Formed in 2020 by experienced musicians from renowned bands such as Pestigore, Born of Thorns, Tukkanuotta and Warmen, Wretched Path was born out of a desire to return to their Death Metal roots. Their debut album received rave reviews from several magazines and websites. Last March, the band released their long-awaited second album, “Sea Of Death”, faster, darker and more intense than ever before. We had the chance to meet them before their show at Meara Klubi and talk about their latest album, influences, live shows and more.

Devenial Verdict & Wretched Path live at Meara Klubi, Pori (Finland) 26.4.2025
Meara Klubi Vol. 38, a metal club organized by Meara Music, an independent and alternative record label/programming agency/event producer, hosted two death metal bands on the stage at Winston Live in Pori on the evening of April 26: Devenial Verdict and Wretched Path.
First on stage were Wretched Path, a five-piece band that combines traditional and modern death metal in an aggressive and engaging way. Their latest album, “Sea of Death”, was released last month. They managed to warm up the crowd with their death metal and headbanging.
Devenial Verdict is a death metal band that offer a fresh approach to the style, especially with their dissonant inclinations. Their music managed to captivate the audience in Pori with its intensity, breadth and atmosphere.
The night was a success despite the club not being full due to other concerts that were on at the same time.

Wretched Path releases epic new single with a music video – New album out next month
Finnish death metal band Wretched Path releases their second album “Sea of Death” on March 26th 2025. First single “Release of Violence” introduced the straight-forward and raw side of the upcoming album. Now released title track of the album dives into the versatile depths with epic touch. The band also releases a music video of the single.
“The lyrics were inspired by the sound of a submarine sonar heard in the original intro, which took the lyricist’s thoughts to the Baltic Sea in 1945, where several ships were sunk during the final days of the war. These events constitute the greatest loss of life ever recorded at sea. This track is the perfect conclusion to the album.” tells the Singer Esa Salminen.

Cross To Bear, Wretched Path & Ecotage live at Meara Klubi, Pori (Finland)
Another appointment with Meara Klubi, this time setting on fire the stage were: Ecotage a hardcore metal band, whose songs focus on animal rights and environmental issues, Wretched Path a death metal band formed in 2020, whose crew has a solid experience: the collective curriculum of the band members includes names like Pestigore, Northern Discipline, Tukkanuotta, Daniel Lioneye and Godsplague, and Cross To Bear a band that has solidified their place in the domestic hardcore scene over the past decade and serve dark and heavy hardcore, which was also influenced by old school death metal.
