CATHARIA Unleashes Single “Devouring Firmament” Off New Album “Unimaginable Dreams of Fate” Out December 2024

Catharia returns with their intense new single “Devouring Firmament”, taken from the highly anticipated second album, “Unimaginable Dreams of Fate” to be released on December 6th, 2024 via Extreme Metal Music, a subsidiary of Rockshots Records.

This track is a powerful evolution from their debut, blending black, death, and progressive metal influences with raw emotion and intricate melodies. Influences like Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, and Dissection run deep, but Catharia has carved out its own dark, complex sound.

Spotify – https://spoti.fi/3URdLTQ

Catharia, an American black/extreme metal, is set to make waves once again with their highly anticipated second album “Unimaginable Dreams of Fate”

Founded by guitarist Matt Powell in the late 2010s, the band was born from his desire to create a sound that is dark, aggressive, and technical yet deeply melodic. With roots in black metal, Catharia‘s music explores new dimensions, refusing to be confined by genre expectations. After a series of lineup challenges, Powell forged ahead recording the band’s debut album “Midnight Sun” with engineer Jackson Ward. The addition of vocalist Nick Kiefer, who joined after impressing with a Wiegedood cover, helped solidify Catharia’s sound. With bassist Dylan Thompson and drummer Michael Edrington now in the fold, the band is stronger than ever and ready to deliver their most ambitious work to date.

“Unimaginable Dreams of Fate” represents a bold evolution in Catharia’s sound—more technical, layered, and diverse than their debut, yet unmistakably rooted in the intensity of blackened extreme metal. The album takes listeners on a sonic journey, shifting from chaotic, full-throttle passages to atmospheric, melodic interludes.

With tracks like “Tomb Throne” and “Solemnly” already setting the stage, fans can expect an album that delves deeper into the band’s creative vision while keeping its raw, visceral energy intact.

“Unimaginable Dreams of Fate” is just the beginning of a new chapter for Catharia, with more music, live shows, and creative exploration on the horizon.

Montreal’s MAD PARISH Unveils Album Teaser For Epic Progressive NWOTHM Concept Album “The Dust Of Forever” + Comic Book Out January 2025

Montreal, Canada’s heavy metal visionaries Mad Parish announce they will be releasing their highly anticipated concept album “The Dust Of Forever” this coming January 2025. This forthcoming ambitious project marks a new pinnacle in the band’s decade-long journey. “The Dust Of Forever” is not just an album; it’s a multi-faceted experience that pushes the boundaries of heavy metal storytelling. Spanning 21 tracks, the band’s second full-length weaves an original narrative following Joe, an immortal protagonist caught in a universe-threatening cataclysm. The band shares how the album came to be:

“The album has interesting origins. A song from our first album ‘Procession’ was inspired by a comic book. After guitarist Bob Eaglesham joined the band, he mused about what would happen if this priest from the comic discovered that he was immortal, and the song “The Dust Of Forever” was written. Once we started writing some more songs we discussed what kind of album to make next. That is when we came upon the idea of expanding this world we were writing about, and making a concept album.”

Going full-on, epic prog and NWOTHM metal was a big challenge for Mad Parish and they set out to write a story that they would tell through the songs, and decided to create a companion comic book entitled “The Experience Hunter Chronicles” to accompany the album. Creatively, this is the most adventurous thing they’ve done to date.

From the opening “Prophecy” to the climactic “Hail To The Hunter”, listeners will be taken on an immersive journey through a richly imagined world. The story record showcases Mad Parish‘s evolution, blending their NWOBHM-inspired roots with progressive rock structures, 70’s rock swagger, 80’s new wave textures, and even hints of classical and jazz. This eclectic mix results in a sound that’s uniquely Mad Parish – heavy, melodic, and deeply atmospheric. It is recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, Rush, Ozzy Osbourne and Rainbow.

“The Dust Of Forever” is due out on January 31, 2025, and will be available digitally plus CD and Vinyl along with a limited edition comic book via their Bandcamp at https://madparish1.bandcamp.com.

Terromania’s new single “Dystopian Eyes” out now

When a singer watches the Blade Runner movie, he can’t help but turn it into a song!

Terromania‘s new single “Dystopian Eyes” deals with modern world morals, humanity and what happens when they are put to the test.
Finnish Alternative Metal band Terromania talks about the situation in the modern world in their new song, summarizing the whole with the aesthetics of the Blade Runner movies.

“When watching the world go by, it’s impossible to find justification for all this shit and chaos. We felt it was important to approach the themes of the song empathetically and think about them from a neutral basis,” commented the band’s producer-bassist Aleks Toppari.

The band’s previous heavy metal sound experienced a renewal inspired by the band Ghost and Synthwave.
The inspiration from the music and aesthetics of the 80s still serves as the basis for Terromania’s sound, but new perspectives have also been brought in.

“Less traditional heavy-metal screams, more dynamics and down-to-earthness. However, the base is the same as on the first album, we won’t change that,” comments the band’s singer Julius Silvennoinen.

“Dystopian Eyes” is now available on all streaming services. The single was released by the US record company Ripple Music.

“Listen to it, it wasn’t done for nothing,” comments the band’s guitarist Jyri Kuntsi.

Terromania is an Alternative Metal force out of Finland, ripping through the scene with raw power and emotion. Blending influences from Ghost, Lordi, Gojira, Spiritbox and even the wild energy of Van Halen & Devin Townsend, they take it even further by fusing their Heavy Metal base with synthwave, 80s hair metal, pop, and hard rock into a sound that’s unforgettable. With their professionality & clear vision, Terromania’s star is going to shine bright in the midnight sky.

Napalm Records and Avantasia have signed a record deal. Founded at the turn of the millennium, the German band led by Tobias Sammet has long been at the top of metal. Proof of this is their numerous awards, chart positions and sold-out stadium tours.

“Avantasia is here again! This year we presented the biggest show in our history, and it serves as a taster of what’s to come. Fueled by the incredible togetherness and great energy that prevailed on our tour, we returned to the studio and channeled everything into creative work. The end result is our strongest and most impressive album yet: Here Be Dragons”, enthuses Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, and continues:

“We are also happy about our new partnership with Napalm Records. Their commitment and deep passion for the world of Avantasia have given us new strength. We are in this together, side by side, bringing this new chapter to life. Avantasia is back, bigger and stronger than ever!”

KAIROSKILLER Release New Single And Lyric Video ‘Freedom From Time’, Produced by Pietro Foresti

Turin-based KAIROSKILLER launch their new single “Freedom From Time”, available on all digital platforms from today, November 13, 2024, through Volcano Records & Promotion.

The track produced by Pietro Foresti (Tracii Guns, Scott Russo, Marvin Etzioni), takes a bold and introspective dive into the concept of temporal freedom, encouraging listeners to break free from everyday routines and embrace a world of exploration and discovery. “Freedom From Time” marks a progression for Kairoskiller from their previous single “Kairos Killer”.

The band tackles the theme of breaking away from the constraints of modern society, rediscovering the Greek concept of Kairos – the time of quality – through a captivating beat and an alternative rock energy reminiscent of bands like Queens Of The Stone Age, Franz Ferdinand, and Arctic Monkeys. With a nuanced sound and powerful lyrics, Kairoskiller continues to demonstrate artistic maturity that surpasses their young age. Formed in 2022, the band’s musical mission is both an act of rebellion and an invitation to reflect. Double live album from the legendary Kyyria on December 13th – Mouthful of Dust single and video will be released on Friday

In the 1990s, Kyyria, who rose to the rock elite of the Finnish capital region like a rocket and just as surprisingly broke up after just a few years, gathered his forces for the Reporn 25th anniversary tour last year. Now, the unforgettable atmosphere of the second sold-out Tavastia gig that ended the tour has been compressed into a double vinyl, which will be released exactly one month from now, on December 13th.

The first taste of the Reporn – Live at Tavastia double vinyl will be available on Friday this week, when the single “Mouthful of Dust” is released with a music video. The video produced by Sam Jamsen can only be seen on Spotify.

“Miracles do happen! The impossible became possible when I met Gas Lipstick we agreed that this time the Kyyrian Reunion would not remain at the stage of talking. Of course, the upcoming journey included doubts, conflicting feelings and challenges, but in the end the Reporn 25th anniversary tour was an incredible experience “, keyboard player Santeri “Sande” Kallio says.

The tour included Kyyria’s classic ensemble Ville Tuomi, Santeri Kallio, Gas Lipstick, Niclas Etelävuori and Mikael Vehkaoja. The gigs were full of happy people and the atmosphere was wonderful on both sides of the stage.

“The shock, disappointment and bitterness brought by the sudden breakup in 1998 were erased from the mind by the power of music, in good company, and I could even say that the tour was a direct catharsis for the band. The going at the gigs was wild and the quality was the best Kyyria ever. That’s why we decided to release the second Tavastia gig as a live album. I think it would have been crazy not to make some kind of tangible memory of our trip,” Sande continues.

The upcoming double album is also available for pre-sale today, and Kallio thanks Mikko “Vemmu” Vehmas, who also belongs to Helsinki’s long-standing rock scene, who made the upcoming release possible, in packaging a great moment.

“A lot has been invested in the production of the album, and many will be surprised by the live condition of the band after a quarter of a century of silence. Fortunately, Stay Heavy Records joined the project, which both the band and Stay Heavy believe is a significant cultural act and a must-buy for every 90s sound’s lover and anyone interested in Finnish music history. You have been warned”, Sande Kallio smiles.

Reporn – Live at Tavastia includes the following songs:

SIDE A:
Evelyn
Propability 121
Centrepiece

“ULTRAPOWER” produced with Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, Tallah, King 810) is the seventh full-length from STRIKER and follows their Juno Award-winning self-released record “Play to Win” (2018) unleashed on their label Record Breaking Records.

With the band writing material since 2018, “ULTRAPOWER” is a collection of Striker tinkering and exploring new avenues. From the album’s opening trackCircle of Evil”, a Malmsteen-esque metal banger about secret societies and the evil dealings behind closed doors to their previously released single “BEST of the BEST of the BEST” serving up some big riffs and hockey arena vocals to “Blood Magic”, which might be one of Striker‘s most progressive songs, taking cues from bands like King Diamond, with its unconventional structure and punctuated guitar solos. From the band delving into their obsession for late 80s AOR and pop rock with “City Calling”, an ode to 1987, and bands like Toto and Kenny Loggins with their hook-powered albums. To fans experiencing the band’s first attempt at a synth-wave track with “Live To Fight Another Day”, this new offering sees Striker making a shredding love letter to the hard-rocking era of guilty pleasures.

The band comments on the album:

“Starting with the album cover, we wanted the artwork to represent how we feel as a band right now. We are an engine that is fired up and ready to roll. We’re made of metal and our circuits gleam! The album itself is an amalgamation of 5 years of writing and exploring music. With influences from AOR to Speed Metal, Hardcore to Hair Metal, Steely Dan to Deathcore, you name it, it made its way into the album. In the end with the help of Josh Schroeder’s guiding hand, we melted it all together to present something uniquely Striker. Lyrically we’ve stuck to the Striker tradition of writing montage songs for movies that don’t exist, songs about our spiraling serfdom, and lyrics about the evils that lurk in the shadows.”
