Sparzanza end their release hiatus – New single ‘The Blinding Absence of a Light’ now out

Swedish metallers Sparzanza are re-activating on the release front after a long break. The new single ‘The Blinding Absence of a Light’ is pure Sparzanza, without forgetting catchy melodies or a massive metal sound barrier.

“The song captures the feeling of what it feels like when there is no light in the world and when all hope feels distant. This song has everything that is essential for us; power, melodies and heavy riffs. If Sparzanza works like that, this one will definitely take off too,” says vocalist Fredrik Weileby.

The single was produced by the band’s guitarist Magnus Eronen, and fellow guitarist Calle Johansson says how important it was to get the same intensity in the composition that can be found in the lyrics.

“The riffs are heavier, the drums are stronger and the sound in general is more aggressive than we have ever done before.”

The lyric video for the single, released by Despotz Records, brings death to its own visually stunning and beautiful place. You can watch the video now here.

Anders Åberg – Drums
Johan Carlsson – Bass

What Awaits Us video interview

Operating under the flag of modern metal, the Finnish band What Awaits Us is ready to test the limits of this genre by bringing together a unique musical blend. The band’s music combines melancholic melodies with hard hitting guitar riffs while taking elements from metalcore and melodic deathcore sub-genres.
In 2014 the band released their self-produced debut album “Awake” via Sliptrick Records which gained praises both from critics and listeners. An EP named “Anomaly” followed this up in 2018 introducing a more technical, faster and brutal side of the band’s music.
Between 2021 and 2024, the band released four self-produced singles. These include a re-recorded version of the song “Ascend”, as well as the tracks “Remedy” and “Borderline”, mixed and mastered by Buster Odeholm (Odeholm Audio / Vildhjarta / Humanity’s Last Breath).
The latest releases, “The Harbinger” and “Hell Above”, showcase the heavier side of What Awaits Us and mark the beginning of a new era.
We had the opportunity to meet Aleksi Kiianlehto (Vocals) and Olli Korpela (Guitars & backing vocals) and learn more about their music, the future plans and much more.

SHORES OF NULL Teams Up w/ THUNDERFLIX To Debut Full Live Video of HELLFEST 2024 Performance; New Album “The Loss of Beauty” Out Now

Touring Europe this past summer in support of their latest and fourth record “The Loss of Beauty” (Spikerot Records), Italian melodic death-doom force Shores of Null performed at this year’s Hellfest Open Air (Temple Stage) in Clisson, France.

Delivering a powerful performance that encapsulates their signature blend of heavy, melodic gothic doom. This live set showcases tracks from their rich discography, including highlights from their latest album. As they perform under the iconic lights of Hellfest, the band’s dynamic soundscapes and emotional depth resonate through the crowd, creating an immersive experience for all in attendance. This performance at one of Europe’s premier metal festivals marks a significant moment for Shores Of Null, further solidifying their place in the metal genre.

Capturing that full set on live video, Shores of Null is ready to unveil it for fans by teaming up with ThunderFlix, the world’s premier on-demand video streaming service dedicated exclusively to heavy metal music.

Vocalist Davide Straccione adds:

“Hellfest was the culmination of an intense promotional cycle during which we had the privilege of taking ‘The Loss Of Beauty’ far and wide. Stepping onto that stage was an incredibly powerful experience, rewarding us for years of relentless hard work, dedication, and a deep love for what we do. We felt the energy of the crowd resonating with us, and in that moment, it truly felt like we were exactly where we were meant to be. On a personal level, it was a dream come true, and I believe I can speak for the entire band when I say it was the highlight of our career so far.”

“The Loss of Beauty” is Shores Of Null’s fourth album and follows the acclaimed “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)”, unanimously considered by fans and critics as one of the Doom Metal gems of recent years. Both albums were recorded between 2019 and early 2020, and although “The Loss of Beauty” was initially conceived as the band’s third album, ‘Beyond The Shores’ took its place as it better reflected the doom and gloom sentiment of the ‘annus horribilis’ 2020.

Across 11 tracks (plus two bonus tracks), Shores Of Null once again submerges listeners with tempestuous and turbulent riffs. The band continues to hone its sound and take its melancholic dark metal to new heights by mastering an assorted palette of genres with inbred poignancy. The lyrics celebrate beauty in imperfection and transience and are meant to be an invitation to seek beauty in little things, especially those unexpected and ephemeral.

“Those who follow Shores Of Null from the very beginning know that our influences touch many genres, and I think those who loved ‘Quiescence’ and ‘Black Drapes For Tomorrow’ won’t be disappointed. I consider ‘The Loss Of Beauty’ to be the natural evolution of those records, while ‘Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)’ represents a slight detour from the main road, a quite successful experiment in which we gave vent to our most dark and dramatic side, focusing exclusively on gothic/death/doom metal, almost funereal at times. Those who have known us with ‘Beyond The Shores’ might find ‘The Loss Of Beauty’ a bit different, faster in tempos but still very gloomy and melancholic, so I’m pretty confident the album will be well received by fans in general.” adds vocalist Davide Straccione.

Dark and heavy, tinged with feelings of despair, “The Loss Of Beauty” was released on March 24th, 2023, and recommended for fans of Swallow The Sun, Borknagar, and Paradise Lost.

About: Shores of Null stand out from their contemporaries with their ability to blend seemingly disparate elements into their sound, overwhelmingly heavy and soothing at the same time: blackened aggression stands alongside gothic-doom sections without either sounding out of place. Their music can be both melancholic yet majestic, made of chorale-like guitar textures across the instrument’s entire range, sustained by a powerful rhythmic section and punctuated by a refined mixture of clean and growled vocals, along with extensive use of pleasing vocal harmonies which have become the band’s trademark through the years.

The Rome-based metal band has been an unwavering presence within the metal underground since their musical outset in 2013, churning out three impressive records: the melodic and somber “Quiescence” (Candlelight, 2014), the darker and more complex “Black Drapes For Tomorrow” (Candlelight/Spinefarm, 2017), and finally their most ambitious work to date “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)” (Spikerot Records, 2020), a 38-minute long opus which continues to prove the band’s willingness to go off the beaten path while creating their ultimate doom manifesto.

The band’s fourth album “The Loss Of Beauty”, recorded during the same sessions of “Beyond The Shores”, was released in March of 2023.

TZIMANI’s New Album “I Feel Fine” via Glory or Death Records (Vinyl) & Noize Cartel (Digital)

Breaking out with their self-titled debut EP in 2018, San Diego, USA’s Eddie and Seb Vazquez brother duo that makes Tzimani are excited to unveil their first full-length album entitled “I Feel Fine”, now available as of November 15th on Glory or Death Records (Vinyl) and Noize Cartel (Digital).

“This album has been a trial of our toughest mental and emotional challenges to not only complete but to release into the ether as it took us over two years to complete from the time we first recorded drums back in August 2022 to when we finally had masters in hand in June of 2024. In a lot of ways, this album represents an emotional rebirth of the band with efforts to take on the world in the metal scene after a protracted period of relative inactivity dating back to mid-2019 after we wrapped up our touring to promote the 2018 EP.

We plan on rebuilding the momentum that was lost during the pandemic years and hitting the ground with a renewed vigor and sense of excitement to bring our live performance to places we have not been to and recapture the support of all the fans we left hanging over the last five years to let them know that we are back! We are ready to reclaim the title as the fearless gruesome twosome in the music sphere and we could not be more thrilled to be working with Buddy and Ygor and the Glory or Death Records label and having them allow us to try to transcend our music and reach the broadest audience.” adds Sebastien Vazquez.

Picking up right where the 2018 EP dropped off, Tzimani‘s album “I Feel Fine” features the same elements of catchy hooks, clean rhythms, and dynamic vocal lines. However, there are bits of deviation when it comes to injecting new elements. Fans will hear an added synthesizer for some of the tracks, an exploration into AOR rock, and some expressions of today’s modern music scene for this collection of eight songs of their finest hour adds.\

Sebastien Vazquez explains further:

“You know those albums that you listen to over and over again and you just know when the first song hits your sense of familiarity, nostalgia, warmth, and comfort? That is what we are trying to encapsulate. The album is straightforward heavy metal mixed with modern elements with a dash of AOR and we feel it is the best representation to show everyone what we are capable of. We are also trying to represent the future of the band and give everyone an entry into some of the larger questions that we struggle with and how we choose to represent that with our songwriting. We are not the type of band that is capable of singing about stories, dragons, and swords, but we excel at writing tunes that people can genuinely relate to and connect with.”

Tzimani is recommended for fans of Van Halen, Haunt, Striker, Traveler, Skull Fist, and Cauldron.

Tzimani‘s new album “I Feel Fine” is now available as of Nov 15th, 2024 on Vinyl and digitally at the following links:

About: Formed in 2017, Tzimani hit the ground running with their debut demo and a relentless West Coast and Southwest tour, winning over fans with electrifying performances in cities like Portland, Seattle, and Texas. Their 2018 self-titled EP, released via Noize Cartel Records, became a launching pad that propelled them into the national spotlight. With over 100 shows across North America and standout appearances at major festivals, the band quickly built a reputation as a live act not to be missed.

Drawing from legendary influences like Iron Maiden, Van Halen, and Mötley Crüe, Tzimani’s music is a bold fusion of melodic AOR and the raw power of old-school heavy metal. With twin-guitar leads, soaring solos, and thunderous drumming, their sound is equal parts grit and glory. Eddie’s vocals, reminiscent of Dio, along with his fierce guitar work, channel the spirit of classic rock while still pushing forward into new sonic territory.

After their 2020 expanded re-release of the EP, Tzimani faced an unexpected pause as the world shut down. But through the stillness, the brothers’ creativity simmered, building anticipation for their next big move. Now, with their first full-length “I Feel Fine” (Out Nov 2024), they’re stepping into uncharted territory by incorporating synthesizers to deepen their sound, adding a dynamic, atmospheric layer that brings new emotion and energy to their music.

Tzimani’s partnership with Glory or Death Records marks the beginning of a fresh journey. With their signature blend of melody and muscle, the band is primed to reach a broader audience and reignite their momentum on stages across the country. The stage is set, the wheels are turning again, and Tzimani is ready to reclaim their place as a force in the rock and metal scene.

“No whipping tricks, but honest smut” – Vanguardian’s extreme sludge metal single Demolition Hour gives a preview of the debut album

Vanguardian, who already presented his own recognizable style on the 2021 “I: The Witchhammer” debut EP, will be releasing an album next year, and the upcoming studio album has not given up – as is also evident very quickly with the album’s first single, “Demolition Hour”, which has just been released.

Born five years ago from the ashes of the thrash metal band Inquisitor, Vanguardian from Jyväskylä relies on the basics in what they do, which only includes drums, bass, guitar and vocals. Background vocals and samples are left to others. “Demolition Hour”, which you can hear now, paints a picture of a dilapidated world that eventually ends up being invaded by aliens.

“It’s that moment of destruction that contains a harsh and fearful command, and you can’t even make the song unsurprising. This song was not made in front of the computer, but together in the mist of the training room. We found that an organic way of composing and arranging works best for us. No gimmicks, but an honest turd pull,” the band formulates.

Vanguardian’s collective machine is pounding forward without coughing, and especially the band’s live performances have been a thrilling experience for many listeners. The band thanks Anssi Kippo, who produced their last EP “II: The Heretic”, but now it was time to take everything into their own hands and make the upcoming album completely the band’s own production. The recordings were made in Jyväskylä in a joint studio built with Jami Honkala and Ville Mikkola, where the band has been able to work completely freely without compromising time or artistic freedom.

“However, the new recording facilities were not the only thing that changed – the band renewed its face and is heading towards the world even more vengeful”, the band formulates and adds that they show the middle finger to all smoothed or inauthentic art.

Vanguardian is:
Markus Martinmäki / Vocals
Tino Jäntti / Drums
Mikko Saviranta / Guitar
Sakari Soisalo / bass

Finnish melodic death/folk metal band Warfarer released their debut album ‘A Tale Beyond the Pale’

Finnish melodic death/folk metal band Warfarer released their long-awaited debut concept album, ‘A Tale Beyond the Pale’ on November 15th 2024 via Inverse Records.

LISTEN to the album on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/warfarer-album

The band comments:

“The wait is over. ‘A Tale Beyond the Pale’ is here — a journey through Finnish myth and legend: jealousy, scheming, Viking raids, and duels under the northern lights. We’ve poured our hearts and souls (or what’s left of them) into this album, and it feels incredible to finally share it with the world.

But this is just the beginning — our TO-DO list is long and relentless. Warfarer is gearing up to hit the road, bringing our full live sound to stages across Finland and beyond. We’re also deep into the pre-production of our second album, so rest assured, more music is on the horizon.

To our fans, thank you for your unwavering support. See you in the longhalls!”

STORIES BEHIND THE TRACKS:

Heir Uncrowned:
“The beginning. Two brothers, raised as one, by blood bound. Our protagonist, the firstborn son, is destined to become the tribe’s chieftain. When he commits a shameful deed, he is disgraced by his chieftain father and disavowed. After the chieftain dies and the second son takes our protagonist’s place as the new chieftain, the firstborn son begins to resent his own brother.”

As the Portents Foretold:
“The raid. The brothers lead a raid over the sea against a southern village. Amidst the battle, the jealous firstborn son looks for an opportunity to plant his dagger in his brother-chieftain’s back, but is continuously denied the chance. Finally, as the sounds of battle fade and everyone else has fallen, he turns his blade toward his brother.”

Brotherslayer:
“The duel. The firstborn son, cold-blooded, faces the bewildered brother-chieftain, who does not understand what madness has overtaken his dear brother. In the end, the firstborn son stands over his slain brother as the morning sun dawns.”

Bereaver:
“The homecoming. As the raiders return, carrying their beloved chieftain on a funeral bier, the firstborn son is exhilarated. He assumes his place as the new chieftain, but among the subdued cheers, murmurs of discontent and rumors surrounding the circumstances of his brother-chieftain’s death persist.”

Betrayer:
“The resentment. The firstborn son is the new chieftain, but he is not beloved like his brother. Even in death, his brother makes him jealous, and this resentment begins to turn into anger. Soon, the flames of his hate engulf the whole village.”

In the Gravelight:
“The loneliness. Alone, despised, amidst the burning ruins of his sanity, the firstborn son hides in the north. The realization of his deeds finally drives him over the precipice, and he descends into grief-stricken madness.”

March Through the Endless Snow:
“The march. Giving up everything, the firstborn son begins his journey further into the north. Determined to find his end on his own terms, he marches to reach the dark river of Tuonela.”

The Gates to Realms Beyond:
“The end. Collapsing in the snow, he sees the gates open to the realms beyond. The firstborn son leaves this world, leaving behind his legacy — the myth of the brotherslayer.”

Miss Vain will release their second EP later in 2025. The first single ‘Remedy’ is out now with music video

Finnish metal band that rocks, Miss Vain, is set to release their second EP ‘Sempiternal Drive’ on April 11th 2025 via Inverse Records. The first single ‘Remedy’ was unleashed with music video which can be seen here: https://youtu.be/2iwgPOKHE_k

The band comments:
Remedy is an emotional song that touches on a difficult but also very familiar feeling for many, when one’s own boundaries become blurred and all of the strenght will be given for pleasing others! “No” seems to be the hardest word and the tenacious nature makes the narrator to prove to himself that he is worthy of his words.

Remedy is aimed to everyone, who too easily identifies him or herself as a helper and supporter, also giving a voice to those who needs encouragement to set their own limits.”

LISTEN Remedy on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/missvain-remedy
