Modern metal newcomer Tetrarch has released their third studio album “The Ugly Side Of Me”

Modern metal’s rising star, Atlanta’s Tetrarch, continues their upward trajectory today with the release of their third full-length studio album, The Ugly Side Of Me. Yesterday, the album’s final single, Best Of Luck, was released, featuring Jackson Guitars’ first female signature artist, Diamond Rowe.

“Best of Luck was a really fun song to write. Josh and I wrote this in just a few hours, and it became a favorite of the preview listeners on the whole album! The song’s title actually has a bit of a comical story. I remember when we were just starting out, we were constantly getting rejection emails from all sorts of people in the music industry. A lot of those emails ended with a polite ‘Best of Luck’ or ‘Best of Luck in the future’, and it was always funny because clearly they didn’t really wish us well!”, laughs Diamond Rowe, and continues:

“Now we’ve achieved a lot of things that were said to be impossible for us. This song is a bit like our ‘Best of Luck’ back at them. No grudges – just some humor thrown in. Maybe it’s just part of our own wickedly witty style.”

The Ugly Side Of Me album tracklist:
1. Anything Like Myself
2. Never Again (Parasite)
3. Live Not Fantasize
4. Erase
5. The Only Thing I’ve Got
6. Best of Luck
7. Crawl
8. Cold
9. Headspace
10. The Ugly Side of Me

If anyone is still wondering if any band can truly take metal and hard rock into the future, the answer is TETRARCH. The band combines the aggressiveness of energetic modern metal and honest lyrics with massive choruses and unforgettable melodies. TETRARCH appeals to both metal fans and listeners outside the genre, offering newcomers a gateway to the world of heavy music.

TETRARCH is:
Josh Fore – vocals/guitar
Diamond Rowe – lead guitar
Ryan “Dooms” Lerner – bass
Ruben Limas – drums

Candlemass covers Black Sabbath’s Sabbath Bloody Sabbath – New EP Black Star also out now

Swedish epic doom metal pioneers Candlemass are celebrating their 40th anniversary in doom metal today by releasing their new Black Star EP and their own version of Black Sabbath’s legendary song Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Originally released in 1973, the song has now been given a new form and the new version has also been complemented by a music video.

Candlemass transformed the song with serious intensity and immense power into a dark funeral march that is on par with the most valuable tributes in the doom genre. The majestic tribute honors the past, but also shakes the walls of today’s crypts.

“Sabbath Bloody Sabbath needs no introduction – it’s one of the best songs ever recorded, if you ask me. Maybe not the most obvious choice, but it’s been a dream of mine to do my own version for a long time, and here it is,” says Candlemass founding member Leif Elding.

The EP features two completely new songs and two covers of timeless classics. Of the new songs, Corridors Of Chaos is a true old-school instrumental that combines classic metal riffs and Lars Johansson’s impressive guitar work, which highlights the band’s dynamics. The other cover is Pentagram’s classic Forever MY Queen.

Candlemass will be going on a tour this summer, which will include shows all over Europe.

Kissin’ Dynamite surprises fans with music video for ‘Queen Of The Night’

German rock band Kissin’ Dynamite released the official music video for their song “Queen of the Night”. The song is from the band’s #1 album “Back With a Bang!”. The album was released by Napalm Records. “Queen Of The Night” delivers what Kissin’ Dynamite does best – fast-paced rock with a big-world feel!

The song was accompanied today by a brand new music video featuring stunning nighttime shots of the streets of Tokyo. The video was filmed during the band’s successful world tour. The tour visited Japan, Brazil and the United States in addition to Japan.

“We just returned from Florida and Brazil, and the feel of Queen Of The Night is strongly connected to the incredible experiences of our world tour. It symbolizes the life, the hustle, the sparkle and the magic that we have experienced on gigs all over the world. We were particularly impressed by the massive scale of Tokyo – that’s why we definitely wanted to shoot scenes at the legendary Shibuya Crossing and downtown for the video,” the band says.

With a true 80s stadium rock attitude, Kissin’ Dynamite has performed at numerous major international festivals, supporting rock legends Mötley Crüe, for example, and touring to sold-out shows of their own. This summer, the band will return to festivals, including the stages of top events such as Summer Breeze Open Air. In the fall, the world tour will continue on an even bigger scale.

Alternative metal band ODC unveil new video “Love, I Tore It Apart”

French alternative metal band ODC are thrilled to unveil their new single “Love, I Tore It Apart”, out now via BLKIIBLK.

With its polished production, dynamic structure, and vulnerable lyrics, this new single places ODC firmly in the new wave of genre-bending metal acts.

Commenting on the track, the band stated: “The track blends heavy, syncopated guitar riffs with electronic textures and powerful, emotional vocals – a bold and cinematic take on modern metal. It dives deep into themes of toxic love, identity loss, and emotional struggle, capturing the chaos of a relationship that slowly destroys from the inside”.

Stream “Love, I Tore It Apart” HERE

ODC is the soundtrack of a hybrid generation. A sonic uppercut, balancing raw power and elegance. It’s also the voice of a generation searching for meaning – standing at the crossroads of styles, cultures, and influences.

Born in Paris in 2017, ODC is the result of two worlds coming together: the world of Celia Do, a vocalist with a striking identity, and that of a composer driven by the same fire – the desire to create an alternative metal project that breaks free from conventions: bold, modern, and uncompromising. From this spark, a true sonic and visual odyssey emerged.

ODC – named after Celia’s stage name acronym – became a totally creative space, where heavy riffs, catchy melodies, and contemporary electronic textures collide in a unique blend of raw energy and polished aesthetic. ODC is a bold blend of metal, modern rock and immersive electronic atmospheres.

Inspired by artists such as Devin Townsend, Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park and BMTH, ODC doesn’t fit in any box. The band asserts its own voice — powerful, hybrid, sharp and emotional.
Their songs are modern mantras, telling stories of freedom, downfall, and resilience. Music that hits hard — and hits deep. A constant dialogue between introspection and explosion.

The band is built around four distinct artistic personalities: Celia Do (lead singer, founder and producer, the rock frontwoman of the band), Sonny, a.k.a. MX MNK (a bassist with roots in hardcore and black metal, and a trash rapper with visceral energy). Then, Raphaël (an 8-string guitarist blending classic rock, hard rock, and atmospheric textures), and Hector (a drummer forged in the death metal scene, delivering explosive rhythmic power).

After a well-received debut EP in 2019 (“Ending The Boredom”), ODC carved their path through a series of powerful singles between 2020 and 2023, asserting their hybrid identity and ability to break genre boundaries. In 2024, the project took a major leap forward: writing their first full-length album, produced in Nashville by Kellen McGregor (Memphis May Fire).

Line Up:
Celia Do – Vocals
MX MNK – Bass
Raphaël – Guitars
Hector – Drums

Memoremains’ third full-length album “Toxic Devotion” is out now

Seinäjoki-based Memoremains has had a fantastic year with a new gig sales deal, notable warm-up shows and catchy singles, and now the pop metal band’s long-awaited third album “Toxic Devotion” has been released!

“Toxic Devotion was born in a fairly unpressured environment, researching and living on the terms of the songs. We did what felt good at the time, and we didn’t take too much stress out of the release. The album deals with a wide range of emotions related to human life, from frustration to anger and from passion to sadness. In order not to be too serious, the heavier topics are also accompanied by that famous twinkle in the eye that is typical of Memoremains’ music. The album’s title is based on a reflection on how devotion to the objects of passion can sometimes turn toxic. Whether it’s working at the expense of one’s own well-being or mistreating relationships while promoting one’s own goals, there is a fine line between when good intentions turn into poison,” says singer Johanna Ahonen.

“Breakdown”, the album’s official lead single, will also be the focus track.

“Breakdown is a fun song because it starts with a fairly traditional rock energy, but when the chorus hits, your dancing feet start to move – the disco beat is surprising, but it feels just right! While doing this, I had the feeling many times that ‘can this be done?’ and then I just said, of course it can. This is exactly the kind of song where surprising combinations work better than you could even imagine. I hope the gang gets excited about this as much as we did in the studio,” Mikko Kujanpää, who composed the song, says.

Memoremains live:
10.5 Brother Firetribe + Memoremains Rytmikorjaamo, Seinäjoki
24.5 Brother Firetribe + Memoremains Olympia, Tampere

Memoremains is:
Johanna Ahonen – vocals
Mikko Kujanpää – keyboards
Aleksi Mäkelä – guitar
Aapo Timonen – bass
Eemeli Timonen – drums

Italian melancholic dark metal band Shores Of Null is proud to unveil their first live album, “Beauty Over Europe,” now available as of May 9th, 2025, via Sulphur Music / Masked Dead Records.

To celebrate its release day, Shores of Null are sharing their new live video, “A Nature in Disguise”. The audio track was recorded live at Backstage in Munich, Germany. Footage is taken from the 2023 European tour with Swallow The Sun, Draconian, and Avatarium, mainly at Barba Negra in Budapest by Péter Lerch.

Watch and listen to the live video for “A Nature in Disguise” at https://youtu.be/Yye8s-6w1rg

“Beauty Over Europe” features 10 tracks recorded during the monumental 2023 European tour with Swallow The Sun, Draconian, and Avatarium. Throughout that tour, Shores of Null performed 35 shows across 18 countries, including Norway, Denmark, Germany, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Hungary, bringing their critically acclaimed album “The Loss Of Beauty” to the stage.

The live recordings, captured in Leipzig, Munich, Aschaffenburg, Budapest, and Belfast, preserve the raw and emotive energy of their performances. Each track reflects the band’s ability to blend melancholic melodies with crushing heaviness, offering fans a visceral live experience.

“Beauty Over Europe” is both a celebration of the tour and a gift to all fans of the band. Exactly two years after that unforgettable journey, this live album offers a chance to relive the emotional intensity and true essence of Shores Of Null’s live performances.

Reflecting on the experience, vocalist Davide Straccione and guitarist Gabriele Giacarri share their thoughts:

“This tour was an incredible journey, the longest in our career, and a true milestone for Shores Of Null. As the promotional tour for The Loss Of Beauty, our latest and most acclaimed album to date, it was an honor to bring these songs to life across 35 shows in 18 countries. Sharing the stage with monumental bands like Swallow The Sun and Draconian—huge inspirations for our music—was unforgettable. Despite the melancholy of their sound, they’re some of the most fun and genuine people we’ve met, and by the end of this epic journey, we were proud to call them friends.

We owe special thanks to our incredible crew—Petri, Matti, Mikko, and Tero—who ensured everything ran seamlessly and made this experience unforgettable. To pay homage to this extraordinary chapter, we decided to produce a live album. Recorded during key moments of the tour, it captures the essence of these unforgettable performances and is dedicated to all the people who supported us live and shared these magical moments with us.” – Gabriele Giaccari

Davide Straccione adds:

“Our 2023 European tour with Swallow The Sun, Draconian, and Avatarium was one of the most beautiful and intense experiences of my life. Night after night, we poured everything we had into our performances, connecting deeply with audiences across 18 countries. It was a journey that marked a pivotal moment in our career as a band as well, and one we’ll carry with us forever. This live album is our way of preserving and sharing that beauty, not only as a gift to those who joined us in the crowd, but also for those who couldn’t be there to witness it.”

About:

Shores of Null stand out from their contemporaries with their ability to blend seemingly disparate elements into their sound, overwhelmingly heavy and soothing at the same time: blackened aggression stands alongside gothic-doom sections without either sounding out of place. Their music can be both melancholic and majestic, made of chorale-like guitar textures across the instrument’s entire range, sustained by a powerful rhythmic section and punctuated by a refined mixture of clean and growled vocals, along with extensive use of pleasing vocal harmonies which have become the band’s trademark through the years.

The Rome-based metal band has been an unwavering presence within the metal underground since their musical outset in 2013, churning out a series of impressive records: the melodic and somber “Quiescence” (Candlelight, 2014), the darker and more complex “Black Drapes For Tomorrow” (Candlelight/Spinefarm, 2017), and the ambitious “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)” (Spikerot Records, 2020), a 38-minute long doom manifesto that sees guest appearances of the doom-titans Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow The Sun) and Thomas A.G. Jensen (Saturnus), along with the angelic voice of Elisabetta Marchetti (Inno).

Shores Of Null’s fourth album, “The Loss Of Beauty”, released in March 2023, was hailed as one of the best albums of the year within the genre. The band supported the release with an extensive EU/UK tour alongside Swallow The Sun, Draconian, and Avatarium, followed by standout performances at major festivals like Hellfest, Rock Imperium, and 70000 Tons Of Metal, among others, further solidifying their status as one of the rising forces in the metal scene.

At The Hollow frontman’s solo band Surunaamio released the third single from their upcoming debut album

Finnish Surunaamio, a solo band by At The Hollow’s frontman Kalle Koo, is set to release self-titled debut album on May 30th 2025 via Isosisko Records. The third single ‘Näkymätön voima’ is unleashed today and it’s available on all essential streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/surunaamio-nakymaton

Tomi Koivusaari from Amorphis comments the single:
“This is a big song. Strong and lovely melodic melancholy a’la Kalle Koo, the wise already know. The playing sounds big in its apparent minimalism, and damn what a drummer! Otherwise, the general atmosphere exudes the presence of the Kingston Wall spirit, which is always tasty. The song is beautiful and the lyrics are meaningful. I like it a lot!”

Matias Rokio from Sargassus, who played the drums on the album:
”Näkymätön voima is personally one of the most important songs on the album. In the song, almost eerily beautiful vocals are combined with the relentless beat of acoustic guitar and drums, which occasionally give way to surprising distortion sections. There are also few songs these days that are as acoustically sensitive as the blast beats familiar from extreme metal!”

BIOGRAPHY:
Behind Surunaamio is a long-time musician and tattoo artist Kalle Koo. In the music scene, Kalle has become known as the frontman and songwriter of At The Hollow. His bright vocals combined with vibrant baritone guitar, double bass, glockenspiel and timpani created something rarely heard on record or on stage. While At the Hollow’s soundscape was serene and sensitive, tranquillity has transformed into rage, anger and power that comes from deep within. The album’s music combines the raw sensitivity and punk attitude of Apulanta’s Kiila with the heavy melodic nature of Dissection’s Reinkaos album. The drums hit hard, the riffs cut deep, and the vocals carry with strength. Despite the heavy surface, Surunaamio also carries a deep blue melancholy, not unlike Juha Tapio. The combination of Surunaamio doesn’t neatly fit into any single genre, but it contains influences from different directions and makes it something entirely its own. Light, shadows and every shade in between.
