Seventy-three men sailed off to history
Melodic hard rockers Laguna are excited to announce the release of their debut album, titled “The Ghost Of Katrina” and scheduled for July 11th, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.
The band share also the first single and accompanying video “Ghost Behind The Mask”, available now.
Pre-Order “The Ghost Of Katrina” HERE
Vocalist Andrés Espada described the new single by saying: “Ghost Behind The Mask” is a song with a dark aura. Exploring that insidious part of our minds that sows doubt and fuels insecurity, whispering criticism and messages of inadequacy. The song captures the internal struggle against those thoughts that tell us we’re not good enough, that we’re not worthy of love or success. It’s a reminder that often, the toughest battle we face is the one waged within our own minds”.
Hailing from the northern part of Mexico, from the arid desert of Torreón, Coahuila, Laguna is a five-piece hard rock band ready to take the world by storm with their debut album, “The Ghost Of Katrina”.
Drawing from the European and Scandinavian melodic hard rock scene, Laguna’s sound is an electrifying blend of powerful production, anthemic choruses, and in-your-face guitar riffs, with influences from the likes of One Desire, H.E.A.T., and other renowned acts from the scene.
The album, produced by Jimmy Westerlund (known for his work with One Desire and more recently Giant), perfectly captures Laguna’s high-energy and dynamic style, bringing to life a heavy yet melodic sound that’s both thrilling and emotionally charged. The songs feature strong hooks, vibrant instrumentation, and an intensity that reflects the band’s unrelenting passion for hard rock.
Formed in 2018 by a group of hard rock and heavy metal enthusiasts, Laguna’s sound is rooted in hard rock but with a distinctive modern twist. Their music is crafted to make listeners scream at the top of their lungs and throw their fists into the air – a perfect soundtrack for anyone who craves a high-octane, fist-pumping experience.
Laguna’s meteoric rise is a testament to their tireless dedication to their craft. Over the years, they have built a solid reputation in the North and Latin American rock circuits, performing at major festivals like Hell and Heaven Fest (one of Latin America’s biggest rock festivals) and the infamous KnotFest. The band has had the privilege of opening for iconic acts such as W.A.S.P., Timo Tolkki, and The Warning, further solidifying their place in the international rock scene.
Laguna’s music is a reflection of the barren desert from which they hail – a place where resilience and tenacity are born out of hardship. As guitarist José Mesta explains, “Long before it was a desert, it was a lagoon, but dried out thousands of years ago, leaving nothing but snakes and rats, yet deep down beneath the surface, water flows through the caverns of this great desert”. This metaphor speaks to the essence of Laguna – a band born from the depths of hardship, yet ready to rise with the power and energy that only hard rock can bring.
Laguna is set to make waves across the global rock scene. Their blend of melodic hooks, heavy riffs, and explosive energy will leave listeners craving more. This is only the beginning for Laguna, and they are poised to continue proving that Mexicans can indeed rock!

Los Angeles-based Swedish pop band Solence has made a huge comeback with their party metal in recent years.
Now Solence has announced that they will release their next album this year. The release campaign of the upcoming album “Angels Calling” just begun with the release of the single “Where Were You..?”. The song proves that the band, known for party metal and humorous songs, can also handle heavier topics.
“Where Were You..? is about a situation where a friend is not there when you need them most. However, the song keeps the tempo high and the beat big, as is typical for Solence!”, says guitarist David Strääf.
Solence has also updated its visual appearance and sound, combining the best aspects of its past, while looking towards the future.
“For some reason I’ve always had the feeling that my time on earth is limited, as if I’m going to die young. Our music is about making the most of life, relationships and passion before heaven calls us home,” says vocalist Markus Videsäter.

3. Where Were You..?
4. MESS

Swedish metalcore pioneers Adept are back – and louder than ever! After almost nine years of silence, the band makes their long-awaited return today with their new single “Heaven”. Released by Napalm Records, “Heaven” is a raw and cathartic dive into guilt, loss and the constant persecution of personal demons. Powered by fast-paced riffs, dark melodies and a crushing breakdown, the song offers listeners exactly what Adept fans have been waiting for for years.
The single Heaven is released today as a music video only. The cinematic video features strong themes and a modern aesthetic that showcase emotional depth and provide a real visual treat. The song will arrive on streaming services at midnight.
“Heaven is a dark and emotional song about carrying old scars into the present and facing them. The composition is built around heavy riffs, a massive chorus and a raw emotional state. The lyrics are about being stuck in the unresolved issues of life, but also about the strength to overcome them and move on,” says the band’s vocalist Robert Ljung.
Formed in the early 2000s, Adept helped shape the sound of the European metalcore scene in its early years, and the band quickly rose to fame. Adept headed out on international tours and shared stages with the genre’s biggest names, such as A Day To Remember, Underoath and Bring Me The Horizon. The band made an impressive return to the live scene at last year’s Core Fest in Stuttgart, Germany, which created huge anticipation among fans. Now, at the dawn of a new era, Adept is ready to take over the metalcore scene once again.
French symphonic power metal band Fairyland are pleased to share their new single and official video “Karma”, taken from their new studio album “The Story Remains”, scheduled for June 13th, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.
Pre-Order “The Story Remains” HERE
Bassist Willdric Lievin described the new single: “Karma is a song about the type of people who like using others. It’s a song about a selfish, egoistic, self-centered individual who only wants to please himself, without any consideration for other people. His hallmark: empty words, broken promises, words that are not followed by actions. He doesn’t know that by living like this, he hurts people around him. He doesn’t know that “what goes around comes around”. Musically it’s one of the most beautiful gems that Phil Giordana ever made. The majestic, epic, rich orchestrations make this song unique”.
Talking about the new record, Lievin stated: “After the passing of the Fairyland’s founder and mastermind Phil Giordana, we faced the challenge to finish the fifth album. Phil left plenty of material, but it required a lot of further work. It wasn’t easy but in the face of adversity we excelled and managed to complete the album. This, along with a new lineup, starts a new chapter in the history of Fairyland. It continues the symphonic, power metal quality that Fairyland is known for, but we decided to add some new elements to this musical landscape”.
“The Story Remains is richer and more versatile than previous albums, and we are exploring new musical and lyrical territory for the band. We are happy and proud of this new album, and we hope that listening to it will give you a lot of delight. Welcome back to Fairyland”, he continued.
French Symphonic Masters Fairyland are back with the long-awaited album “The Story Remains”. The band is a well-known name in the symphonic metal scene, appreciated and with a specific trademark made of majestic orchestration able to bring the listeners in their fantasy world.
Fairyland was formed in 1998 as Fantasia by Philippe Giordana and Willdric Lievin. Both musicians shared the same passion for epic and symphonic heavy metal. Fantasia recruited guitarist Anthony Parker and entered Wizard Studio in February 2002. During the recording, they found Elisa C. Martin, already known for her work with the power metal band Dark Moor.
At this time, the band’s name was changed to Fairyland. They signed a contract with NTS (now Replica Records). “Of Wars In Osyrhia” was released in April 2003. Shortly after, the band toured with Sonata Arctica and performed at the Swedish Rock Festival.
The second album “The Fall Of An Empire”, was recorded with: P. Giordana, A. Parker, Max Leclerqc , Pierre-Emmanuel “Piwee” Desfray and Thomas “Tom” Cesario, and was released in 2006. A European tour with Kamelot and Leaves’ Eyes followed.
After the tour, the band split up. While working on the new material, Philippe decided to use the services of guest musicians for his next album. “Score To A New Beginning” was released in 2009, also marking the return of Willdric Lievin.
The fourth album “Osyrhianta” was released in 2020 (line-up: Philippe Giordana, Willdric Lievin, Francesco Cavalieri, JB Pol, and Sylvain Cohen).
Philippe Giordana passed away on October 21, 2022. In March 2023 Archie Caine was announced as the band’s new lead singer. In 2024 the line up was completed with Gideon Ricardo, Brieuc De Groof and J.B Pol.
“The Story Remains” perfectly incarnates the band’s trademark sound, and songs like “A New Dawn” or “Karma” are a perfect example of the amazing album that will make every symphonic metal freak’s heart beat with excitement!

Stream here: orcd.co/lastmanstanding
“Last Man Standing” is a powerful death metal track that explores guilt, corruption, and the aftermath of abuse. With raw, intense imagery and a relentless message, it challenges the listener to confront moral decay and personal reckoning. A brutal and visceral journey through a broken world, this track demands accountability and reflection on the choices that destroy lives.
Following the critical underground success of The Third Wave and Magni Mori, Prophets Tomb take their sound to even darker, more expansive places with Through Pain — an album that promises to be a landmark in modern extreme metal.

A couple of years ago, Marsh Tea from Jyväskylä appeared on the Finnish heavy music scene, and his ability to conjure progressive music that penetrates the central nervous system immediately attracted attention in industry circles and music media. The lineup for the debut album consisted of hard-core professionals, Teemu Liekkala (Rioghan, Red Eleven), Valtteri Revonkorve (Rioghan, Leverage) and Nils Ursini (Trio Niskalaukaus), around whose compositions the band was built.
Marsh Tea’s singles, such as Mirrors, Chairs and Convert My Dreams, raised high expectations for the band’s upcoming debut album, but the radio silence that began after the single Stenched Pride left the promising rise unfinished. The walls had come up, and Marsh Tea was ready to be buried. Now, however, the band has found new wind in its sails, and the band’s primus motor Nils Ursin tells us what has happened since the release of the last single:
“After Disturbances In Movements was finished, my hunger grew to such proportions that our time together with Teemu and Valtteri was simply not enough. I had a strong desire to get the band in live shape and I was pushing the guys, way too much. At some point, our conversation led to the conclusion that in the face of other projects and personal life situations, I had to accept that I would continue alone, if at all. Naturally, I was really disappointed and wondered if this was it.”
“My wife saw that disappointment and strongly encouraged me to continue. Heta Hyttinen and a few other people joined that choir. I thought for a long time, ‘Will I be able to put together a new line-up? I don’t know, but we’ll see.’ We are still friends with Valtteri and Teemu. I’m working on other musical projects with both of them, and Teemu will definitely be Marsh Tea’s external ears when planning and making the next stage.”
The next stage is the release of the finished album, which has been maturing in the drawer. Disturbances In Movements, created with the old line-up, will be released on June 6th. You can pre-record the album here. The album was recorded and mixed, except for the drums, by multi-instrumentalist and studio wizard Teemu Liekkala. The drums were recorded under the direction of Tuomas Kokko at Electric Fox studio.

“The new Marsh Tea is a start, one of them, but definitely the last. I’ve learned to calm down, but I try to keep the reins in my hands without squeezing too much. We’ve slowly started to hoe the soil, with no rush remaining as the guiding principle.”
“New material is constantly being created. With the new Marsh Tea music, we’ve practically started from scratch, because the band is completely new. We’ll take over old material when the time comes. There’s a really tough group, professionals with a capital P and some damn good guys,” Nils Ursin enthuses.
The new line-up consist of – Tony Kaikkonen (Red Eleven) as singer, Mikki Rousi (Dead Season, ex-humavoid) on guitar, Jaska Raatikainen (Children Of Bodom, Mercury Circle) on drums, and of course Nils Ursin himself commands the low frequencies. He says that the band plans to tour in the future, but first it’s time to create new music.
Extreme metal band CHTHONIC, which has toured large stages in the Far East, Europe and the United States, ended its long silence in March by releasing the single Endless Aeons, accompanied by a very opinionated video.
Today, the band releases the MEGAPORTAL 2425 live EP, which also features the song Endless Aeons. The EP contains a total of five songs recorded from this and last year’s gigs at the Megaport Festival. These gigs have a recurring theme of breaking the boundary between reality and illusion and creating virtual time and space on stage. In 2024, technology was used that allowed virtual characters to be presented in real time on a large screen. In 2025, the characters appeared physically on stage and interacted with the characters on the screen.
“The concert screen acts as a ‘time and space tunnel’, or in time travel terms, a gateway. Virtual time and space connect to the real world through these gateways. We see the virtual character through the screen, and the character sees us in the real world. When we performed the song Endless Aeons, the character traveled through the gateway and appeared in reality,” says Freddy Lim.
In addition to Endless Aeons, the theme of time and space is also evident in other songs on this live EP. The opening track MEGAPORTAL INTRO layers different versions of the song Takao, creating a chaotic and exciting atmosphere. Quell the Souls in Sing Ling Temple is about the battle between this world and the afterlife. During the acoustic song Defenders of Bú-Tik Palace, Finn, who has appeared in several CHTHONIC music videos over the past decade, was seen on stage. He performed the classic scene where the characters shout the lyrics of the song. Finally, tens of thousands of fans sang the chorus of Takao together, bringing the concert to a perfect conclusion.
CHTHONIC says they will focus on making a new album next, and have no plans to tour in the short term. This live EP is a delicious snack the band serves up to their international fan base, who are eagerly awaiting the band’s next releases and the shows that follow.

MEGAPORTAL 2425 tracklist:
1. MEGAPORTAL INTRO
2. Quell the Souls in Sing Ling Temple
3. Endless Aeons
4. Defenders of the Bu-Tik Palace (acoustic)
5. TAKAO
They say rock can change the world, and Freddy Lim made that a reality during his two terms in parliament, pushing for reforms. He promoted legislation that made Taiwan the first country in Asia to recognize marriage equality, and he pushed for better protection of indigenous rights. He also supported budgets that provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine. He pushed for transitional justice, demanding that the government open secret documents from the authoritarian era so that truth and justice could be realized in society.
In 2023, these declassified archives unexpectedly revealed the tragic and previously unknown history of Freddy Lim’s family. Combining history and mythology, it seemed no coincidence that Chthonic’s music had previously told the sad but courageous stories of Freddy Lim’s grandparents. Freddy was deeply shocked to learn of the news. In a whirlwind of emotions, he decided to end his eight-year parliamentary career and announced that he would not run for office again. He paused to consider the direction of his life and where his music could still take him.
It’s a dream come true, lasting for years. Now everything can begin!”. With these words, Marco Rinaldi announces the official debut of Rimmar, his visionary solo project, and unveils the first single, “Planet Mars,” released via Rockshots Records.
Completely written, composed, and arranged by Rinaldi himself, “Planet Mars” is more than just a song—it’s the first chapter in a sonic journey that blends the power of classic, progressive, and industrial metal with disco and electronic elements. A bold and cinematic opening track that sets the tone for Rimmar’s debut album “Raises”, “Planet Mars” hovers between the past and the future, echoing with the urgency of rebirth and the desire to rise from a stagnant world. As the artist explains, “This album was born in the past, matured in the present, and projected into the future like a spaceship.”
Rimmar is not a traditional band but a one-man artistic endeavor. Marco Rinaldi is the sole author of the lyrics and music, building his songs from riffs and rhythmic structures before enriching them with orchestration, synths, and pads. The words are deeply inspired by readings, dreams, and philosophical reflections, but always subordinate to the music itself — “The word is a servant of music in my case,” he states.
“Raises” features a refined blend of styles and moods, reflective of Rinaldi’s wide musical background and personal influences ranging from 80s metal to 90s prog and even Italian avant-garde artists. The production also benefits from a remarkable cast of guest performers from the Italian rock and metal scene: Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire, Angra) on tow songs “Mighty Messenger” and “Vortex”, Kyo Calati (MindAheaD), Marco Andreotti (Imagine Dragons tribute), Mattia Fagiolo (White Thunder, Dragonhammer), and Alessandro Cola (Eldritch) all contributed their unique voices and energy to the project.
On stage, Rimmar transforms into a full live band with experienced musicians delivering a performance that merges metal intensity with the aesthetics of electronic dance. As Rinaldi explains, “All we are interested in is ‘increasing’, ‘raising’ the volume, the intensity, rising from the rubble of our indifference, superficiality, ignorance and difficulty to communicate with others!”
“Planet Mars” is now available on all digital platforms and marks the beginning of an ambitious musical vision—emotional, genre-defying, and unapologetically bold.

Following the release of “Liminal Spaces” via Rockshots Records, Italian progressive metal act Beriedir unveils the Official Music Video for “Burnout”, the album’s emotional centerpiece.
Musically and lyrically, “Burnout” captures the very essence of the record. A song about mental exhaustion, the crushing weight of self-imposed pressure, and the relentless cycle of overexertion, “Burnout” blends technical complexity with emotional immediacy. The track opens with hammering rhythmic patterns and aggressive riffs before collapsing into a fragile, almost sobbing pause culminating in a melodic death-inspired finale of overwhelming intensity.
“Filling all the time we have, keeping the furnace burning as everything gets consumed. Writing page after page, until something breaks. Silence falls in an instant, like the noises in the forest when a predator is present. But the only threat to us, in the solitude of sleepless nights, is ourselves. The cycle never stops: our mind becomes incandescent, works non-stop, then burns out. Then it starts again.”
The band comments:
“‘Burnout’ is a vocal and instrumental challenge in every aspect. It’s the most representative track of “Liminal Spaces”, where every musical choice mirrors the content of the lyrics. It’s hard to stay emotionally untouched while playing it.”
The official music video, directed once again by Luca Rapuzzi, visually amplifies the tension and vulnerability expressed in the track. Through stark and immersive imagery, Rapuzzi brings the song’s inner conflict and emotional unraveling to life, reinforcing “Burnout” as the album’s defining statement.
With “Liminal Spaces, “Beriedir has taken a bold step away from their power metal roots to fully embrace a progressive, melancholic, and immersive sound. The album explores trauma, nostalgia, longing, and emotional fragmentation, offering a listening experience that resonates deeply with those navigating dark and complex emotional states.
The band’s stylistic shift is both natural and deliberate, shaped by years of personal growth and sonic exploration. As frontman and primary songwriter, Stefano Nusperli explains, it all began with a USB drive full of music from bands like Vision Divine, Dream Theater, Dark Tranquillity, and Children of Bodom—a discovery that sparked the initial flame of Beriedir and ultimately led to “Liminal Spaces”.
Now, with a more collaborative approach and a renewed focus on progressive and alternative metal, Beriedir’s sound draws comparisons to Pain of Salvation, Leprous, Katatonia, Gojira, Trivium, and Dark Tranquillity. The album was mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni at Domination Studio, ensuring a sonic depth that matches its lyrical weight.
