Alestorm frontman Christopher Bowes’ power metal regiment Gloryhammer made their long-awaited return today with their new single On a Quest for Aberdeen. The song is full of the band’s signature grandeur: powerful riffs, catchy choruses and massive orchestration elevate the atmosphere to epic realms. A lyric video for the song was also released today. It is published by Napalm Records.
“The new single continues the story that began with the 2022 song Fly Away. In it, the mystical figure Angus McFife V discovers interstellar travel and arrives at the ruins of the destroyed Space Dundee. A year has passed since the events of the song Space 1992. Disappointed, Angus begins his journey towards the golden fortress of Aberdeen, but finds himself trapped – in the middle of the Demonflame skies,” the band says.
On a Quest for Aberdeen sets the stage for Gloryhammer’s summer combat expeditions. The band will embark on the Dundax Ascendant Summer Tour, which will take them to festivals and clubs across Europe this summer, followed by an extensive US tour with Alestorm.
