Bartlomiej Mezynski comments:
“Golden Land is the third single, featuring the amazing vocals of Noah Edward Simmons and Arnaud Menard. It’s a catchy, easy-to-listen-to song, with both singers delivering great performances, hitting some impressively high notes (as you’d expect with Noah and Arnaud on the track). I wanted to blend a retro, old-school vibe in the intro with simple, catchy guitar rhythms and choruses. I hope listeners enjoy the song’s simplicity and how memorable it is.”

Delain release “Dance with the Devil” EP

Delain, the master of melodic synametal, released a new song “The Reaping” on October 5th with a spectacular video. The single heralds “Dance with the Devil” EP, which was released on Friday, and the UK tour starting later this month. The title track of the EP, which was already released earlier, can be heard here.

“The Reaping” deals with anger and sadness under the influence of catchy melodies and modern heavy elements. There are themes experienced by many about the disappointment that people feel when they see societies drifting towards immediate and inevitable consequences. In terms of sounds, the song points to the future, where the band explores even more the possibilities brought by synthesizers.

The entirety of the EP, released through Napalm Records, has been supplemented with two completely new songs, nine live performances, two instrumental versions and two re-versions of familiar songs.

“We are excited about the new material, and it was fantastic to pack the best live moments from our European tour earlier this tour. We are very much looking forward to bringing these new songs to the performance stages as well,” says Martijn Westerholt.

Exision to release second album in 2025 – First single Persona Non Grata available now

Finnish groove/alternative metal band Exision released the first single Persona Non Grata from their upcoming second studio album ‘Uhreina Ajassa’. The album is set to be released on February 20th 2025 via Inverse Records. This single is featuring vocalist Jesse Salo from Garden of Stone.

LISTEN Persona Non Grata on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/exision-persona

The band comments:
“The black sheep of the group or a cornered mutt, the crown of persona non grata is not easy to bear… But someone must always be crowned. The crown bearer must decide for themselves whether they measure their status in gold or mud.”

BIOGRAPHY:
Exision is a groove/alternative metal band formed in 2017, known for their energetic live performances and colourful social media updates.

The band’s line-up includes vocal nightingale Joonas Kataja, who has written almost all of Exision’s songs. Bassist Jere Ala-Varvi is the ultimate songwriter, producing so much new material almost weekly that his desk drawer has had to be cleared for other projects.

Tapio Haverinen, the mainstay of the rhythms, keeps the drums pounding and the crowd moving. Nico Välkkilä, who enjoys an iron-fisted attitude and a flighty lifestyle, stands guard on the bass. The lead guitar is carried by Jarkko Oksman, who also does the songwriting and puts the finishing touches on the songs.

The songs are polished to their final form by the band members, and the original music draws its influences from politics, movies, games and other music, regardless of genre.

Heavy Southern Stoner Devil Metal HELLFIRE 76 Shares Music Video “The Omen” Off New Album “Rags to Rage” Out End of November 2024

Taboo lyrics served over blues-infected grooves! This is the unique blend of sounds that HELLFIRE 76 brings to the table. With influences ranging from ZZ Top, Killing Joke, and Kyuss to the Melvins, HELLFIRE 76 delivers a sound sure to satisfy doom, stoner, and psych rock fans alike!

Formed by founding members Von Bury (formerly of the Southern Gothic act LOVESUCKER and the Occult Rock act and Napalm Recording artist BLOODY HAMMERS) and Mike McGuiness (formerly of the Industrial Metal act FACE THE WORLD), HELLFIRE 76 set out to create a brand of Heavy Southern Stoner Devil Metal that has been missing for quite some time.

All killer-no filler, this two-piece brings 110% to their first full-length “Rags To Rage” due out at the end of November 2024. The overall theme of this album is dark, taboo, spooky, tongue-in-cheek, fuzzed-out southern metal. Von Bury explains further:

“The album RAGS TO RAGE is a continuation of our first release, in that the subject matter is all thought-provoking. As for a lot of music, we want the lyrics to be literal but also open to the listener’s interpretation. Sticking with the theme and ideas of Voodoo, Witchcraft, The Occult, and other oddities. We want to take the listeners on a dark and ominous journey into a place they don’t normally think about.”

To give the first glimpse into the album, HELLFIRE 76 is sharing their new music video for the first single “The Omen”.

“We wanted to have a song on the album (last track specifically) that we wouldn’t really play live as there are Organ sounds and whatnot that we can’t replicate live. I wanted a closer on the record in the vein of No Quarter, something that has a completely different vibe from the rest of the album,” adds Von Bury.

Watch and listen to the video for “The Omen” via its premiere on DoomedandStoned HERE.

For fans of Melvins, Clutch, Killing Joke, and Fu Manchu, “Rags To Rage” is due out on November 29, 2024.

Finnish hard rock band Rimbacher releases their debut album “High Hopes On The Rocks”

Finnish hard rock band Rimbacher releases their debut album “High Hopes On The Rocks” on November 1st via Inverse Records. The album presents classic AOR vibes, 80’s stadion rock sized attitude and also some hard straighforward rock and roll. The skillful band seasons their music with spices like powerful vocal harmonies, catchy melodies and classical art of guitar heroism.

Listen to the album on music services (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal etc.): https://push.fm/fl/rimbacher-hhotr

Bass player Reisca Morani tells about the album:

“High Hopes On The Rocks is a very traditional classic rock album including tight brawl and lovesongs. The atmosphere revolves around big riffs and guitar heroism combined with very melodic and harmonic vocals. The lyrical themes are either timeless stories about the struggles of a sensitive narrator as well as having fun. The soundscape itself has very high energy and spirit throughout the whole album and the songs are delightfully diverse compared to each other. However the the core essence stays solid and the band’s enthusiasm is well heard.”

Guitar player Osku ”Sticky” Kilpi continues:

”This album is what we think rock ’n’ roll is all about: plain, simple and straightforward hard rock with all the ups and downs of a typical rock album. No politics, no exceptions, no bulls**t.”

Kaaos Festival Takes Over Vaasa This July, Featuring The Haunted, Fleshgod Apocalypse & In Mourning

Vaasa’s heavy music offering will get more colorful next summer, when the new metal music-focused Kaaos Festival will take place on the 25th and 26th of July in the former Wasalandia area in Vaskiluoto. The event is also organized by WsArena Oy, responsible for the More Löylyä festival, in cooperation with Kaaoszine.

Arto Mäenpää, editor-in-chief of Kaaoszine, who acts as the festival’s promoter, says the following about the new festival:

“The idea for a new festival started when I approached WsArena regarding the 2025 cooperation with the More Löylyä festival. Festival promoter Ari Rintamäki suggested creating a new festival in collaboration, and since the idea of Kaaoszine’s own festival had been simmering in the back of his mind for a few years, it was quite easy to say yes to the proposal in the end. The program is becoming a whole that looks like Kaaoszine, so there is a very wide range of different tones of metal music available to the public.”

In the festival launch, half of the list of 16 bands have been announced: The Haunted, Fleshgod Apocalypse, In Mourning, Bloodred Hourglass, …And Oceans, Assemble The Chariots, Enemies Everywhere and Where’s My Bible.

“The bands on the smaller stage consist of well-established domestic metal music giants combined with newcomer bands, and on the main stage the main focus is on interesting and current foreign bands,” says Mäenpää.

Negotiations are currently underway with the festival’s international headliners, and there will also be a contest coming to the website later, through which you can win the opportunity to play on a smaller festival stage.

“Kaaos Festival is intended to be an annual event, so of course we hope that all long-time readers of the magazine and metal music lovers from all over Finland would pack their bags and come to the former Wasalandia area to check out the iron-hard bands. The Wasalandia area has been used in the More Löylyä festival and received nothing but praise from the public, so the framework for making the festival is very suitable for the area. See you all at the end of July in Vaskiluoto!”, says Mäenpää.

Kaaos Festival’s two-day super early bird tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster and NetTicket. The festival’s other ticket types will go on sale in the spring of 2025.

The age limit for the festival is 18 years.

VICTORIA K Pays Tribute To Origins w/ “Humanity XXIV”

Rockshots Records is proud to announce the release of “Humanity XXIV” by Victoria K, which is now streaming on all digital platforms!

Single – https://victoriak.lnk.to/HumanityXXIV

Youtube – https://youtu.be/dqGL_6lMMUE

This re-recorded fan-favorite track from their debut album “Essentia” captures a refreshed intensity, featuring new vocals from Victoria Knight herself – a powerful leap from the original recording.

This release is part of Victoria K’s journey of both reflection and evolution, looking forward to a third album in 2025. Known for pushing the boundaries of their sound, Victoria K’s last album, “Kore”, embraced a conceptual approach inspired by Greek mythology. But with “Humanity XXIV” (and the upcoming “Lacuna XXIV”), Victoria K pays tribute to their origins, infusing these tracks with matured skill and spirit.

These tracks are only the beginning, marking a new era in Victoria K’s Gothic Metal legacy, and follow the band’s recent chart-topping success with their “Frozen” cover, which reached the top 10 on Metal Contraband charts. As the anticipation builds for the 2025 album, “Humanity XXIV” serves as a powerful reminder of their journey from a rising name in the Melbourne metal scene to a band opening for legends like Eluveitie, Blind Guardian, and Katatonia.

Goth rock superband For My Pain… will release a new album next year after a 22-year hiatus – WitchBitch Elite single out now

Founded in 1999 and released their first album “Fallen” in 2003 through Spinefarm Records, Finnish For My Pain… will release a new album next year. The band, which started as a side project of members of the bands Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Nightwish, Embraze, Kalmah, Charon and Reflexion, among others, once received positive reception both in Finland and abroad, and dark romance lovers still remember, for example, the songs “Dancer in the Dark”, “Autumn Harmony” and “Rapture of Lust”.

Now this story continues, and the release of the single “WitchBitch Elite” continues the return to the books of the living – or at least almost living in a gothic style – that began at the end of last year. The new single will be released with a stylish lyric video, which you can watch now here.

“When we decided to rekindle For My Pain, I immediately noticed that a fair amount of new ideas and musical material had been accumulated over the years, and it always seemed to come about effortlessly. WitchBitch Elite belongs to this newer material,” says singer Juha Kylmänen and continues:

“The song immediately created for me the image of a rock piece that sounds with black humor, a bit like Dear Carniwhore from the first album, so the lyrics started to come about with an immediate program in that direction. As I practiced and refined the arrangement for In the final form, the song got a few more ‘soft spots’ and the addition of crests and synharmonies was a breeze of candy opened forever.”

As the comeback comes to fruition, For My Pain… has moved into the workspace “Whiteleaf Studios” built by Kylmänen, where the new studio album that will be released next year will also be completed, where we will return to 2003 in other beautiful atmospheres as well.

“When Mikko Karmila, who is also responsible for mixing the album Fallen, was able to organize the mixing of the new single and the upcoming album, the final result began to bubble like Hartaanselkä during water jetting”, says Juha and thanks Travis Smith, the band’s creditor who created the cover.

For My Pain… celebrated its single “WitchBitch Elite” on Saturday November 2nd by performing at the club Toppila in Oulu. The next concerts have already been announced, Puolanga LankaFest on the last weekend of June and Loisto Festarit on August 2nd in Pudasjärvi. All concerts are updated on the band’s social media.

For My Pain’s 2024 model year is:
Juha Kylmänen: vocals (Reflexion, Full Nothing)
Lauri Tuohimaa: guitar (Embraze, Tuohimaa, ex-Charon)
Olli-Pekka Törrö: guitar (ex-Eternal Tears of Sorrow)

The new alternative rock band Wrecking Lizzy presents the single Happy Happy / Sad Sad

Wrecking Lizzy is a new alternative rock band from Finland. The band, founded last year, bows especially in the direction of alt rock from the ’90s and ’00s, without missing a bit of gloom and emo. The band consists of Lizzy Wilde (vocals), musician John Curtain (guitar and vocals), also known from the band Verhot, and Viviane van der Rosa (bass and vocals). The foundation of the orchestra’s production is created by strong songs and singer Lizzy Wilde’s personal interpretation, and the distinctive voices of Lizzy and John Curtain also play well together. These elements, combined with Viviane van der Rosa’s tight rhythmic bass playing, create a recognizable characteristic sound for the band already from the first release, which is “Happy Happy / Sad Sad”.

“Happy Happy / Sad Sad sneaks up on the listener’s frequencies like an earworm and, in addition to a catchy melody, serves up juicy hooks and genuine emotional fire. Life is not always easy, especially when your head is being pushed in different directions. In the story of the song, there are adventures in the more fragile half of the inner world, where reality can be very shaky. The main character has an internal battle between two different personalities, and in the end there is only room for one and the other has to go…” the band commented.

A music video was also filmed for Wrecking Lizzy’s debut single, the theme of which is excellent for the release that happened at the end of October.

“Making the video was really fun and even therapeutic on some level. I hope this liberated joy is transmitted to the viewer as well! At some point, we realized that the video’s dark mirth with shriveled dolls would be a good fit for Halloween week, and here we are now!”

Wrecking Lizzy is:

Lizzy Wilde – vocals
John Curtain – guitar and vocals
Viviane van der Rosa – bass and vocals
