Rock in the city, Pori(Finland)

Rock In The City tour was supposed to take place to several Finnish cities during the summer of 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was possible to organize the festival in only two cities; Joensuu and Pori.
We were present with our cameras in Pori on August 21st and 22nd.
The event was held at Kirjurinluoto, a park on an island in the center of the city already known for important music events such as Pori Jazz and Porispere, the age limit was 18, allowing alcohol to be consumed throughout the area. The organization did a great job of maintaining state-imposed restrictions, hand sanitizers were everywhere, there was enough room to keep distance, and security men were always on when needed.
Talking about music, the festival features only Finnish rock and metal bands, this year in Pori performed Amorphis, Battle Beast, Beast in Black, Andy McCoy, Michael Monroe, Sami Yaffa & Costello, Brother Firetribe, Stam1na, Mokoma, Turmion Kätilöt, Viikate, Kotiteollisuus and Klamydia.

Poristriimi Festival 14-15/08/2020, Pori (Finland)

Summer 2020 seemed canceled in terms of festivals, luckily in Finland some festivals have taken place, one of them is Poristriimi festival.
The festival, at its first edition, despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19 was a success. The festival was held at the outer courtyard of Ruosniemi brewery in Pori, a city on the west coast of Finland. The organization did an excellent job in terms of safety by limiting the number of participants, providing hand sanitizer at every corner, and remembering to keep safety distances. For those who could not participate in person, the festival was broadcast on stream for free.
The musical proposal was very varied, from hevy metal to eurodance, a mention goes to Uniklubi and Miljoonasade, big names in the Finnish rock scene, but also the local Rust ‘n’ Rage, Iceid and Jackrabbit with their explosive performances.
Beside the music proposal, we want to emphasize the selection of craft beers present at the festival, in fact five brewery were offering their quality beers; Ruosniemi , Rocking Bear , Moose on the Loose , Mufloni and Tampere Brewing & Distilling Co.

Wednesday 13 Live in Chicago

Following the successful release of “Necrophaze” last year via Nuclear Blast Records, the Duke of Spook Wednesday 13 is currently touring in the US as main support of labelmates The 69 Eyes. Wednesday 13 is taking the horror show to the next level as we witnessed during the packed show at Reggies in Chicago. With theatrical flair and nightmarish vibes Wednesday 13 entertained the audience changing several costumes and masks and the resulting visuals certainly matched the mood of the new tracks “Necrophaze”, “Zodiac” and “Decompose” which sound like the perfect soundtrack for a 80’s horror movie.

The 69 Eyes Live in Chicago

This time we didn’t have to wait a decade to see the legendary Helsinki Vampires The 69 Eyes live on stage as they are currently on the ‘Hell Has No Mercy’ tour across the US. Last year The 69 Eyes released the critically acclaimed 12th album “West End”, available via Nuclear Blast Records, so at the packed show at Reggies in Chicago we had the pleasure to finally hear the new addictive tracks “Two Horns Up”, “Black Orchid”, “Hell Has No Mercy”, “27 & Done” and “Cheyenna” but the setlist of course included many unforgettable classics such as “Framed In Blood”, “Brandon Lee” and “The Chair”. From beginning to end Jyrki 69 delivered an amazing true rocker performance with unrivaled passion and the crowd’s enthusiasm proved that The 69 Eyes were deeply missed in Chicago. After experiencing the ultimate Goth’n’Roll live concert we simply cannot wait to see The 69 Eyes back in the US as soon as possible!
