Nordic melancholy meets modern heaviness on Depressure’s new album

Depressure has released their new album Worst Is Yet To Come on February 20, 2026. Fusing modern alternative rock and metal with a cold Nordic atmosphere, the record delivers wide walls of guitars and melodic choruses. Its themes dive into human fragility, mortality, and finding yourself when everything feels uncertain.

“If I’m here no more when the time is right?”
“Do we have the strength to become what we want to be?”

Can heavy rock and guitar solos empower the soul? Depressure says yes. Trust instinct. Turn pain into power. Finish what you started — no matter how dark it gets.

Depressure was founded in Joensuu, Finland in 2006. After releasing two demos and performing a handful of shows, the band fell silent for nearly a decade. In early 2018, the project was revived when guitarist-singer Antti Heikura resurrected the band and composed and recorded the debut album September, released on February 19, 2020.

A new chapter began after Antti relocated to Poland, where a fresh lineup formed and live performances resumed, including shows in Gdańsk. Recording sessions for the follow-up album began in autumn 2024, leading to the creation of Worst Is Yet To Come.

“You say you need me, you promise to stay. I’ve been waiting for you, the nights have been cold. Someday this all will be true.”

Finnish-Polish melancholic metal band Depressure’s new single is a story about setting your targets and refusing to live by someone else’s expectations

”Worst Is Yet to Come” is a heavy rock track. The title song of the full-length album, coming out in January 2026, hits you like a Volvo 850. Groovy riffing with melancholic touches nods to bands like Opeth, Sentenced & Kingston Wall. It’s a story about setting your targets and refusing to live by someone else’s expectations. While the upcoming album also has gentler vibes, this one is “Balls to the wall”!

“Stop fooling around, take control, and get the job done — because the worst is yet to come. Depressure: born in Joensuu, reborn in Poland — melancholic-rock audio massage since 2006.” the band hype up.

Depressure. Heavy moods and aching emotions. From melancholic yearning to modern heavy rock, it drills into your brain like a Makita 666. Born in Joensuu, Finland, 2006. Two demos, a few shows, then a decade of silence. In early 2018, Depressure was dragged out of the grave, and the first album was composed and recorded by Antti Heikura. “September” came out on February 19th, 2020.

A new lineup took shape in Antti’s new home country, Poland. Gigs in Gdańsk, more sweat, more drilling. In autumn ‘24, recording of the next album began. Worst is Yet to Come” is set to release in January 2026 and the band is ready to freeze audiences with their northern rock
