Cannibal Corpse – Milwaukee, WI 11/12/2022

Cannibal Corpse has become what one could call a staple in Death Metal. They put on a great show in Milwaukee with their shredding guitars, pounding drums and the steady wind storm that comes from Corpsegrinder’s windmills. The only downside with this show is that during both Cannibal Corpse and Dark Funeral’s sets, either it was planned, or the venue forgot to turn on the stage lights. This occurred during all of Dark Funeral with basically a slight red glow throughout their set and didn’t seem to get corrected until the third song of Cannibal Corpse. Either way though, another killer performance by Cannibal Corpse.

Kreator – Gary, IN 11/03/2022

The Kreator has returned to Gary, IN and put on another great show. Songs included a selection from their newest album Hate Über Alles all the way through 1986’s Pleasure to Kill.

Maybe it was Kreator or maybe it was because it was in Gary, IN, but as a regular in Chicago’s metal scene, I have never seen such a crazy crowd. All in all, there was one fist fight, one guy dragged out in hand cuffs by Gary Police and a third that was tazed by Gary Police just during Kreator’s set.

Mercyful Fate – Gary, IN 11/03/2022

Mercyful Fate returned for their first tour since 1999 and put on a full theatrical performance at the Hard Rock Live (Hard Rock Casino) in Gary, Indiana. The band delivered a killer set list with original vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann, as well as ’90s members drummer Bjarne T. Holm, guitarist Mike Wead and also recruited bassist Joey Vera from Armored Saint and Fates Warning.

Rock In The City Pori (Fin) 19-20-21-/08/2022

Rock in the City had 7 festival locations this year; Kuopio, Vantaa, Kouvola, Oulu, Rovaniemi, Kerava and Pori. Pori was the last location with 3 days of festival. Among the many performing in Pori were Uriah Heep, Battle Beast, Reckless Love, Turmion Kätilöt, Brother Firetribe, Ensiferum, Nestor, Stam1na, The 69 Eyes, Viikate, Blind Channel, Cyan Kicks and Kätfish. We were there and here are some photos takene by Cristina Gregori.

 

 

Knotfest Finland, Turku 12-12/08/2022

We had the opportunity to be present at the first edition of Knotfest Finland. The festival was held at the Artukainen event park in Turku and was organized by Fullsteam Agency. The large area allowed to host 30,000 spectators, resulting sold out on the second day. On the first day, on the two stages we saw Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus, Bloodred Hourglass, Stam1na, Sara, Arch Enemy, Lähiöbotox, Lamb of God, Huora and as final Nightwish. On the second day Blind Channel opened the dances followed by Shiraz Lane, TesserAct, Stoned Statues, Cradle of Filth, Medeia, Bring Me The Horizon, Moon Shot, the long-awaited Slipknot and at the end Huoratron. Porispere, Pori (Finland) 5-6/8/2022

This year the Porispere has grown larger by expanding the festival area to accommodate more people, with a new larger stage and no restrictions on alcohol areas. Unfortunately the weather was not on the side of the festival, rain and wind made the program change at the last minute and two gigs were canceled. Despite all, the festival was a success and the dates for next year have already been announced.
