Underwater Father’s second single is a song about addiction, depression, and anxiety

2024 formed Finnish Underwater Father releases their debut EP “Without
Waves” on April 29th 2025. Now released song and music video “Drowned” is the second single from EP. The track fuses the raw intensity of black metal with the crushing melodies of melodic death metal and heavy, chugging riffs. Towards the end, hardcore and punk metal influences emerge, adding depth and dynamic contrast.

Listen to the single on music services (Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer jne.): https://push.fm/fl/underwaterfather-drowned

The band tells about the song:
“What’s the song about? Well, cheerful topics like addiction, depression, and anxiety. In this story, the protagonist’s life slips out of control — like a bar of soap in a prison shower — until they ultimately decide to paint a picture… with their victim’s blood. The lyrics, penned by Samu Haatainen and Jere Harju, take the listener deep into the darkest corners of addiction, portraying its pain, destruction, and the extreme consequences that unfold when things spiral too far.

The track also features guest vocals by Jere Harju. “Drowned” is not only a stark depiction of addiction’s hopelessness but also a powerful collaboration, where Harju’s distinctive voice and lyrics bring an intense and haunting element to the song’s conclusion”

Biography:
Formed in the summer of 2024, Underwater Father was born from the vision of Samu Haatainen (guitars, vocals), who sought to create something darker and more stripped-down compared to their other band, Of Spite. Sharing most of its members with Of Spite, the lineup consists of Antti Lampinen (bass), Jan Lindberg (guitars, backing vocals), and Joonas Nieminen (drums) — a tight-knit unit with a shared passion for pushing metal’s boundaries.

Musically, Underwater Father weaves together the ferocity of black and death metal with the emotional depth of melodic metal. Drawing influences from bands like Mgła, Horna, Uada, Cradle of Filth on the extreme side and Sentenced, Bloodpit, and Somehow Jo! etc. On the melodic spectrum, the band creates music that is both crushing and atmospheric. Lyrically, their songs explore themes of birth, death, karma, and the search for meaning in life’s journey—both the light and the darkness that shape our fate.

Finnish Hard Rock newcomer Phantomy released High Octane single – debut album out in June

Phantomy from Iisalmi, Finland released their debut single High Octane, which will be featured on the band’s upcoming debut album From the Wild, set for release on June 13th 2025 via Inverse Records.

From the Wild offers listeners a heavy dose of old-school rock’n’roll attitude blended with hard rock and heavy metal — the kind of music that’s made to blast in smoke-filled garages and inside beer-soaked, velvet-upholstered muscle cars.

High Octane represents the catchier and lighter side of the album, but the band still keeps the pedal firmly to the metal. When the intro kicks off, the listener won’t dare — or even want — to jump off this ride.

LISTEN to High Octane single: https://push.fm/fl/phantomy-high

Phantomy’s guitarist Rasmus Laurila describes the song:
“The guys in the band used to describe our music as high-octane rock’n’roll, and that’s where the idea for the whole song came from. One time at our cabin, after a few beers, I was just jamming on my acoustic guitar and almost the entire song came together in just a few minutes — starting from the intros hard rocking boogieriff. Later on, I wrote the vocals and wanted to throw in some epic 80s-style harmonies and high-soaring singing. The song ended up being exactly what I wanted: full throttle from start to finish, and it really reflects who we are as a band.”

Line-up:

Samu Karhu – Vocals
Eetu Räsänen – Guitar & backing vocals
Rasmus Laurila – Guitar & backing vocals
Roope Lappalainen – Bass
Herkko Lappalainen – Drums

POWER METAL MASTERS INSANIA ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM “THE GREAT APOCALYPSE” SET FOR RELEASE ON JUNE 13TH, 2025 VIA FRONTIERS MUSIC SRL

Swedish power metal masters Insania are pleased to announce the release of their new studio album “The Great Apocalypse”, out on June 13th, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.
The first single and accompanying visualizer video, “Revolution”, are available now, giving the audience a taste of the upcoming record.

Pre-order “The Great Apocalypse” HERE

About the new album, the band commented: “The Great Apocalypse picks up just where Insania V left us, and many of the songs are touching the subject of mankind being destructive and never learning from our previous mistakes. In fact, every song on this album is a little bit darker than the songs on Insania V, so sit back, raise the volume on your device, and let yourself flow into the darkness of our world going under with an incredible and beautiful sound of The Great Apocalypse”.

Talking about the first single, they added: “Revolution is a story about a world that is becoming more and more like a mental institution. Imagine the world’s leaders embedding their desire to keep the power into fancy words about trying to make society equal and just for all people serving it. At the same time, they take away their rights, making it look like the people are voting for them to do it – wouldn’t that be just pure evil? Well – the people have had enough! So now it’s time for the world leaders to feel the fear and listen to the sound of Revolution!”

Four years after the successful “V”, the Swedes are back with their own recipe of power metal, full of speedy, double-bass drums, great hooks, and amazing solos. The band’s current line-up consists of Mikko Korsbäck (drums), Erik Arkö (bass), Niklas Dahlin (guitars), Ola Halén (vocals and guitars).

The first version of Insania was formed in 1992 by drum player Mikko Korsbäck and guitar player Henrik Juhano. Bass player Tomas Stolt was added to the line-up shortly after, and a few other musicians were also part of the band for short periods of time.

The band initially started off playing covers of their favorite bands such as Helloween and Iron Maiden, but eventually Mikko’s classmate Niklas Dahlin joined as a second guitar player and they started writing their own tunes. The band then added keyboard player Patrik Västilä and began to pursue a more melodic style. Mikko took it upon himself to sing, even if he was playing the drums at the same time, as the band had not found a vocalist to match their ambitions.

In 1997, the band approached singer David Henriksson to join the band. The union between the band’s ambitions and David’s vocals was a match made in heaven. The band felt complete and sought to find a way to reach a bigger crowd.

Later, the band was offered a deal with House Of Kicks (later known as MNW and then Sound Pollution) and their debut album “World Of Ice” was released in 1999. The band would go on to release three more albums over the course of the coming years, while enduring some line-up changes and eventually going on hiatus in 2007.

Following the signing with Frontiers to release “V”, Insania started to bring their power metal attack again back to the metalheads around the globe, revitalized with the addition of the singer extraordinaire Ola Halén.

“The Great Apocalypse” Tracklist:

1.    The Trinity
2.    Indestructible
3.    No One’s Hero
4.    Afterlife
5.    Revolution

Gothic Rock/ Hard Goth Discovery BLAX Signs With Wormholedeath

Wormholedeath is proud to announce the signing of Italian gothic rock/hard goth revolutionaries BLAX for their highly anticipated sophomore album, “Certesia”, slated for release on 25th April 2025. A storm of shadow and steel, BLAX merges brooding gothic atmospheres with industrial grit, alternative edge, and the unapologetic fury of hard rock/metal, crafting a sound that defies genre walls while paying homage to the dark romanticism of ’80s icons.

Following their 2022 debut “Meravilia”—a cult favorite that carved their name into the underground—“Certesia” marks a journey inward. The album explores a metaphorical “village” of personal certainties, with each track dissecting introspective facets of identity. “This isn’t just music—it’s a pilgrimage,” says the band. “‘Certesia’ is where we confront our shadows and embrace the chaos of self-discovery. It’s raw, theatrical, and unflinchingly honest.”

BLAX’s artistry extends beyond sound. Their striking visual identity embodies a “goth family” ethos, blending vampiric elegance with punk rebellion. This aesthetic depth amplifies their live shows, where haunting melodies collide with primal energy—a spectacle that has electrified stages at Masters of Rock (CZ), Rock Castle (SK), and festivals across Europe.

Born in March 2020 as the solo vision of vocalist Giampaolo Polidoro (Blax) and guitarist Marco Fanella (Hektor), BLAX evolved into a formidable quintet with Emil Dellantonio (Hexen) on guitar, Carlo Notarfonso (Xavier) on bass, and Luca Urbinati (ANON) on drums. After signing with AlphaOmega and conquering stages from Bulgaria to London, the band now readies their most ambitious work yet with Wormholedeath.

BLAX is bringing storm across Europe, with their cinematic live ritual to:

Finnish modern metal band Volucrine release The Verge music video – new album in progress

The Finnish modern metal band Volucrine released a new music video ‘The Verge’. The track is taken from their latest ETNA album which was release last year via Inverse Records.

Vocalist Jupe Velin comments:
“The ETNA cycle is nearing its end, and we want to wrap it up by releasing a music video for THE VERGE, a song that reflects on the 2023-2024 tour we did in support of the album. This album cycle has been the most important of the band’s career, starting with the release of the first singles. During this time, we grew into a fully-fledged band once again, survived the pandemic, played more shows than ever before, shattered all personal streaming records, released the most polished album of our career, and multiplied our fan base several times over.

Along the way, we also got to re-experience just how amazing the camaraderie in the band is. We truly enjoyed being on the road, and there was never a lack of laughter, even to the point of oxygen deprivation. And a HUGE thanks to the audience! We live for your accepting smiles, your raised fists, and the energy you give us, always coming back to us tenfold. This energy is what fueled the creation of THE VERGE music video, a party anthem about escaping reality, featuring footage captured from the road that radiates positive vibes.

We will begin recording our fifth Volucrine album in Kouvola this spring, with the goal of releasing fresh music before the end of the year. There are more than a dozen new tracks, and while the legacy of ETNA can certainly be heard in them, prepare to expect the unexpected, as is our band’s style. The album will once again be produced by the band’s bassist, Joni Kyynäräinen (KyySounds). Marko Orava and Erik Lindroos will make their debut on the guitars for this album.”

You’ll get a preview of the new material at Volucrine’s spring shows in Finland, as follows:
Bar Loose, Helsinki – April 9
Bar 15 Basement, Seinäjoki – May 3
Rage on Stage / Möysän Musaklubi, Lahti – May 10

LISTEN/BUY ETNA album: https://push.fm/fl/volucrine-etna

BIOGRAPHY:
Volucrine are a modern metal band that grew up by the cold Kymijoki river, in the shadows of Kouvola’s concrete structures. Founded in 2009, Volucrine’s mission has been, ever since the beginning, to tell stories of relatable emotions and challenges; to reflect and articulate humane themes beyond the borders of pain. The band’s style of genre-defying melodic alternative metal with vigorous guitar riffs, catchy choruses, and varied, rich vocal arrangements has only grown and refined over the years. Volucrine’s characteristic sound is created by mixing elements of progressive metal, melodic death metal and metalcore with the conventions of pop and rock music. This mixture creates a heartfelt but heavy style of music, where genuine emotion and primal frenzy go hand in hand.

At the beginning of 2024, the band released their fourth full-length album, ETNA, and were eager to get back on stage after spending a long time working in the studio. Volucrine thrive on energetic live shows and are a true force of nature on stage, bringing a positive energy and uncompromising power to each performance. Operating at the turning point of their 15-year journey, the reformed band is finally in its purest form and is ready for everything the future has to offer.

Line-up:
Jupe Velin – vocals
Joni Kyynäräinen – bass
Antti Heikkilä – guitar
Jani Aalto – drums & percussion

Blackened Death Metal Enigmatic Band YHWH Signs With Wormholedeath

In a thunderous collision of Belgian and Thai extreme metal sensibilities, enigmatic blackened death metal project YHWH has inked a devastating deal with Wormholedeath, preparing to unleash their debut EP “Tetragrammaton” on April 25, 2025.

Forged in the shadowy depths of underground metal, YHWH emerges as a cryptic musical entity led by composer Schem HaMephorash and her sister C. Bones, with S.M. Goat Ritual joining their ritualistic sonic assault in June 2024. Their debut EP represents a raw, uncompromising exploration of extreme metal’s most primal instincts.

“These tracks are eight years in the making,” the band cryptically reveals. “No overarching concept—just a relentless progression of sonic brutality inspired by the most extreme metal pioneers.”

“Tetragrammaton” promises to be an unfiltered descent into the most visceral realms of blackened death metal, drawing inspiration from the genre’s most relentless predecessors.

Radelmare to release brutal headbanging track ‘You Don’t Know Anything’

Finnish modern metal band Radelmare is set to release their second single ‘You Don’t Know Anything’ on April 2dn. The band describe this song as brutal headbanging metal.

Radelmare’s music combines the 80s’ raucous guitar riffs with the punch of modern metal, the rumbling bass takes care of the low frequencies and the vocals range from screams to pure vocals.
If you try to describe the band’s music through other bands, it’s a mix of Motörhead, Mötley Crüe, Pantera, Slipknot and Bring Me The Horizon.
