Finnish Thrash Legends BLOODRIDE Issue March Studio Update + Reveal First Details of Upcoming Album

Finnish thrash veterans BLOODRIDE are back in the studio, forging their
fifth album into a relentless sonic onslaught. Fueled by raw energy and
precision, the band promises a thrash metal assault that will push
boundaries and leave no neck unthrashed.

Now, BLOODRIDE unveils the album title: ”Deafening”—a name as intense as
the music itself!

In their latest Studio Confessions from the Heart of the Metal Storm,
guitarist Teemu Vähäkangas and bassist Esa Pennala share insights into
the process:

Teemu: “The votes for the album title were bloody, but here we go—it’s
Deafening! Everyone can interpret that as they wish. And as you can see
from the tracklist, our songs still aren’t about kittens or sunny spring
days…”

Esa: “Yeah, we’re sooo brutal! We’re also starting work on videos now.
The hardest part was choosing which songs to feature. Since we try to be
a democratic band, there was some voting involved.”

Teemu: “Not an easy task, because on this album, there are no
fillers—only killers! Haha!”

Tracklist for Deafening:

1 Sardonic Grin (Intro)
2 Kill without Hate
3 Come in Peace
4 Hindsight Einstein
5 Ashes Remain
6 Holy Simplicity
7 King of Pain
8 The Dark Triad
9 Simply Complicated

MonoMassive Spring Edition, Pori(Finland) 1.3.2025

Meara Music, after the success of the two summer editions of the MonoMassive festival, opted for a spring edition to satisfy fans of extreme metal music. The festival was held at the Annis culture house in Pori, the bands that played were Putrid Defecation, Inferia, Cannibal Accident, Bob Malmström and Rotten Sound.
Putrid Defecation, founded in Espoo in 2019, proclaims the good news of toilet humor with heavy riffs and a relaxed attitude. The band released their first full-length in early 2025.
Founded in 1989, INFERIA from Lahti is one of the original Finnish death/grind bands, still active today. The band’s grindcore is based on Napalm Death, Deicide and Cannibal Corpse-style rough-and-tumble, mixing their own distinctive death metal and hardcore into this broth. Inferia is characterized by erotically nuanced lyrics, in the porndeath/grind spirit.
Cannibal Accident is a Turku-based hybrid of old-school grindcore, death metal, d-beat hardcore and mosh parties, founded in 2007. The discography includes four albums and a slew of other releases. The fifth full-length, Disgust, was released in February 2025. Live, the orchestra delivers with a fiercely tight and merciless energy.
Bob Malmström, The one and only, The true originators and crowned kings of borgarcore.
Originally from Vaasa, Rotten Sound has been hammering out their relentless grind for 31 years, with no intention of calming down or slowing down. Their latest album “Apocalypse” brought a whole new energy to their live shows. Numerous tours, festivals, albums, EPs and club gigs have honed Rotten Sound into a diamond that sets off car alarms in nearby neighborhoods and forces pits to extreme speeds.
The whole festival was a mix of extreme music, fun and pure energy.

Dungeon Synth / Folk Discovery Teeth Of The Fae Presents “To Gain The Confidence Of Owls”

Teeth Of The Fae presents their latest single, “To Gain The Confidence Of Owls,” from their album “Beneath Pointed Hat.” The single blends enchanting dungeon synth with folk-inspired elements, offering listeners a glimpse into the deeply atmospheric world created by Jamie Prentice’s mind.

“To Gain The Confidence Of Owls” showcases the project’s unique sound, drawing on ancient folklore and the whispers of faerie lore. This single is part of Beneath Pointed Hat, a multifaceted album split into two distinct halves. The first section, Abode I, features some of the most authentic old-school dungeon synths the project has yet crafted, evoking the shadowy and mysterious spirit of the genre. In contrast, the second half, Abode II, will transport listeners to lighter, new-age-inspired realms.

Teeth Of The Fae began its journey in January 2024, with Jamie Prentice crafting the solo project’s distinctive sound. The debut album, I Can Feel This Land Breathe, dropped in March 2024, offering raw dungeon synth and dark ambient influences drawn from Faerie Lore and the landscapes of England. Subsequent releases like Comforted By Sorrow and A Heart Full of Swords explored Catholic imagery, while Our Ways Are the Old Ways blended dungeon synth and neofolk. In July 2024, The Unseen Beckons marked a shift toward raw, folky black metal with vocals, inspired by Finnish melodic tremolo and Catholicism. This shift paved the way for Beneath Pointed Hat, which masterfully blends dungeon synth, neofolk, and whimsical sounds, incorporating influences from Mortiis, Enya, and Ulver. Teeth Of The Fae continues to push boundaries, creating an enchanting and otherworldly listening experience. Set for release via Wormholedeath, the album marks a new chapter, as Teeth Of The Fae is ready to enchant a broader audience and take listeners deeper into its mystical soundscapes.

Symphonic Folk Metal VALLORCH’s releases New Album “The Circle”

The wait is over! Vallorch returned on March 14, 2025, with their highly anticipated album, “The Circle,” which is the band’s most ambitious and immersive work to date. Building upon their folk and symphonic metal roots, the band refines its signature sound into a dynamic fusion of powerful riffs, enchanted melodies, and cinematic orchestration.

Following the release of the anthemic “Circle Of The Moon” and the raucous folk metal celebration “Drink Some More!”, “The Circle” delivers an even broader spectrum of emotions and soundscapes. The album revolves around the theme of the night, capturing its dual nature—a time for reflection and solitude but also revelry and connection. From grandiose symphonic arrangements to festive folk elements, each track immerses the listener in a journey through legends, emotions, and the band’s signature sonic landscapes.

Compared to their previous works, “Neverfade” (2013) and “Until Our Tale Is Told” (2017), Vallorch has evolved their songwriting, crafting an album that is tightly composed and emotionally resonant. The folk influences remain, but with an even more polished and cinematic touch, elevating their sound to new heights.

Fans of Nightwish, Eluveitie, Alestorm, Epica, and Wind Rose will find themselves drawn into Vallorch’s world, where folk traditions and symphonic metal collide in an unforgettable experience. With myth-inspired lyrics, powerful storytelling, and an undeniable passion for their craft, Vallorch cements their place as one of the most exciting acts in modern folk metal.

March 14 marks a new era for Vallorch. “The Circle” isn’t just an album—it’s an invitation to journey through the night, to embrace the contrasts of light and dark, and to lose yourself in the magic of Vallorch’s sound.

ABOUT:

VALLORCH was born in December 2010, when Marco Munari (NewSun), Matteo Patuelli (Alzhagoth), and Massimo Benetazzo came up with the idea right after attending a concert together. Inspired by the energy and spirit of the event, they decided to form their own band, and the name VALLORCH—taken from a small Cimbrian village on the Cansiglio plateau—was quickly chosen as a tribute to their cultural roots.

For the first year, VALLORCH experimented with different sounds and musicians, searching for the right lineup. By January 2012, the group solidified with the addition of vocalist/flutist Sara, vocalist/bassist Leonardo Dalla Via, multi-instrumentalist Andrea ‘Demetrio’ Rampin (playing tin whistle, bagpipes, accordion), and violinist Francesco Salviato. This seven-member ensemble debuted live in March 2012, promoting their newly released EP Stories of North. Their captivating blend of folk metal quickly gained traction, earning them recognition in the Italian scene and leading to performances at events like Fosch Fest, where they opened for major bands.

However, the summer of 2012 brought changes. Violinist Francesco parted ways with the band, and Martina Mezzalira took his place. Around the same time, VALLORCH signed a record deal with Moonlight Records and entered the studio to work on their first full-length album. Released in 2013, Neverfade was met with critical and fan acclaim, blending fast-paced, melodic jigs with guttural and clean vocals, alongside powerful death metal riffs. This success landed them performances at major international festivals like Metaldays.

2014 saw further lineup shifts. Andrea Demetrio Rampin left the band, replaced by Paolo Pesce on accordion, hurdy-gurdy, and keyboards. Meanwhile, vocalist Sara took over tin whistle and bagpipe duties. Founding member Matteo Patuelli also stepped down, making way for guitarist Mattia Buggin to join. Despite these changes, VALLORCH pressed forward, embarking on their first European tour with Artaius. They played in Germany, Czechia, France, Belgium, and Slovakia, culminating in a performance opening for Mägo de Oz at the Metal for Emergency festival.

Later that year, they returned to the studio to record their second full-length album, Until Our Tale Is Told (2015). The album reflected the band’s growing compositional maturity and led to more festival appearances and live shows over the next two years.

In 2016, Riccardo Gianni briefly joined the band as a violinist, performing at several major local festivals. However, by 2019, the band was once again at a crossroads. After a series of lineup changes and creative challenges, founding member Marco Munari decided to leave the group. The remaining members—Massimo, Sara, Leo, Mattia, and Marco—faced a difficult choice: either disband or evolve. They chose to reinvent themselves as a five-piece band.

The global restrictions from 2020 to 2022 made live performances difficult, but the band used this time to focus on writing new material. By 2023, VALLORCH returned to the stage, opening for renowned acts like Alestorm, Wind Rose, and Rhapsody Of Fire.

Now, in 2025, VALLORCH is set to release their highly anticipated new album, “The Circle”, marking a triumphant return. Reborn from the ashes of their former selves, they are ready to take the world by storm once again.

Symphonic Blackened Death Metal Discovery RawMoor Signs With Wormholedeath

Prepare for a cataclysmic fusion of symphonic grandeur and unrelenting darkness as RawMoor, the rising titans of symphonic blackened death metal, announce their signing with Wormholedeath Records and the global release of their debut album, En Route, set to storm the gates on May 2, 2025.

“We are pleased to announce the signing of our pact with Wormholedeath, to now have their force backing our descent upon the world!” said the bandWe brewed and smoldered in silence long under the black stone that roofs every hollow hosting aspiring combatants, battling for the honor of carrying the torch for Satan, with our flame nigh quenching in the process, until our menace could no longer be contained. We drew the admiration of our audience and they whipped us on until finally, we burst open through that stone, our release now on display for all to see.

That much can be accomplished by anyone. But Carlo and Wormholedeath soon got on our trail, offering us a backing that now elevates our possibilities to compete for a place among the greatest of names in Black Metal. They pave our way, map us our roads, and guide us to growth in darkness.

Our vow from here on out is to deliver our power in full, to burn as the brightest of flame until our fuel runs out and another takes our place. This will be our unending service. For Satan.””En Route” delves into themes of treachery and betrayal, both on national and personal scales, alongside aspirations for sovereignty and critiques of left-wing ideology. Unapologetically political, it stands as an anti-religion, pro-freedom statement.

Musically, it embraces the essence of Symphonic Black Metal drawing inspiration from Dimmu Borgir, Agathodaimon, Windir, Cradle of Filth, and Finntroll. The result is a dark, cinematic soundscape that balances grandeur with aggression.

Lyrically, the album is born from Moordrawn’s deep frustration and disillusionment with a world spiraling into decay.

Emerging from the shadows of the metal underground, RawMoor has forged a reputation for blending haunting orchestral melodies with blistering death metal savagery. Their debut album, En Route—initially self-released in September 2024—captivated fans and critics alike, earning acclaim for its seamless marriage of brutality and sophistication. Now, armed with the backing of Wormholedeath, RawMoor is poised to ascend to new heights, bringing their apocalyptic soundscapes to a global audience.

What began in 2016 as the solo endeavor of multi-instrumentalist Moordrawn (vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards, orchestration) evolved into a formidable alliance with longtime collaborator Brim (vocals). Together, they finished En Route, a concept album steeped in treachery, sovereignty, and existential rebellion themes. Guest guitarist Renton (tracks 2, 3, 6) adds searing solos, further cementing the album’s dynamic range.

RawMoor embodies the raw intensity and artistic ambition that defines extreme metal,” says Carlo Bellotti, CEO of Wormholedeath. “En Route is not just an album—it’s a manifesto. We’re thrilled to amplify their vision and introduce their chaos to the world.”

Female-Fronted Powerhouse Ylisia Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Lost Brother Ahead of The Hague Showcase

Wormholedeath is proud to announce the release of the lyric video for “Free”, a powerful and heartfelt track from Ylisia’s critically acclaimed album Underneath. The video, featuring visually captivating footage from Jarno Cordia’s Showreel, perfectly complements the raw emotion of the song. “Free” was written by vocalist Liesbeth Cordia following the loss of her brother, adding a deeply personal layer to the symphonic metal masterpiece.

In Liesbeth’s words: “A heartfelt tribute to a loved one lost too soon. This song confronts the overwhelming pain of grief and the struggle to find peace. It’s tough as I wrote it for my brother, who was only 44 when he died in a base-jumping accident. It’s a cathartic expression of loss and the feeling of never-ending emptiness. At the same time, it depicts that he was always a free spirit who can now, in death, be one with “source” and in a sense, “fly free, being one with the sky.”

On April 26, Ylisia will storm the stage at Paardcafé, The Hague, for a free-entry performance brimming with emotional intensity. The setlist will feature “Free,” timed to honor the birthday of Jarno Cordia (April 25), whose artistic legacy inspired the video’s visuals. Symphonic metal band Abstracted Mind  founded by the Argentine duo Juli Hope and Yamil Ladner, and featuring Ylisia’s very own drummer Eva Levina will open the night—experience their sound: https://youtu.be/8A3Y-Yi4E74

Since their formation in 2021, Ylisia has been capturing hearts and minds with their symphonic metal fusion, powerful vocals, and infectious melodies. Drawing inspiration from bands like The Gathering, Evanescence, Within Temptation, and Kate Bush, they’ve quickly become a live performance force to be reckoned with, gracing renowned stages at festivals such as FemME, Bevrijdingfestival Wageningen, and Nieuwveen Live.

Their debut album Underneath is not just another symphonic metal album—it’s an emotionally rich and personal journey, crafted over two decades by keyboardist George van Olffen. From heavy rock anthems to atmospheric ballads, tracks like “September,” “Pain,” and “Underneath” show off the band’s diverse sound. But it’s “Free,” written in the wake of deep personal loss, that truly stands out, delivering a powerful message of hope, grief, and resilience.

Produced with care by Daan Janzing and featuring stunning artwork by Gogo Malone, Underneath is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates raw emotion and musical depth.

The Vantages, who have emerged as one of the most interesting dark rock acts, release Darker from their upcoming EP

The Vantages, who last year made the music industry and fans alike giddy with their eponymous EP, are heading towards their second EP release. Thursday, we got a sneak peek of the package to be released later this year with the single Darker.

“Darker is a fast-paced, pounding banger inspired by Japanese indie. A 2-step beat and a surf vibe in front of a tsunami,” says the band’s vocalist and primus motor, Tim Mikkola, describing the end result.

After The Vantages’ trusted mixer Mauri Syrjälä (Suomenlinnan Studio), the whole thing was finalized at Abbey Road Studios in London, operated by Stefan Brown.

“Stefan is a funny and talented guy, I went to say hello to him at Abbey Road when I was in London at the end of the year. It restored my faith in mastering, we will continue to work closely together in the future,” Mikkola continues.

The highly visual band will also release a music video for the song Darker, which is a joint creation of Tim Mikkola and Kari Westerlund, who made the band’s previous Dramatique video, for example. The video was mainly shot in the premises of a restaurant that was under renovation.

“This was one of those ‘viva la process’ type progs, where you let the cat drop and trust that it will land on its paws. Kari and I, as fans of Wong Kar-Wai, first set out to chase the ‘Fallen Angels’ aesthetic, but on the cutting table we ended up preferring the sizzle instead of melancholic cinema”, says Tim.

The Vantages are:
Anton Froloff, rhythm guitar and keyboards
Henri Schröter, drums
Tim Mikkola, vocals
Mikko Janatuinen, lead guitar
Aleksi Larkovuo, bass

Killing Eliza, a group of professional musicians, released the first single from their upcoming EP

Killing Eliza is a fresh energy pack of Finnish heavy rock, whose music features mind-bending riffs and pop-driven melodies that create an aggressive and catchy foundation for channeling anger, joy, sadness and love.

The band began the release process of their debut EP Pushing Daisies by releasing the first single, Under The Gun. Stylishly blending electronic elements with the soundscape of modern rock, the song examines a dark phase of life retrospectively.

“Under the Gun was born in retrospect from an experience in the depths of depression. When you gained some distance from the situation, it was possible to reflect on it in a new light – how it feels when everything around you changes and the direction becomes blurred, but you still have to find a way forward. The song came about quickly and effortlessly, as if it were a natural outpouring of past feelings and insights. It asks its listener: when life gets tough, will a person rise up or give up?”, the band ponders.

Killing Eliza’s members consist of professional musicians whose career paths have earned them fame both in Finland and internationally. Members have been seen in bands such as Kwan, Killer, Sunrise Avenue, Clarkkent, Antti Tuisku, Fireal, ORDER!ORDER! and Modern Day Citizen.

Each member of the band brings their own interpretation of Eliza’s mystery, which varies between rock, metal and pop, with their years of experience. Killing Eliza’s tight and energetic live form guarantees that the band will quickly carve their way into an unmissable live experience. Heavy rhythms, melodic hooks and vocal performances that defy the forces of nature show that Killing Eliza is here to redefine what modern rock can be.

Killing Eliza is:
Mikko Rannikko, vocals
Antti Mäki, guitar
Kusti Kaukoniemi, bass
Teijo Jämsä, drums
