probably your cousin’s bootleg blog

For fans of riffs, rage, and ritualistic headbanging.
Degenerate. “Rituals of Rage.” May 23th. Be there. Or be slightly less metal.
About Degenerate:
DEGENERATE is a powerhouse collaboration between Dutch musicians Rens Hilgers, Daniel Ruiz, Bas Bloos and Yannick De Wit each with deep roots in the Netherlands’ thriving metal scene. Founded in early 2016 by frontman Rens Hilgers, DEGENERATE was born from a vision to create a modern hybrid of thrash and melodic death metal – raw, intense, and uncompromising.
In 2016, Rens partnered with drummer Melle Kramer to record the band’s debut demo EP. The release was met with enthusiastic praise from fans and earned international media attention for its ferocity and promise. Encouraged by this early success, Rens set out to assemble a full line-up of like-minded musicians capable of bringing DEGENERATE’s sound to the stage.
Since solidifying their line-up, DEGENERATE has performed extensively across the Netherlands, sharing stages with bands such as Distillator, Acid Drinkers, Disavowed and Deadspeak. Known for their electrifying live shows and powerful stage presence, they quickly carved out a place in the Dutch metal scene.
Musically, DEGENERATE is a force to be reckoned with – fusing intricate guitar riffs, technical drumming, and melancholic solos into a sound that bridges classic 80s thrash with a modern edge. Their style resonates with fans of Max Cavalera-era Sepultura, Children of Bodom, and Death, offering a sonic experience that’s both nostalgic and fresh.
In November 2019, DEGENERATE released their highly anticipated debut full-length album, “Devastation Ahead”, mixed and mastered by Mendel bij de Leij (ex-Aborted). The album received widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike.
Following the release, DEGENERATE embarked on a successful six-week tour across the Netherlands. Their dynamic performances left a lasting impression on audiences, solidifying their status as a rising force in European metal. Just as momentum was building, the global pandemic hit, forcing the band to halt all touring plans and confront a new reality.
Despite the challenges of lockdown and personal hardships, the members of DEGENERATE remained focused and resilient. Fueled by the overwhelmingly positive response to “Devastation Ahead”, they channeled their energy into writing and recording new material. This creative period has not only reaffirmed their commitment to their craft but also allowed them to evolve musically and personally.
DEGENERATE’s latest work, “Rituals Of Rage”, is a testament to their perseverance, passion, and unity. Every track reflects the band’s growth and the strength they’ve found through adversity. They are proud of what they’ve achieved and confident that the next chapter will be even more impactful.
Whether you’re a veteran metalhead or new to the genre, DEGENERATE delivers a sound that’s aggressive, emotional, and undeniably powerful. With new music on the horizon, this is a band that refuses to slow down – and they’re just getting started.

Helsinki garage rockers The Halophones release a new single

The Finnish rock’n’roll quartet’s “Less Ain’t More” is the 4th single from their upcoming debut album “Noises! Noises! Noises!”.

Being the signature closing song on virtually every gig the band has played for the past 2 years, Less Ain’t More’s raw power and manic garage rock drive has made it one of their most infamous live tunes.

“The song was improvised in a jam, and the lyrics swerve ’round and ’round between passion, greed and madness. If The Cramps, The Stooges and early Arctic Monkeys had a baby, this song would be it”, the vocalist Atte Nordberg states.

The Halophones are going to the UK in September in celebration of their debut album bound to be released in August.

Frostbite Terror serves up some energetic melodeath – Their newest single “Gehenna” calls up the devils

Finnish Turku-based melodic death metal band Frostbite Terror is set to release new EP later in 2025. The second single ‘Gehenna’ is out now.

“Massive sounds support furious blasting that won’t leave you cold. The greatest things in Finland, metal and sauna, are combined like never seen before. Listen to this tale of a sauna stove opening up a portal to hell and a face-off with the devil himself!

Gehenna is a kind of survival story from an afterparty where all food and drink is gone. This melodic piece with wall-of-sound guitars is then a good tune to warm up the sauna and enjoy the rest of the night, maybe even mosh listening to the riffs. While dreaming of a delivery of drinks the stove heats up to glowing hot and temperature rises above comfortable, representing hellfire. At that point what else can you do than take a thorough steam bath and relax.”

Olli Kuure / Composer

“Sometimes bathing in a sauna escalates to a hellish experience, so why not make a song out of that. Based on a true story (maybe with small embellishments). The song steamrolls forward like many Finnish heavy classics. That makes it a perfect backdrop for telling tall tales about how much heat we can take in the sauna.”

Otso Turunen / Lyricist

HAND ON HEART’s New music video for the song “Love Theme for Debora/When You Fall in Love”

Hard rock band HAND ON HEART is proud to present the music video for the single “Love theme for Debora/When you fall in love”, taken from their debut album “Space”, released by Metal Zone Italia.

This AOR/rock/blues ballad captures the emotional journey of starting a new relationship, seen as a new season of life where the colors of love erase old wounds.
Directed by Massimo Vernacchio for Fotomaxver, the video was shot at the beautiful Hotel Cavallo & Gio in Montecatini Terme, Italy.

The video reflects the theme of the song, with model Federica De Angelis, whose performance perfectly conveys the emotional depth of the song. With a sound that blends melodic rock, blues and AOR influences, “Love theme for Debora” represents the intersection between past and future, a reflection on the transformative power of love.

The song is now available, along with the music video, on YouTube and marks an important milestone for the band.

HAND ON HEART is a Tuscan band formed in Montecatini Terme (PT) in 2017, dedicated to hard rock. All the band members have musical experience. Alessandro Moschini and Sergio Leonetti played in the 1980s in another hard rock band, G.L.A.S., known for their EP titled “Audax Vincit”, which is now sought after by collectors of 1980s Italian hard rock. Alessandro Moschini was also a member of H.A.R.E.M., a street metal band from Lucca led by Freddy Delirio—keyboardist of Death SS here acting as the vocalist—and of Charisma, an Italian-language hard rock project he founded together with Matteo Panichi, drummer of Damn Freaks. Gianluca Niccoli and Alessandro Moschini are also the two members of the acoustic duo COFFEE & FLOWERS, with two albums released. Christian Evans, an English guitarist who has been living in Tuscany for over 20 years, has played in many local bands. The band’s influences trace back to the hard rock of the 70s and 80s, from bands such as Van Halen, Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Kiss, Whitesnake, and Bon Jovi.

On October 23, 2024, the band’s debut album titled “Space” was released by Metal Zone Italia. A music video has just been released featuring the tracks “Love Theme for Debora / When You Fall in Love” from this album.

Rising Finnish metal star Artkills releases cover of Robbie Williams’ Angel

Finnish metal rising star Artkills took Robbie Williams’ classic song Angels and turned it into heavy metal. The band’s version is a modern and fresh interpretation of the old classic, and it kicks off the band’s 2025 release streak. With the cover, the band aims to reach a new and international audience.

“Angels has been in my life since elementary school, and I only recently realized that the song would really work well as modern metal. We took influences from Bring Me The Horizon and added a little twist. Producer Panu Niemi took the song to new levels, and mixer Samu Laaksonen wrapped the song in a solid package” says the band’s drummer Jesse Ågren about the song.

Listen to the song here.

Helsinki-based Artkills, founded in 2020, is a modern metal band whose music combines heavy riffs, danceable grooves and memorable vocal melodies.

The band members are passionate musicians, all of whom share a touch of old-school attitude. Together with the lineup that has developed a recognizable sound, these factors create a perfect addition to the modern metal scene.

Artkills signed a gig sales contract with GramoPop in the spring of 2025. Artkills has already been able to perform with, for example, the band Kilpi, Merta, Awake Again and Ikinä.

In 2023–2024, Artkills did a major “Modern Metal Wave” tour, during which the band has toured extensively around Finland, creating a nice buzz.

The band’s music has also been played on radio. Radio City noted the band’s single “Don’t Follow”, which received rave reviews. “You & I”, released in February 2024, has also been played commendably on Radio Rock.

LORNA SHORE Announces New Album ‘I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me’ Out September 12th

After redefining deathcore with Pain Remains, LORNA SHORE return with their most ambitious and emotionally devastating record to date: I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me. Across 10 tracks, the band blend cinematic orchestration, relentless brutality, and deep introspection—culminating in a sound that transcends genre boundaries.

Featuring the explosive opener “Prison of Flesh,” the hauntingly personal “Glenwood,” and the towering anthem “Unbreakable,” the album explores mental collapse, family trauma, and existential dread—while delivering the most grandiose arrangements the band has ever written.

Pre-order & pre-save now at lornashorestore.com

The first single Oblivion was released on May 16th.

“When we were originally writing this song, we wanted to write a dark, almost… ethereal serene-like song. The goal was to give listeners that similar feeling to the one you get when watching the movie Interstellar. Specifically, we thought of the ‘Miller’s planet’ scene. The Endurance crew venture to a planet in search of resources/data only to arrive and find a desolate world. Despite it being serene, it is ultimately sterile- setting the crew back from their original goal. This ends up filling the crew with a sense of dread as they begin to realize that even one’s best efforts can still often end in vain.

I wanted to capture that feeling in this song lyrically in a way that we can all relate to. I was imagining a post-apocalyptic world in the (hopefully distant) future. A world where we have sown the seeds of our own destruction. The song starts with a description of what we have done (as humans) to the earth. The idea that we wished for better, hoped we were doing something that would help save us in this dying world, only to end up accelerating its inevitable destruction. We, as people, always wish to do right by our standards. This brings up the question; what is right? Do we even know what we’re doing? What have we done to try and actually change anything? Are we watering the earth or just feeding a constantly growing fire?

Writing this song felt like the culmination of all the things that we’ve done in the past, but brought to the next level; a more evolved version of what Lorna Shore truly is.” – Comments the vocalist Will Ramos.
