Saxon releases music video for their 1066th song – European tour starts next week

British metal legends Saxon are celebrating their upcoming European tour by releasing a music video for their 1066th song. The song comes from last year’s ‘Hell, Fire And Damnation’ album, which was released by Silver Lining Music.

“This is a really British-themed song, which is actually about the destruction of the Saxons. Some time ago I wrote the song Saxons and Vikings with Amon Amarth, which was about the destruction of the Vikings in England, after which the Saxons rose to power. I wrote this song to be set 600-700 years later, when William the Conqueror overthrows the Saxons,” says Saxon singer Biffy Byford.

The band, who have spent a lot of time on tour since the album’s release, are not letting up, and are starting their Hell, Fire And Steel tour in Bremen, Germany on February 4th. In addition to songs from the new album, the tour will also feature the band’s classic album ‘Wheels Of Steel’ in its entirety. The tour will feature Girlschool as support and Grand Slam as special guest.
